3sOE at UFGT

^ i’m looking forward to seeing the stream since once we know where they’re headed, we can communicate a lot more effectively instead of shouting ideas that have no chance of making it in.

btw ryan, the record function in regular training mode does work on PS3. i used it the other day and it seemed fine. using the save state helps too. after recording, make sure you’re selecting “replay” instead of the normal training option at the top.

Holy shit…I figured everyone was just misinterpreting the panel. I never thought they’d actually have a patch. I’ll type up some more detailed notes soon.

One thing I think we really need is blind select, at least in ranked. I don’t care which character I’m up against, I just want to avoid the retards that feel the need to run out the counter dancing around the select screen only to jump right back to Akuma at the last second.

anyone shouting rebalance needs to have their account suspended. mods hop on it.

man those guys commenting on the front page article are fucking faggots. you dont tweak something that is perfect. niggas still be hatin on chun, like shes the only good character in the game lol

i really think we should vote for some kind of ambassador (at least from the usa perspective) that could represent this game in its best interest yea?

Cool that they are willing to help out.

Besides the obvious fixes and original music/hud, I also want the music transitions to be more smoother, probably closer to PS2 transition, also have the New Generation and 2nd Impact music stay put and not restart, also support 4:3 aspect ratios for higher resolutions (because 640x480 is the only supported resolution).

I don’t think they can change the music to how it was in the PS2 version without completely re-coding the game. In the PS2 version, every round theme for a song used about 6 different music files alone, and the game would switch at a certain point in time for a seamless transition. I would hope that they could at least make the NG/2I music not restart after every round, though.

I got some tweets back from Iron Galaxy @itotheg and it seems they are compiling stuff from multiple forums and emails. I just hope they are getting the right stuff.

Ryan if you wanna hit them up, contact@irongalaxystudios.com is their email.

I like that thread we had a while back that listed out the problems. But reading through it now, a lot of it is dated. It’d be great if we could get together a complete list of the issues that need to be fixed in order of how big a deal they are and then send it their way. I’m sure we won’t get everything but this is our chance to let them know and maybe get a better port out of the whole thing.

Remake the thread.

I’m sure it’s slightly obvious which ones are “High Priority” and ones that “Would be nice”

Yeah there needs to be a reason for Iron Galaxy to listen and differentiate between ignorant whining vs legit experience. Any kind of petition or something that can be put together to show the community support for the chosen speaker?

Anybody find an archive of the 3s portion of the competition? Don’t know if it’ll be ugly or not but I’d like to check it out at lease.

people still want the NG and SI backgrounds, right? that’s all I want.

Graphics changes are just data to substitute. They have been able to change it for the worst, they must be able to do it for the best.
This include the portraits not being correctly oriented and having different colors than the one you select.
Same for SA bars length.
No idea about music, but should not be really complex IMO.

For the training mode, hitboxes are very easy to add, same for input display.

I had the only good comment on the front page article.

MAKE THE FUCKING GAME WORK PROPERLY.

This includes original HUD, win counters, silly ass color glitches, and a bunch of other issues.

Spooky attended the panel and told me 3SOE was coded from the PS2 version which was the reason the glitches we encounter happened. CPS3 wasn’t considered due to limited time. Weird ass blowup.

I would pay a lot of money for actually accurate, arcade perfect CPS3 emulated version with no input lag. wouldn’t have to sell it for $15, I would pay a lot more than that.

that’s funny because before the game came out, i remember a bunch of people asked ono on his twitter would it would be based on and he always responded with “arcade 990512.” but i think we definitely need to see the panel ourselves. they openly said they based it on PS2? the dreamcast menu glitch and dreamcast music format suggested otherwise this whole time. when’s that stream supposed to be out, anyway?

IDK how you can tell it’s specificly the DC version when the PS2 and DC versions are pretty much identical. But yeah, that was obviously already known that no way in hell is 3SOE based on the arcade version roms like was said. Capcom lied, not big surprise.

In the DC version, the music doesn’t transition smoothly between rounds like it does in the arcade and PS2 versions. Given that 3SOE uses the same music coding alogrithm as the DC version, it’s pretty much a dead giveaway.
