Seems this split is causing a lot of confusion, and due to some scheduling conflicts and other factors we’ve decided to combined Davis/Sac/Reno.
Glad to hear we’ll have a deeper team representing us. Now onto a separate matter, I would really like attend the qualifiers. But I am unable to attend after aug 15th. Is there a way we could reschedule to an earlier date? I am willing to offer any help I can to make it happen
dam i dont even knw what to type. but after all this drama things are finally settled and ken wants in. i mean sicx
Where are you going to be Destructive? (I can’t make it until after August 17th coincidentally).
In SoCal for school =/
Hmmm. If I make the team I’d be willing to do a round robin vs the other teammates for my spot at the event itself.
Its seems silly to me to move the event date so 1 person would have a chance to be on the team, only to make it difficult for another. I’m just gonna drop out of the event completely. best of luck yall
Unfortunately the date was selected due to scheduling conflicts on both Droms, myself, and local players. We wanted to have the regulars have a shot at this and this date allows students of both Davis and Sac State to attend!
Thinking outside the box, The quals don’t have to be held at Droms. And it seems to me that any date before school starts wouldn’t conflict with any school. I’m not sure what your scheduling conflicts might be, but I’m not sure that anyone could justify not having a free 8 hours in 4.5 weeks (possibly miss out on a raid for 1 evening). And I understand that you’re trying to look out for local players, but this team isn’t just for your local players. I might say that I am slightly miffed on the lack of consideration for Sacramento players. It might end up working out that I am literally the only person that cannot make it that day, but my point is that 1 day I know that BoB is actually gonna happen, and the next the quals are on sept. 4. And from every sac player I’ve talk to that was all of the information we were privy to. I’m not trying to make a fuss about this, because of jack… I’ve never met the guy, and he’s been nothing but cordial and respectfully addressing everyone’s concerns. And asking to change the date now when I know it would only make it harder for him to attend quals would be morally irresponsible imo. I just wanted to voice myself, and I hope in the future if other regional events has Sac and Davis teamed that there will be better consideration/representation for/from the other half of the team.
Fuller for the love of god…stop making drama out of nothing…go get a blunt n freakin relax…
I’m not trying to make drama, I’m really not. I am just trying to politely and respectfully voice my thoughts and opinions. Btw, what happened to our discussion?
There are many factors why we chose September fourth.
Firstly this week is sbo qualifiers. It is a busy week in general just due to that.
The next weeks after that have a droms tournament already.
In regards to Davis and sac state: this date allows students to return to town and settle in. I know myself and others have to move in and out of apartments this month.
Droms runs at a lose when running tournaments and this date was free.
Edit: in class so continuing from earlier.
Furthermore I feel that this should naturally take place at droms because of their continuous support and generousity towards the players from Davis and sac.
Saying that this date being inconvinient in general is quite questionable as it is more than a month away and gives everyone in the area plenty of time to make plans and schedule arrangements. Even more the only reports of this being a bad date are from you who does not live nor represent this region.
I understand the great feeling of being glamoured at an event and making a qualifier - however you are being quite selfish about this especially considering you don’t live here, aren’t part of this areas scene, and your eligibility for even being in the event is questionable. Your parents may have a house in sac but you are not a Sacramento hardbody.
Well I guess living in Sacramento for 13 years then earning a scholarship to a school a few hundred miles away for a couple years and being mere months from graduation then living in Sacramento permanently doesn’t earn me the regional citizenship as delegated by yourself. Not to mention being one of the biggest advocates for “the community” and one of the most active players. The claim about selfishness is unwarranted as I have already addressed that in saying that I do not wish that the qualifier be moved because of jack. I have no more right to qualify than be does so I wish the issue be taken no further. Please reference a dictionary before posting libelous claims. Glamour… Not my thing, I just want to play… The whole concept behind video games, or so I thought. Like I attempted to point out earlier I was merely voicing my opinion that I feel as if sac has been underconsidered in the setup of the qualifiers, Considering, the commotion that errupted about having “the best team possible”. Again it’s an opinion, agree with it or not, that’s your prerogative.
I feel like I should post, but at the same time it’d only be fanning the fire. I hope the whole thing is dropped and we just hold a kick-ass tourny!
Yes definitely! I never intended to say the tourney shouldn’t be held at droms. I know u guys have a nice system of operations going on there and though I’ve never been privileged enough to attend a tournament I’ve never heard a bad thing about the venue. I was just trying to think outside of every ones mindset that things had to be done a certain way and to exhaust all possible options that might enable all participants desiring to qualify to attend. It seems that is unrealistic at this point in time due to many factors. I wish everyone luck at the qualifier and I hope our team has a good showing at the 5v5
You may have lives here for 13 years but as a player you developed yourself in so cal. I myself lived in the north bay for 22 years yet I call myself a Davis player. You do not see me telling those guys how to run ther events.
In posts within this thread you have repeatedly shown your dissappointment in this event not being catered towards tour personal needs; at times you have also said the tournament shouldn’t be moved just because of you. Needless to say you have dished out some mixxed messages.
Let me make this clear. This event is bigger than you and is treated as such. I as an organizer have a duty to make this event and it’s regional team as well represented as possible. This means scheduling in such a way that KNOWN Davis and Sacramento players may attend. This event is not for So Cal players who happen to have a nor cal po box.
You are the only person here that has complained about this date and location. These things have nothing to do with you but you insist on taking this matter personally.
I find it offensive you state that I do not have sacramentos interest in mind when I stated a Davis AND sacramento team together would be stronger under one unit than split into two teams. In fact two if my top picks doe this event are sicx and Larry who are both sac players.
If we want to consider the iconic nature of the scene people call this region Davis for justifiable reasons. We run all the tournaments, we travel the most, and have continuasly out performed sac players on a national level.
Knowing this, I am in fact performing reverse favoritism by making sure Davis
and sac have equal opportunity in this event when sac has never made a name for themselves.

If you look at this resume I should probably have just pushed for a DAVIS only team as Davis players have shown the most consistency when performing out of towners. If someone wants to argue that Sacramento is being treated unfairly I would agree - They are treated unfairly **well ** considering on paper they would be more liabilities than assets - yet I acknowledge players such as Sicx and Larry, though in the past have not shown to be tournament beasts outside these city walls, may be better assets to a REGIONAL team than just having myself on the team.
Much respect to Larry but saying Davis has an undeserved ego outside of Korea is questionable considering the list of players I made that helped get Davis/Sac area NOTICED as a Street Fighter 4 hub. If anyone would like to make a Sacramento resume and then tell me how I’m favoring Davis over Sac please step forward. It’s also round robin.
Thank you for your valid opinion. I appreciate hearing that you do have sac underconsideration. Perhaps it has been unwarranted to state otherwise. I can see how one might misconstrue me having a concern for my ability to attend a qualifier and trying to deal with it right away while there’s still plenty of time to make scheduling adjustments with “selfishness”. There is no mixed message. I wanted to discuss a possible day/location change and was shot down with little consideration. This because of my ignorance to the fact that there was someone else who wouldn’t be able to attend if the date was changed. After becoming aware of this fact I quickly stated that no further consideration was needed.
And I have no idea why the fact that people call Davis, Davis (seems like the city and school name would be pretty self evident) has anything to do with the matter.
On a further note, your argument that I am a so cal player is completely subjective. Just because you have the opinion that I am not a sac player, though that is not the case, has little or no justifiable backing. There are no stipulations at this current te regarding the events participants beyond where they reside. Not to mention that only a few days ago you even told pyro that since he’s going to school in sf next semester that he should have the right to qualify for either team and hasn’t lived there for a day yet. That is a mixed message to me.
I do not even wish to touch upon the other erroneous topics that you have brought up while deflecting upon the topics I have tried to discuss proactively. Instead of discussion I get put on blast for wanting to be a part of this event.
In all honesty this bickering is completely frivolous. You got exactly what you wanted. Sac and Davis together. You get to have tour power and run everything your way for your reasons. All I wanted was the ability to try out for the team and I made every effort to make that happen. The reality is that it cannot happen and I’m okay with that.
I believe that we should both agree to respectfully disagree with eachother and leave it at that.
I just read your edit. I would have no problem representing a “weaker” team than Davis in the 5v5. All I ask is the opportunity. I would only assume that you speak for Davis In saying that you are better than us. And your teammates should have no quarrell with that but I’m sure things are going to stay the way they are
I think everyone should jus chill.without davis sac would have never caught up but as of now davis and sac are equal in my eyes I go 50 50 with anyone from davis in turrny.as for majors davis has always represented.so let’s squash the beef level up and play together .fuller is my boi and he just tried to help in the end it didn’t wurk out.now we back at square one.so plz leave it at that cuz wen wurds get tossd around and ppl start getn salty in the end our sac.davis team will not mesh together well resulting in bad team chemistry.if any one thinks I’m free I dnt wana b on there team. Point blank id rather fight against them.so stop bitchn come out to quals and play lesssssss ggoooooo
Train hard til qualifier everybody so we can show norcal that sacdavis exist
