Anyone know how to unlock them? If I have to beat the game on ridiculous mode to get them, then I have my work cut out for me =/
No, none of the palettes are unlocked by doing anything on ridiculous.
Get the achievement for the character, play the character online a certain number of times.
Stand on your hands and backflip off of your patio.
I thought Peter or Mike disconfirmed achievement.

I desperately need Peacock’s black and white alt.
That one is unlocked by playing through Arcade mode with her on your team, any difficulty if I’m not wrong. I wish I knew how to unlock Double’s and Valentine’s Story Modes… They’re my mains! ;_;
Play everyone else’s story mode.
Beat everyone else’s to unlock Valentine’s, then beat hers to get Double’s.

Beat it with the initial six to unlock Valentine’s story. Beat Valentine’s to get Double’s story. Beating Double’s story gets you a cheevo (and a friggin’ awesome ending)!
Okay, so if I’m reading this correctly, you get a color for beating a character’s story, another for arcade mode using a character, and the last two for versus matches played with the character in local or online? I’ve confirmed an unlock for local, because it happened while playing casuals at Texas Showdown.
Does it matter if you win or lose? Cuz I suuuuuuck online lol.
i got painwheel’s 9th by playing online, and 10th is a code of sorts…at least thats the rumor
Thanks guys! I played through the original six and never noticed Valentine’s story un-greyed. I’m a little colorblind so I never really noticed until my roommate pointed it out to me haha!
Just got Valentines 9th after a victory online. Not sure how many wins that was ive been playing off and on for about 10 hours today.
If that’s an actual problem for colourblind people, you might want to post that in the Bug Thread / similar place and suggest that it gets made clearer (eg a big lock in front of the portraits instead of just having them greyed out; or an “unlocked new story pathways” popup or something).
Got 2 costumes for beating arcade and story with Ms fortune… then another when I unlocked the achievement… I guess for using her online… then the 9th randomly came after another online win.
And her 9th color way is friggin morrigan… pretty much solidified her as my main
I just got the 8th color by beating arcade. So the 9th one is through how many times use the character or win with them? Anyone know?
It seems like just playing is how you get the 9th. Got Double’s 9th after playing a friend for an hour or two. Didn’t get Painwheel’s though, for some reason, despite having used the two of them together in every match.
ugh i really need Valentine’s 9th. i’ve been playing with her both days and haven’t touched it yet. 
It notified me when Valentine’s story was unlocked.
