dc is better than console version? maybe… but just cause you don’t shell out tokens to play. dc version is good and all, but it does screw up my timing BIG TIME (specially cause i use yun).

Went and played at Sunny Vale Golf Land today.

There was a white guy named Alex who was absolutley fucking crazy… Had one nutty nutty storm. Had one nutty sent. I didn’t beat him today, I only played him 2 or 3 times… took me hella tries last year to beat him, but no such luck tonight. He would beat everyone in Canada for sure. His screen name is “The Chunksta”…
Then there was this guy using Mag/Storm/Sent-a who had a crazy rushdown game. I later learned this was Mikey Rasphone… I didn’t play him cuz when it was my turn, he wasn’t on the machine anymore. Imagine a crazed msp player using sent-a instead of psylocke. Very impressive.
I played Cableguy86 3 or 4 times I think? Our first match, I OCV’d him with Sentinel to the delight of the crowd [oh my god murder], but every other match after that he beat me. Got owned hard in one match… guy is hella good… His cable is really solid, as well as his Sentinel.
Then there was Hiro (hydro) from Oakland… I played him once and I won, but he was using Ironman, so I don’t conisder it a REAL win hahaha… his sentinel was pretty good too.
There was 2 REALLY good MSP players and Ohayo who was using Strider/Doom.
Thats about it… my max win streak was 2. Won single matches a few times… Teams used Mag/Cable/Sent (someone told me to use this team but start the BEAST [sent]) (2 wins) Sent/Storm/Commando (single wins)and Storm/Sent/Cable (single win)…
I was about to win another match too I had commando in with like 5% life and around 10% sentinel with 2 bars and he had psylocke and mags with the assist out and magneto was in the air… I do the motion for corridor and all the machines turn off and SVGL closes.
Well thats about it for updates… only my Mags and Storm improved this trip… Sent and Cable are about the same… I’ll be chillin and veggin out tomorrow … hehe
vincent, yeah i did notice the timing differences for genei jin… they were easier! lol
and as for dc vs arcade, these minor timing differences shouldn’t bother you. it’s about getting the guys in the combos. the timings you can work out. however, losing unblockables sucks, but it’s only a matter of preference from then on. you can’t say however that the game designers meant for it to be there therefore, it’s right. because if you look at dumb characters like cable and sentinel… i doubt the game designers had in mind that four characters would ruin the game so to speak.
regardless, playing on either console or arcade will increase your skill in the other system. the game is not THAT much different. only the controllers and settings change.
kyle: don’t worry, i’ll start playing marvel again. less than 1/5 of my games in edmonton were ocv’s… like wayy lesss almost 1/10 so that pissed me off. when you come back, we’ll have some marvel sessions and hopefully you can teach me a thing or two. i’m about a year and a half behind in the game.
you’d think i got better after playing jones but i only learned how to beat jones. with BLACKHEART and on shitty controllers. i wanna play on something i can use like the cvs2 pro sticks. the JZ sticks are getting too gay for me now fudge
