Sorry guys… i cant come to EVO this year… i still got alot of problems playing ken… i need to sort those out before i even think about going. not to mention, this Ken craze is spreading… everyone is fuckin using him. its so homosexual the games I have with ken. Sit down and block… its impossible to block everything, so eat a super here and there… so gay.
i’ll make sure to come next year tho… hopefully ill be beasting ken, since everyone in BC (Other than you two) uses the fucker, so ill get practice nomatter who i play at jzee’s. Seriously… go to Yun or Chun Li people… why Ken WHY!
You don’t want people to switch to yun. You think you can’t block everything against ken. Think of that but faster. And with a smaller super that does more damage. And the damage is almost guaranteed!
I agree with KABUKIMONO, usually i eat GUMBY’s YUN with MAKOTO, it’s becuase he chockes alot:lol: , but one time when he played smart with YUN he kept running away and charging super, all i can do is go after him, and when he activates his super, i try to guess where will he hit next and parry his move, but that’s too risky because once i get hit, he can continue with his combos and do major damage. So all i can do is block, hoping he wont grab me. He used 3 supers in one round. Dangerous!:eek:
I find Yun to be easier for me than Ken is. I can beat Gumby and Joon and Tao’s Yuns WAY more easily than i can beat thier Kens (maybe not Gumby’s ken, cause he doesnt use him)…fuck banning Chun li in Japan… they should ban Ken… he has no counters (other than Chun Li… who isnt really a counter either. just does well against him)… he counters EVERYONE.
Actually a well played Yun works really well against ken. It’s hard for ken to deal with the kind of pressure a good yun can offer up. Of course a Turtley Chunli also works well on ken but Turtly Chun Li works well on everyone.
Necro has some stuff he can do to ken. Especialy standing strong it beats out the low foward everytime effectively keeping ken out. I think my biggest challenge when playing against ken is cornering him. Because that is were ken is weakest when you have him cornered. Of course if he has you cornered then the mixups get almost as ridiculus as Yun.
Just be patient against ken because his best strategies are basic (sorta) he owns random for free.

O yeah, and one more thing. Before Ncubed in Nebraska about 2 years ago, there was this up and comming Yun player in Cali by the name of Pyro Lee. He wasen’t all that special back then, in fact we played alot of matches on the DC after Evo2k2 and I was spanking him flat out. Now he is one of the best 3S players in the country. The one thing(besides going to Japan)that really helped him excel with Yun, what really gave him the knowledge to make a serious break-thru was KSK’s advice at that tournie. He said, “RUN AWAY”. KSK said “Build your meter”, and when you feel the enemy comming in too fast or too hard while your running away “You attack”. Thats the power of Yun. Run away, jump back roundhouse for days man, then attack. Make them come to you, make them come, and then punish HARD…

alot of chars can reverse yuns hop over head kick (towards and forward). after it hits them while genie jin is active.
dont try to block it let it hit you and reverseiimmediately with any super that comes out in under 3 frames.

there’s probably more, i dont care what anyone sais yun and genie jin is never more than an anoyance, its not a real threat againts anyone if you dont let it be.
just block low and watch for overheads

thats the last thing a yun player wants to do when they activate there precios genie jin. if they grab you, know that you have defeated them mentally.
now as for ken haah he is just a stupid char that most just natrually gravitate to becuase they cant win with any other char. most very ken player who has “chosen” him as there main fighter ahha started out playing with a diffrent char and could’nt make the cut so they do what they have to win given there limited resources.
ken does’nt have to take any risks to kill you.
most every other char has to put there ass on the line in some sort of guessing game to win.
ken does not need to do this. it alot easier to play a solid game with ken than it is with most chars becuase its such a simple and basic fighting style.
i think a big reason why ken is so “good” is simply becuase the other chars are so much harder to play with.

your makoto would improve ten fold if you came on this trip, in order for this to happen you dont necessarily have to win any matches either. you could lose every sigle match you have againts ken down there but you would still improve greatly.
and taking third strike out of the picture complety it will be a fun trip we could go to disney land.ahahah

first of all not every one down there is goin to be at alvins level.secondly they wont know how you fight, another reason alvins ken does so well againts you is becuase he knows how you play.
wtf? The grab is part of the genei jin mixup. It sets up alot of big combos. If you don’t think the command grab is dangerous then you don’t know what your talking about.
