This is so wrong. the Daigo parry got mad ppl into 3rd strike. I was one of em. We all rode his nuts like a chariot. I remember some vids of him playing 3rd Strike after a long break went up on youtube and no one believed it was really Daigo because he lost.
I’m curious as to what the lineup will be. As for the full parry, it’s happened before at high level tourneys years before EVO 2k4.

Yes it got people into 3s, and people were already on hits nuts…but Read the whole thing. It’s not to the same extent it is now. You never saw people asking for pictures and autographs of him before SF IV. Now at every major tournament, fool is dead tired from all the attention he receives.

itz not like evo is the be all, end all of fighting games…the game being in the lineup shouldnt dictate itz staying alive…all 3s players now are in the same position now that GG was in a couple years ago…Thats why they let ya run side tourneys…show em that the community is still alive and stronger than the sf4 one…i honestly dont care too much for evo but if it really iz thatimportant, than jus show them, thats all it takes…fyi i hate sf4 but <3 viper…hence if viper was not in sf4 i wouldnt be playin it…3s all day:lovin:

After all of the exposure that the Daigo video gave your tournament series, now you trash the game because you’re more concerned about dollar bills than the quality of the fighting game. I guess I can’t blame you though, I mean if you’re just trying to raise the prestige, number of entrants and potential sponsors then I guess it’s the right move from a business standpoint. But ethically? Shameful.

Evo owes it to the players to put on a 3s tournament because of a 5 year old (6 as of evo2k10) video featuring two players who don’t even care about 3s anymore, and only enter 3s events because a lot of their comp also stopped playing and they can still place with fading skill sets.
You know, the B3 Alpha 2 finals were really good too… lets throw that in too, just to be ethical and all

Have you ever watched the top 8 of 3S or been to EVO in the past? It’s so incredibly stale it’s unreal. Go back the last few years and see how many Chuns and Yuns place top 8 compared to the rest of the cast in 3S EVO. There is nothing redeeming about 3S at EVO the last few years. People were booing the finals the last two years.

Not only is there little character variety in EVO3S but the quality of play is lacking. People who want 3S to continue as a main game at EVO make it sound like there is Cooperation Cup or SBO level play going on. Fact is that you never see any Hugo, or Remy, or Q players doing much of anything. And the endless army of Chun and Yun players seem to have no end (until now because 3S is done for at EVO).
If 3S was actually fun to watch at EVO, more character variety for example, then maybe it wouldn’t be staler than year old bread.

Yeah, a million “I still play it!”… Only half of them admit they’ve got no one to play it with because their scene is dead. Mostly everyone else has moved on after they’ve played better games. How 3s survived even CVS2 coming out I’ll never know, because that game was infinitely better than turd strike.

I’m not going to derail the thread after this anymore but let me say one final thing.
I don’t even play 3s homie. I could care less about the 3s community. I’ve never been to denjin arcade and have been to FFA only once and hated it. Heck, I dislike people who think 3s is the one and only game that matters. However, I’m united with them only by the fact that I think SF IV is garbage.
No bias here, I’m not a 3s fanboy who hates sf iv. I just hate sf iv. There’s no reason to play a game if you don’t like it just because everybody else is doing it. That’s a sheep mindset, much like the 2009 sf4 community with all these high school freshmen trying to fit in…The game is scrubby and it favors matchups unlike any other game I’ve ever played…Not only that, never before have I had to exert so much effort just to beat a scrub in a single game.
I heard LI Joe talk about how Sagat in SF4 is not top tier like 3s chun…maybe not in terms of tools, but at least it took effort to be good with 3s Chun. You pick chun in 3s and expect to do good pushing buttons, you’re dead wrong. You pick sagat, work on basic ST tactics with Tiger Spamming and Anti Air, you’re set.
Don’t get me started on SF 4 Balrog, the easiest character to learn in any fighting game. If he didn’t have a super meter, he’d still be good. I see you got Rufus in your avatar. I used to play rufus. All I needed to do was dive kick, 50/50, repeat. Wait a bit, if you don’t have an anti air, I can go crazy on you, and if I fuck up my offense, I’ll just ex messiah out…talk about an auto pilot character…
You guys say 3s Chun/Yun is broken but let me say this
In 3s, it takes more skill and mental ability to use Yun’s Genei Jin correctly than anything in SF IV. It also takes more skill as an opposing opponent, to block and defend against Genei Jin without taking damage. Try mashing against that like the typical sf iv player would and see what happens…
