Just saw this change
what does this mean??
We’ve heard yun players, wait for the next version, hopefully you won’t be disappointed. - David Hinds. This was like a week ago.
Wow I am very dissapointed.
Yaa… me too
I think it means it’s invincible to all crouching attacks. So in order to stuff it you’ll have to use a standing attack, but LK will beat that. So if Yun gets pressured on wake up with a meaty and wants to go for a reversal, he’ll have to guess which up kick to use in addition to looking for baits. Better than nothing, but definitely worse than his option in AE 2012.
Thanx for the Info,Yun is pretty much dead now,All he got were only nerfs, the only buff he got is the 10 damage on this med punch and that is not a gud buff…
how bout them command grab nerfs
I think I’m just going to drop Yun. I don’t think he’ll be bad but he wont be good. It pisses me off he gets treated unfairly that I even considered not buying ultra. I really like Rolento and Hugo. And I’ve been messing around with C Viper I guess it’s time to move on. It’s really sad because they didn’t even test Yun at all. They nerfed him and had him like that for 3 test changes saying they didn’t know what to do with him. Everyone else seemed to have got changes during those tests but not Yun. And now he will be shipped out like this because we are so close to release. /cry

It’s almost like Capcom feels like they HAVE to make 3 or 4 changes to a character weather it’s necessary or not ‘just because’. I mean, what is even the intent behind these Yun changes really?
Maybe it’s because Yun players didn’t send many requests for changes because he was already quite well balanced in the current game. Who knows what goes on at Capcom.
Yes I am disappointed with these changes, we asked for plenty of changes such as less landing recovery on his divekicks but got mostly nerfs, however the damage increase is nice
Everyone just wants there character to be good and play like an A tier character… I’m fine with Yun going from B+ to B tier, he’s probably not even going to be B- or lower, he’s too good in the current version for for him to just go down that far even with the nerfs. Guess i’m not a cry baby, i don’t know. How do you think LOYAL Deejay, T.Hawk, Dhalsim, ect. players felt knowing for every iteration of the game it was not possbile for their character to win a major. But no ones really loyal, except a few people. Watch all the Yun avatars dissappear. trolol
SMH I just wanted the divekick to be less anti-air-jab-able(better hurtboxes) or a frame or 2 less recovery on whiff.I can’t be too upset we still have a meterless option on reversal to lows at least.
Edition select yun FTW
So we’ll have to choose between using hk or lk upkicks as a reversal, not only having to choose if the opponent will press buttons but also if they’ll perform a standing or crouching attack. Sucks but atleast hk nisho is not completely useless as a reversal unlike previous USFIV iterations. DWU is not a big deal for Yun as his vast majority of his knockdowns are soft knockdowns. Bummed about his 1 point dmg on tenshin…that sucks. Could care less about the range nerf, doesn’t matter tbh. Wish they gave him an improved divekick and a health buff and fix his air TC so it would have worked for all focus chars but it’s whatever.
Probably will use EXRFC alot with Yun, he builds meter so fast. and more room to use ex nisho as a reversal also. Yun will be fine in USFIV honestly.
Going full time Yun in USFIV, maybe use Guy also but bummed about his loss of cr.mp but maybe his new AA is good enough, bye bye Cody been a good 2+ years.
I don’t think Yun is too bad, even with some of the nerfs. I’ll keep playing him but alongside a secondary to deal with some matchups.
I think he will be fine as well. Some of his tough matchups may have gotten harder but I have pocket characters for them. I did some damage calculations. After command throw meterless BNB was cr.mp, st.mp, hk upkick. This did 212 damage.
The new damage with the scaling 1 damage on the first hit and the 10 damage buffs to cr.mp and st.mp makes it 215 =]. The only REAL damage nerf this command grab scaling causes is it takes 20-30ish damage off of meterless ultra combos… NOT a big deal. The range nerf isn’t that bad either you can still do light attacks on hit and reset with throw.
I’ll still play him, but i’m definitely going to be looking more into other characters… some of his bad matchups just got a lot worse lol
Combofiend hates the Chinese ;(
I am wondering if his u2 has become more viable in this version. Thoughts?

Yeah Ultra Double combo will serve him well, i had some success with it at the location test. It felt good knowing that i was anti air EX upkicking into corner ultra 1 against this really good Sagat player, to win the first round. Then i won the second round barely with ultra 2 (orange fireworks) cause he forgot i was using ultra wombo cause he saw Ultra 1 and went into auto pilot. Yun is in that 75% damage category too. The two combos you will need are Cr. MPx2 --St. MP-- hard Upkicks, and Cr.LK/Cr.LP --st.LP–Cr.MP–ST.MP–HardUpkicks to take advantage of the damage buffs, it feels good.
I was more thinking as a replacement for u1 since it does more dmg, and with ex rf and Yun meter build, you are almost guaranteed an ultra per rnd.
I have not even begun to think of how ucw changes Yun playstyle/meta. But good win.
