So te latest build has no new changes and all the nerfs remain =[ I’m really thinking of switching to Rufus I can’t do yang at all

Yun is not dead they (yet) just force yun players to use meter more or just block or tech aka play sf.Why because alot of characters can’t get a full punish his Hk up kicks on block/lose their charge or have to chase him towards the corner which they worked so hard to do in the 1st place.
Another reason he is being force to use more meter is because he builds meter fast.Off a poke Cr.MK or St.mp(also light attacks) yun does super into ultra from anywhere on the screen corner carries you,takes more then half your life and that only kills every character in the game. If you land a good dive kick or 1 more jump your dead,in which he can do (in theory) every round.
I was asked is yang better then yun in ultra?nope he is just good now on pair with yun but lacks the damage output of his twin and slower divekick speed.He plays safer, has better footsies potential(st.lk) then yun,has a real cross-up again and can now chip/combo with far St.mp(chip damage).His bad match-ups will still be bad match-ups I think he counters yun also(personally).
The power gap of the twin is not so big anymore so play yang to be safer with less damage or play yun to do more damage and rushdown.

His nerf to his already weak command grab further damages his rush down. It wasn’t that strong anyway so why nerf it??? Basically Yun was fine as he was and if anything need some buffs. The only way you could really win with him was to yolo your opponent and go crazy, and that’s prob why Kazunoko (spelling?) was the only notable Yun player, and even he didn’t really win any tournaments…
They should have left him alone. Either buff his mp+10 and do nothing else or buff his health +50 and do nothing else. With his nerfs and the buffs to all of his matchups, Yun will go from upper mid to lower mid.
I think the command grab nerf was odd but better then that build where yun gets hit with counter hit damage from a whiff.
His Heavy Nishikyaku: Invincibility removed is because certain match ups get out the corner free and again that was son what unfair if a character whole gameplan was to put you in a corner then pressure you.
Kazunoko using that tactic made alot of players cry for nerfs but even with all his nerfs yun with still run a train on yun with more damage output on standing punishes.I agree he should get more health with his hk dp nerf or 1-2 frame less recovery on his whiff dive kicks.
You’re saying the DP was unfair, but it was punishable by many of the good characters and it’s nothing compared to the advantages of the high tier characters. Yun still has no wake up game, mediocre damage without meter, no health, no safe approach and a slow command grab. Only thing I’ll say is that Yun players have to master his kara command grab in order for him to be viable, considering how good many other characters are getting.
@Darryl215, sorry dragon kick nerf is unacceptable. It’s very unlikely for Yun to escape the corner using dragon kick.
Do note that Cammy cannon spike travels further than Yun and has less recovery, but you don’t see that being nerf correct?
I kinda have an idea what the real reason is behind the dragon kick nerf. To be honest, it’s pretty damn selfish and unprofessional.
Once again, Capcom afraid to make the characters strong.
@Soul Crusher, I agree. It doesn’t make sense for him to get that nerf. In terms of the dragon kick not being able to be fully punished, that complete BS. Note that some of these punishes you may have to dash forward to Yun after blocking the dragon kick, but that’s part of the okizeme when predicting a reversal.

These are just midscreen combos, they’re not even ones where Yun puts himself into the corner when trying to reversal HK Dragon Kick.
People just need to learn how to punish blocked Dragon Kicks properly. Capcom is pretty much nerfing this move for the sake of pleasing the people that don’t take the time in the lab to learn how to punish this appropriately.

I never did agree to this change.I asked in person at winter brawl why would you give yun that nerf to his wake-up.He(combofiend) said that the move was meterless&unfair to some characters (might have something to with some of the new characters punishes also).I called BS as I main guy and 2nd yun I know well he can’t just upkick the whole game and win every match.
At the local test for usf4 I asked/listed that lk up kick hit grounded leaving him with a lower damaging wake-up option but also leaving him with at least 2 options.They are again forcing yun to block more,less anti-airs into super, forcing him to get pressured more on wake-up aka meaty normals/attacks.
Sadly we can’t even complain too much now they have already nerf SRK FADC-2 pressure (its -5 after forward dash). If you(points at you) can block then you can fight shoto characters better now.Yun’s offensive as gone up(can pressure more in his bad match-ups),delayed wake-up helps his defense on hard knockdowns and he gained a damage buff. Just from the changes to the system the game as got slower(in theory) while yun has a divekick+guard break which will run a train on rolento, elena on wake-up.
Shoto’s lost their main tool safe pressure srk FADC ultra is a commitment if its not a punish or anti-air. Yun has to block more but can deal with his bad match-up more a bit and has almost no true counter pick now.Seth is not that good as well as adon and bison got nerf abit.
I wouldn’t even complain if they fixed some of his moves already.Shouldn’t that be top priority instead balance changes?

People on Eventhubs started coincidently posting all these new Yun tech videos ( the kara command grab video) I remember they even posted a video with this title
" A Yun mix up video that may make you think " Why wasn’t Yun nerfed harder after AE" or some bullshit like that… I watched the video and it was nice but horribly exagerrated -
Xian talked about his thoughts during an interview with Jason from event hubs about balance one day and said " i would like to see non grapplers with a command grab get toned down a bit." Just cause he hates the Yun match up… DOES THAT RING A BELL GUYS?
I’m gonna stick to Viper and Ken since they are also my mains and just so happen are going to be A tier in Ultra… I’ll still keep playing Yun second or THIRD probably, just cause i don’t ditch my favorite characters in the whole series just cause they are GG tier or something… Screw playing Yang ( no offense) and ESPECIALLY Rufus ( full offense)

I wonder if the ex command grab nerf has anything to do with the video I made about the kara tech. but I am shocked why it was nerfed and Ken get to get buffs along with retaining the kara throw range. I seriously have no idea how capcom decides what gets nerfed or buffed
Doubt it. I think it was an adjustment for the new meta game. Yun is fine.

In terms of range, I don’t think the command grab nerf is a big deal. Most people say it’s not really noticeable. The nerf to damage scaling hurts. It’s balanced out somewhat by the extra damage on his MPs, but all of those ultra combos will be much weaker, and they didn’t do great damage to begin with. I don’t like how much of a gamble character he is, but even Kazunoko isn’t using him optimally, so he might be very good if you master him.
I really do not understand the HK Dragon Kicks nerf, it not FADC-able, even now with invincibility it trades quite a lot, it’s fuckin 8 FRAMES startup you can meaty jab Yun with like half the cast and still block it on reversal.
