so has anyone noticed a consistent difference with mp typhoon? i have yet to try it because i just keep forgetting to, but im on my way to do that now!
anyone in this thread want to play CLASSIC st arcade matches? i miss the old dive and i needa get back into the habit of actually being able to do a 360 rather than hcb up
I’m always down to play some classic.
I spent a few hours in training mode the other day testing out jab and fierce and I didn’t see any difference whatsoever between them. (Except the damage, and somewhat different bounceback) I find it hard to believe that MP is different.
I know other people are reporting differently but I tried every test I could think of.
I think the best way to practice is to set the training dummy to jump and try to hit them with a normal as they land then 360 them before they can get off the ground. You can do it with every normal that isn’t fierce and roundhouse. In general the timing is later than you think.
Anyone got any good pointers going against Vega (Claw)? One of the guys in our local gaming group plays him really well, and I just can’t find a good way around it with ol’ Hawk. He just sits waiting for an opportunity and I can’t think of an effective way to get momentum going my direction.
A sitting Vega is the worst one. I usually walk up to see what range they press mp, then the next time Ill dp for the knockdown, if they dont mp much (why they wouldnt Idk) walk up and MAX range 360. Any non-meaty wall dives are beat by c.fp (whether it crosses up or not) and leave vega in a bad positon. Main thing is you cant jump if he is crouching, jump up and whiff hp/lp to try to make him whiff a flip kick, then 360 dat ass. Such a gay match.
i dunno if this is new or if anyone knows it, but yesterday i was playing and i dp’d chun out of her super and killed her, it wasn’t on purpose though im not that good hahahaha, but im guessing what happened was her first burst of kicks ended in the super and the pause between the bursts she was vulnerable and she got hit, or maybe the last one went through me of the first burst due to the invincibility on the dp
i hope that made sense hahaha
Yeah chuns super doesnt have too much invincibility. Just barely enough to go through fireballs I think.
I was in a 6 player classic room today on XBL and god it just felt so right playing O.hawk again. Negative edge jab 360 ALL DAY.
i have a guilty pleasure of playing honda in classic, im sorry to admit it hawk players
remix honda ain’t got shit on me any more, i just counter turtle him and it seems to work pretty well
What the fuck do you do against Sim’s St.Jab? It beats EVERYTHING I have.
B.jab ? the one where he chops down right? jumping you cant do shit. like, ever.
splash or j.fierce MIGHT trade at very specific instances but other than that it beats anything hawk does. its really lame.
on a positive note, know that one knockdown against sim and you’re pretty much golden.
I never play R.Hawk so when I want my Hawk fix I just bust out ST. On the other hand I’ve trained myself into always getting the Fierce version, when I piano negative edge his Typhoon.
I watched you and DSP in one classic match. Either it was laggy or you’ve played HD Remix way too much ^(^
Hahah where did you watch that? Was it online classic? If it was recently, it was definitely cause of too much HDR. My brain was trained to do hcb f. After that match I went into training mode and legit practiced negative edge typhoon for a while. I think i got it down again hahah
i want an av like yours except with him splashing something or cr.fiercing something.

There are very few .gifs avaiable of T.Hawk online, since emu.gen.something is down, it had Roundhouse throw and other good stuff.
Yeah that was like two days ago. I was fuckin SHITTY so i was like fuck, training mode all day.
Still have to get use to doing it again from the left side
Yeah, that’s the attack I was talking about. I can usually trade with a well timed J.Fierce, but then that just Dhalsim back and it throws him in the perfect position to keep me away.
God damn you Sirlin…
Dhalsim v T.Hawk problems were going on long before Sirlin got a hold of this game…
One psychic dp to Dhalsim’s legs or random knockdown and it’s gg for him though. I think this fight is much harder for Sim than it is for us to be honest. Sure a good sim player can keep Hawk at bay…but there are ways to get in, well timed dives, walk-ups, dp’s, standing RH…once your in just spike him on his head a few times.
I blame Sirlin because he had the chance to AT LEAST give T.Hawk something that can actually beat that attack. I’m not asking for a new special attack, fuck, not even something that knocks down. I’d settle for the J.Strong being able to get past it.
Real talk hawks close st,rh is broken good as a late anti air.
Yup, make no sense lol. I still stick with c.fp.
