Played it, but not too much. I think $1 per credit at E-Spot is too much for a fighter game.
I picked up Guilty Gear a couple weeks ago, and it’s actually pretty fun compared to Marvel… so much more balanced, and some nice fresh ideas that are pulled off really well.
I suck horribly at using the stick in the arcade, and the fact that both the sticks on the machine here at UBC are busted in one way or another doesn’t help (bad left direction on 1P side, stiff jump on 2P) but I’m trying to learn to get around it. Hell, ask Tao, he destroyed me today 4 games to zero when I was using my best character. Can’t even dust loop consistently on stick yet, only PS2…
I’ve got Guilty Gear XX #Reload on PS2 (with GGXX #Reload Korean Version on its way), so if anyone wants to practice in my dorm at UBC just let me know. I live in Place Vanier at UBC, which is like 5 minutes walking distance away from the UBC arcade, so practice there is a hell of a lot cheaper than blowing $1 per match at the arcade. Downsides are the lack of stick of course, but feel free to bring your own if you’ve got one for PS2.

yeah i know whut u mean (but did you know zero and evil ken are one of the secret characters in the game?), ive just been to Espot… atleast they made marvel $0.25 per game now… the 2p controls were perfect but the 1p’s were totally busted which wuz unfortunate for this chinese dude hu tried to challenge me (i just gave him 2 of my characters to make it even before i killed him ), unfortunately for me too that wuz the only action i wuz gonna get for the day… well at least i managed to play again and practice with my old characters (i must’ve spent atmost 3 bucks today before i started walking home). now im more excited to play at jz’s to face some REAL challengers with you guys and maybe take part in the tourney if im worthy enuff :lol: so dats it… know anymore places to play kai (the ones that could possibly boast some challengers)?
…at least i got some eye candy from the jap chicks hu went there (ive still no idea how im gonna fair wid BC players)
no, sorry, i dont know where else to play in richmond… mvc2 isnt a big thing in richmond, like how KOF is. Rush on 3 road is the only other place that has an MvC2 cabinet in richmond. You’re best bet is to probably hit up Jonny Zee’s, because even the scrubs there are pretty decent.

I agree… its at CHQ, but its 1 dollar as well… guilty gear XX was 1 dollar at CHQ, so nobody played it and it was removed… why wont they learn?
I finally found out how to get to jz’s from my place (thanks to ponti’s help) huraah for me! so ill try to get there today at around 12pm till 6pm (gonna wait and look around till ponti arrives at 4pm)… so once again, anyone who’s reading this and is available, you know where to go… see yuz! hope i dont get lost :lol:
Yeah, I knew that. I came to the arcade with the motions to select the secret characters written on a text message on my cell phone. I tried Zero and he is cool, but cheap. I didn’t try Evil Ken myself, but I played against in him single player. He’s rather predictable. Any time he teleports, you can usually punish him. I really wish they had set the language to English so that I could have read those dialogues before each match.
CHQ? Where’s that? Isn’t that in Metrotown or something?
Perhaps we should request for Johnny Zee’s to get SVC Chaos? That’d be nice and convenient. It’s easy to get there, and then they could replace old Metal Slug 2 with SVC Chaos so that they’d have KOF 2002 and SVC in the same cabinet.

hey no problem kai dont expect too much tho, i still got my ass handed to me on a platter by tao, he REALLY deserves the title of being #1 (now im having second thots abt joining the tourney) and there were 2 more ppl hu beat me yesterday… i think the other one was alex and sum other dude hu used magneto, sentinel, and storm i love playin here! the atmosphere is great and the people are nice… makes me wanna polish my skills even more (with help from you guys, of course). hmmm… nextime you see me archer, just say hi. i wuz pretty lonesome when ponti and tao left at around 3pm, but alvin gave me some good company tho. superluu just dropped by and went off after about 8 matches between us (i think he beat me 6 to 2). ill be at jz again dis saturday to check out the seattle players hu are comin for the tourney as well as play with other bc gamers i havent faced off with so ill see you by then!
