he probably thought “grab” meant the normal grab… command grab is damn useful. you shouldn’t be using the normal grab when in genei jin anyway…
nope no yun player activates the genie jin thinking. o yay now i get to grab me urien and do a combo on him that will do the same damage as his hp does on me.
yun players activate the genie jin to do alot of damage, they want a combo.
thats why you hardly EVER see them go straight for the grab they will kick you for a while then when they see you are not stupid enough to think you can parry it, they walk forward and grab you.
the only real “threat” coming from the grab is to try to make ppl think you are goin to go for it have them try to jump away and then combo.
to me its almost a relief to be grabed by yun in genie jin.
if this grab is as dangerous as you say then why dont we see it more often? why dont ppl just go sraight for the grab first instead of frantically switching between high and low hits.
becuase its not enough.
it woudl be great if yuns stamina was’nt so low but the damage scaling on the command grab combos is hilerios.
and all alot of chars need to make it up is a hp and a throw.most times even less than that.

er… have you ever seen what yun can do after a command grab? srk kick, shoulder ram, into random damaging gj combo. all yun players use it. i don’t know why you haven’t seen anyone use it
i think ALL yun players think command grab sometime during pressure…
my yun sucks right now… but hey i’ll play you guys for whatever… i’m still learning the game but i do know that yun’s command grab is hella deadly.

Genei Jin is such a good super because (like Aegis Reflector), you have GUARANTEED damage. it doesn’t matter if it’s block damage or as some people think, crappy damage due to the reduction from the command grab. Yun can still get some in. Yang can do the same with Sei’ei Enbu, but it’s nowhere as threatening as Genei Jin. so other than Yun, it’s really just Urien who has the ability to deal guaranteed damage. another thing that makes Genei Jin so damn good is the short bar. FATBEAR posted a link to a Genei Jin sequence that can pretty much restock the bar. so you get 2 in a row. somewhat. Shippu can’t do that. Houyoukusen can’t do that.
now regarding the command grab being the Yun player’s fall, i beg to differ. sure the main point is to combo the hell out of the opponent, but like i mentioned, big combo or not, you’re still eating some. then after the bar runs out, all Yun has to do is to run away and build the bar again. frustrating as heck. so whatever, right? just chase the runt down, right? easier said than done.
bottomline is, Genei Jin is too good.
edit: twds + forward isn’t the only overhead that Yun can use. i’m sure y’all know about the UOH. KO uses this a lot to COMBO into low short x2 -> twds + fierce and bam. you’re in the air, life dwindling. regarding reversals, it’s a nice thing to have, but when the stakes are high, you won’t see too many attempts at reversing a Genei Jin active Yun’s twds + forward.

i’ve been to movie land once and the 3S cabinet is prettey small. I remember i had to give my opponent some space cuz he’s “BIG” i mean big, like overweight, so everytime i had to block, i slightly change the angle of how i move the stick. Wierd eh?
