Unless I’m mistaken you have to run a qualifier though. Everyone from the area has to have a chance to get on the team. It’s how every other region is doing it.
Yeah, I’m not wasting my time, Drom’s time and money, or anyone’s money for a 5 man tournament. This is a fucking joke if Davis and Sacramento are separate teams.
I think San Rafael and Santa Rosa should be more justifiably separate teams. It’s a 45 minute drive away.
Oh I also like the four fucking regions THE CITY is categorized with. The City/Peninsula/WestBay/Etc. That’s a fucking joke.
But Sacramento and Davis being separated when they are 15 minutes away and players literally go to the same tournaments and session together every week? fuck off.

its the same over here, 15-20 mins apart but different regions (cept for north bay) . even if theres no other good players everyone wants a chance. Thats what we all are doin over here.

In the event the there are ties during this round robin we’ll do something like a FT5 or 10 between the players.
Individuals wanting to qualify for this event from Sacramento will only be able to do so if they are known to have represented the Davis area. I will be the sole authenticator of this since I am this regions most active organizer of both sessions and tournaments. Do not bother coming to this qualifier if you go to the Sacramento qualifier and fail to make the cut. This event is for people who rep this area.

The Sacramento qualifier will not be held at Drom’s. This is a Davis location.

I’m just saying based on the strength of the various Bay regions (all of which include several cities and far more players), having separate Sacramento and Davis teams is just not in our best interest.
Davis has the earth and fire, Sacramento has the wind and water. Only through love and unity will our hearts allow us transcend our abilities as individuals.

I believe from the first post, which i agree with, that you may attend the qualifiers of EITHER Davis OR Sac. But NOT both.
Hmmm… how on Earth to say. I kind of stepped away from the madness post-Evo due to evvvvvvvvvvvver so slight breakdown that was partially game-related. Anyways, enough about me and my issues. But here’s what I got: Although Sac and Davis are only a couple miles apart. They are worlds apart in other ways.Years of seeding,arrogance,animosity,undeserved egos,bad talk,grouping,cliquing,basically all of the Highschooley crap is what drew the line in the sand.Truth be known, I had a really super rough time with just playing games past and present because of all this and it was tough to even do a divekick for a long while with all of this going on.Just a bunch of bitter ass haters all around.If I really had to call it like it is, Davis outside of Korea doesn’t exist right now…no one is super solid there RIGHT NOW for whatever reason.But I can’t imagine old Davis would have invited any Sacramento player to their team in previous instances where you guys were dominant.Maybe that’s where the resentment comes from…along with fickle/petty squabbles like this one in the thread…it just doesn’t make for great team chemistry.I don’t know the rest of the story…but in my mind. I would say Korea,Pieguy,Choi (if he’s still around),P.Viper,X,Jack,Thxyoutoo,Romeo (he lives in Sac, but he’s always been Davis as far as I know), should be able to hash it out with whoever else and make whatever they want out of it.
As for Sac, I would say Sicx,Mikey,Fuller,Tinh,Popo,Cliff,and maybe like a good Stockton player (Reno/Yuba doesn’t really count in my mind as any part of that) should be able to get something going on their end easily.I don’t know who is or isn’t a defector out of the people I listed or didn’t list…But I can imagine a couple people freestlying their way elsewhere/doing their own thing.

I think it’s undeniable that davis/sac together would have a stronger team than having us divided. That being said…
-There’s already 2 teams, I don’t know why it happened originally, but BoB organizers say its that way
-I cannot make it to a qualifier in Davis in Sept, so I am personally unable to be on that team
-The second team needs an organizer
So, those 3 things considered, it seems nothing but logical for me to volunteer for the position. I’m not trying to hate on anyone. All the politics and squabbling that goes on because of SF is not what draws me to the game. All I’m trying to do is offer organization and put together the best team possible out of the players that want to qualify for the Sac team. If Thxyoutoo would like to invite the best players from sacramento to attend the davis qualifier for the sake of having “the best team possible”, I will not protest, because I do not wish to have a player representing my city that would rather represent someone else. Though, I believe said actions would go against the spirit of the 5v5. Ya, if you took the best 5 players out of a 40 player base and compared it to the best 5 players out of an 80 player base, the team with more players to pick from, statically speaking, is going to have a stronger team. But I don’t remember when we crossed over from getting your crew together and try to go beat other teams, to “if we don’t have the best team possible, everything is fucked!”. Why is it such a problem to have teams of people that actually play and train together on the most consistent basis to just go out and play to win, instead of conceding defeat in the 5v5 before quals even happen? To me, it really doesn’t matter who’s on my team because I’m not planning on losing any matches. Now there’s a definite barrier between walking into every match confident and the reality of OCV’ing every team would be very difficult. But how can you expect to beat someone if you’re already telling yourself that you’re going to lose? I’m not trying to preach, this is merely my opinion, and everyone has the right to disagree with me. And I sincerely wish all of the players from this area the best of luck, and wish to harbor no bad feelings. I’m just tryin to mash some buttons, ya know?
I think what upsets Thxyoutoo is this: Davis, CA Population = 62,000 as of 2007.
Oakland, CA Population = 404,000 as of 2008.
The Davis team is on it’s own.
The Oakland team also includes Hayward,Fremont, Union City Richmond,Pleasanton,Concord ETC.

and being real…players are scattered all around the bay area… were trying to have as many people come out to their regions qualifiers to see whos out there…people want to see new faces hell i bet theres a whole bunch of sleepers we havent seen yet just because they cant get out there…
