Because I actually play 3s even tho I think it sucks. I was checking the Akuma forum and saw this thread.
You can’t compare the two games, both games require a different mindset, fundamentals and awareness. We have like 3 threads like this already, I hope this is the last one.
I honestly didn’t even bother reading the OP, all i seen was ShinAkuma wave his SF4 flag in the 3s thread, which I find pretty comical. Sure your entitled to your own opinion ShinAkuma, doesn’t stop you from being a douche.

Thread title, not to mention I’ve seen you post before about 3s being garbage and SF4 being better.
Only time I remember playing you was in that random online tournament where… I put you in losers, I mean if online means something to you which apparently it does.

Well as a guy who plays both games, I find the SF4 to be not that bad for a first going but it is kinda annoying when cant really control opponents options very well with some characters (their pokes just dont hit in the right way and they dont have enough frame advantage for you to make too many mixups off of them) SF4 is more of a game of patience in the end whether you’re on offense or defense. Its an hell of an easy game to play but hard to have the ability to put up with at times.
I just play some 3s (or Vampire Savior) when im tired of SF4. Its a nice change of pace and scenery.
Which still has nothing to do with the fact that I never mentioned SF4.

OT-I haven’t played SF4 yet, so I’m curious to see if it really plays as old school as everyone says. I didn’t miss the fireball traps and spam-based strategies in the SF2 games, but I guess the Focus Attacks throw a wrench in there don’t they?

I’m not familiar with your posts, so I’m not sure if you’re trolling, but just after reading the comments in this thread, it could be said in general on forums that it’s hard to determine what’s considered trolling (it’s subjective and subtle at times), but there ARE some obvious trolling experts online. If the same ppl only post short, negative comments that seem like complaints w/o offering any positive, constructive feedback, or asking for help/tips cos they’re confused or stressed over a game, and they do it all the time, then someone will think it’s trolling, BUT on the other hand, if someone were to post “3S RULES!” over and over, and little else, or just repeat what’s already been said a ton of times (not adding to the conversation with original ideas/thoughts), it’s still typically viewed as trolling, so it’s not necessarily a double standard. I take it that you already realized this at some point, if not immediately. In the wake of being positive, calm, considerate, etc., trolling seems like a bad dream; an impossible reality.
Trolling also tends to seem like a way to get attention by trying to piss ppl off by acting negative, whiny, etc., instead of trying to start a debate or simply seek new information. I personally don’t care, really, if ppl ask the same info here and there cos I don’t expect ppl (esp. new ppl) to read everything that’s already been posted (just make some effort), or cos they’re still learning the forum rules but at least show a little common sense.
I HATE arguing; I LOVE debating. Learning something new is great. Conflict just distracts from the debate. I’d say EVERYone is entitled to a little ranting now and then if it’s about a game and not a person (unless it’s to defend oneself in a reasonable way).
You just demonstrated that you don’t know what you’re talking about. The situation you described can be dealt with. It’s just as dumb as a scrub saying “OMG you dp everytime I can’t do anything !!!”. You don’t know what to do, so the game is shit. Riiiiiight.
You can’t play SF4 and expect everything to work like it did in 3s. We all know that the 3 series are very different from the other SF series. Look at the ST, A3 or CVS2 players. Learning SF4 is natural for them, because the basics are the same.
On the other hand 3s players struggle because their precious parry isn’t available, and instead of changing their ways of thinking, they say that 4 is shit (easy huh ?).
You got all the right in the world to prefer 3s to 4, but don’t say the game is garbage when you didn’t even took 5 fucking minutes to learn how to deal with a jab masher.

Those matches didn’t prove anything. If anything, they show you know combos. Great.
Street Figther 3 got the best fucking soundtrack ever for a fighting game. thats a factor for me enjoying it alot.

Case in point: You don’t see me going after somebody and making a big ruckus cause they don’t like SF4. You don’t like it, that’s fine, it’s not for everybody. Same goes for 3s, MK or any other game.
3s is definitely not trash. neither is sf4. 3s is the better game but this is sf4’s first incarnation so expect the game to be more fun to play in future installments. oh and parries are semi broken and FA’s will replace them. if you really know what the opponent is going to do next, don’t option-select safe parries every time you jump in the air, wake up throw tech, etc…
i love 3s and the idea of parries but they certainly aren’t perfect in sf3. however, they make the game more fun to play and watch. if there were more FA parries in sf4 it would be more interesting imho but they can be easily broken.
I’m on a Mac so I can’t play on GGPO, but I’ll do you one better. I’m on the road a lot. What town do you live in? If I’m playing anywhere near where you live, I"ll come out to whatever arcade you play at or even your house. And yes I’m dead serious.
