God, this is annoying. Playing this at parties and having every single person not know that they have to press X to continue…every time.

So did anyone attend the IG panel? Or did they do a Q&A with the audience and if yes, what did people say and what was IG’s answer?

Hope you don’t mind DTJB but I’m just gunna go ahead and cut and paste your post into this thread since it’s a partial answer to my original question.

[LEFT]Went to UFGT, pretty awesome.:rock:Decided to go to the 3rd Strike panel. Here’s what I remember from memory, I think the whole thing will be put online as well.

-Brief history of Iron Galaxy, made up of former employees of Midway. Decided to band together once they realized the end times were near.
-Worked on smaller projects in the past, 3S is their first big project.
-Have a cab in their offices to get a hands on feel of the game, realized they’ll never get to the community’s level of expertise which is why they sought help from the community.
-3SO is based on the PS2 version of the game. Reason behind this: try to take the PS2 code Capcom made and hope to fix the mistakes that were made or take the arcade code and in the process of emulating it make even bigger mistakes.
-Really like the benefits of GGPO. Some of the reasons the online sucks, aside from the fact that GGPO isn’t a device to fix ALL common online issues, is that they were SO focused on GGPO, they forgot to implement some of the more common features developers use in making online for games.
-Reason for filters over traced over sprites: tracing them would take so much time and they didn’t think the look would really hold up.
-Have no intention of re-balancing 3S EVER. If they changed 3S, then it’s no longer 3S.
-A few things they hope to fix: super meter length, bugs, Ryu’s bag, Urien’s Aegis color, sound issues, change the color of the art in the HUD portraits during a clone match so there’s less confusion with who’s who, online issues like finding more than 8 lobbies on PS3 version and uploading to the YouTube server on 360 version.
-Some ideas they had, especially for uploading, they couldn’t do because they wouldn’t get permission from Sony and Microsoft due to their restrictions. Hoping to convince them otherwise.

One recommendation I had was to fix Twelve’s voice during his X-COPY super. I was told this is something they won’t be able to do because the only audio files they have access to are the regular ones and they don’t want to re-distort them from scratch and have them sound completely different.

Finally, they have already started planning the development of the patch and they’ll take any ideas on their website, but they have no launch date planned. This is also a job they’re not being financially compensated for so it’s more something they’re doing for the 3S fans and not for a paycheck.[/LEFT]

Huh, if it’s based on the PS2 version of the game I wonder why they nixed the music transitions. At any rate, it’s nice that they’re actually patching stuff, although the lack of Twelve voice distortion is kind of a letdown.
