Ego is the reason most people are never able to progress in fighting games, regardless of the game and it’s balance
This is true in general. I had to get over myself really quickly when I first started. I still get a little big-headed every now and then, but luckily I know someone who’s more than ready to remind me of my place.
If he’s not around, I watch the danisens and wish I could have competition like that every day of the week.
Alright, screw this thread. I’m going to learn Japanese.
I’ve noticed a lot of ego coming from 3S players, even though I’m playing Q. Sending hatemail win or lose, telling me to “get the fuck out of their game”. It makes the wins that much sweeter, but it really doesn’t seem like a welcoming community for someone just learning the game.
lol I think alot of Third strike players are scrubs masked with elitist attitudes…just because “parrying is hardcore”.
Damn, there are more Sean players on SRK than I realized hahaha. I don’t feel like the odd man out as much anymore.
Almost everyone might dick around with him cause he’s stupid, but no one actually uses Sean.
If you’re beating them and they’re sending hatemail they don’t really play the game very much. Everyone I know who is serious about the game put their ego aside for the most part a long time ago. No one worth anything sends hatemail on psn/live. Unless they’re drunk or in a bad mood.
Actually…I use Sean as my main character. I also use Ibuki, Ken, Makoto and Yang but Sean is my best character.
Ok well you won’t at some point in the future when you’re actually serious.
i doubt you will get as much hate mail on sf3 as you would on sf4, its just weird i think,
i could get some one in the corner and use aegis reflector and keep doing corner pressure and win, but i dont get hate mail.
but when i play sf4 if i use guile or ryu i seem to get hate mail, maybe its cause i spam fireballs
also since iv gotten oe i have not played it all the time but the little bit of time i do play it i like to use urein, as stupid as you guys will think this sounds i find him better and easyer for me to use then ken or chun. there awkward i find compared to urein.
also Q is a boss too
This isn’t hatemail, but more of a general thing about how bad online is.
I just encountered these two profiles in a tournament
Not the most subtle booster I’ve ever seen, I’ll tell you what
-
That’s pretty hilarious.
-
YOU HAD OE IN 08!?
I haven’t gotten any, but I’m trying with Ken and Q.
Note: Why am I winning with Q? This blows my mind… Don’t let me taunt!!!
Weird things happen with tournaments … it seems like if you leave at any point before the bracket is 100% finished it counts as a disconnect, even if you were already knocked out.
Somebody disconnected during a player match on me and I got 2% from that.
The camera’s date resets every time I replace the batteries, it’s gotten to the point where I don’t even bother with it
Yeah that’s a good point, I went up to 3% when I left the tournament pictured. It was just too perfect to pass up though, I had to take a picture
you were supposed to go along with it man
I knew it was just you hadn’t set it.
Wow you can ban up to 3 characters? (Sorry if this is off-topic) if only SF4 had this… Well I guess thats cool @ not at the same time. New players would probably ban Ken, as theyll think flowcharting is the only way to play him >.> (/main). Gill should be banned auto though if they put the option on
Someone is trying 3S for the first time and you think cheesing with yun is the best way to get them to stick around?
…
…
.
Look at the names.
But w/e, if someone wants to waste their time boosting and it makes them feel good about themselves, let them. They’re clearly sad enough IRL already.
Cause NO ONE remotely notable cares about online ranking for fighting games.
