Hehe I like that, quite thought provoking (but not really)
Problem with those awesome Dan Skill Project videos is quite a lot of it isn’t really applicable to your average match and requires strict timing and spacing, not to mention being character specific
I’d make a “Saikyo for beginners” video if I had a means of recording
Invest in a cheap camera, I got a Canon for $250 USD and you can probably get one cheaper. Just be sure you can put it on a stand or something. I don’t know about video editing though.
Also, yeah, all those tricks don’t work on everyone. But the throw, Danku, throw loop is hella fun on unsuspecting opponents
Video camera stuff looks crap for instructional videos, ironically it’d be cheaper for me to buy SF4 and Fraps for PC than get dazzle and extra cables. I don’t have that kind of disposable income for something I wouldn’t really use all that much
Wish I had time to get my hands on Saikyo on weekdays as well. My skills just seem to deter after a week or so with no match at all, combined with the fact that I play 5 characters.
Even that, you can get an outdated digital camera. Say about 4 mega pixels…cannon of course. It’d be no more than 60 bucks since 4 megs was their top of the line about 5 years ago.
Get a mini-tripod and you’re pretty set. Cannon’s auto to Quicktime format and it’d be so simple to convert.
Yeah. You really want a direct feed for capturing if you’re going to put more than $40 down on it.
When you need to process the video, get a 30 Day trial of Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas or one of the other sweet video editing packages. It’s definitely worth it.
Also, don’t be afraid to opt for an SD feed instead of an HD feed. HD footage is one helluva pain to deal with if you don’t have a good computer.
Good thing about easycap is it’ll output the files to mpg (about 100mb per match) so all you need to do it cut the bits out you need. I use VideoRedo which isn’t free but i’m sure there are free alternatives out there. Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas is bit OTT unless you want to do more than just cut the video.
Yeah I’ve used Vegas before, just need to get a version that won’t run out after a month Premiere I hate so much, decompression never seemed to work properly and everything took twice as long as it should >.<
Sigh… All this time I spent training up my fuerte, and only after a year did I just realize that the Saikyo style was actually the art-form I was seeking all along~
I won’t let you all down. I shall perfect the art of the taunt.
I decided to buy EasyCap, 16.44 including all the extra wires and junk. Just hope it works Not planning on recording any games until SSF4 comes out since it keeps your battlelogs so can play in HD then watch in SD to record but can make some crappy tutorials until then
