Seriously I’m sick of playing scrubby SF4. Oh btw guys check out this awesome 3s match, no button mashing, no throw mashing, no randomness, just pure 3s gameplay.
ST is too old man, 3s is ‘cool’.
Also a lot of peoples complaints are just fighting games in general. Older games aren’t perfect, in many ways they are full of even more bullshit. When you get hit with an denjin or urien unblockables, you’ll be calling 3s a broken mess. You can mash SRK in almost all capcom fighters, you can tick throw all day, you can mash a super, you can turtle, you can do everything you can do in SFIV. You don’t hate SFIV, you hate fighting games.
Right. I thought your whole point was, just because you may not like a game, doesn’t make it horrible. I see what you’re saying now.

i was going to comment on this…but id rather taking enjoyment of watching SF4 players trying to mash something out of blockstun and starting every combo with a jab
I kinda agree with HAV, I love 3s and played it for years, and I think SFIV is pretty good too, but I always noticed 3s has the reputation among people who don’t play it much as being the deepest shit ever, it’s like virtua fighter, everyone who doesn’t play respects it, nobody really knows why.
3s is great, but probably a lil overrated and while it’s a great fighting game, it’s a shitty street fighter game 
that never bothered me.
You act like it was someone other than some random guy that nobody’s ever heard of that made the title of the thread. No reason to blame a bunch of others for something some random guy put up in a thread that other people will see in the recent thread list. Do I think SFIV is a good game in comparison to the older games? No. Do I think it sucks? No (I think the gameplay mechanics are dry but it’s still competitive and other people like it so…yeah). Do I think it’s fun? No. That’s about where I am with it.
In any event I’m at the point where the thread’s done what it’s needed to do and I probably shouldn’t even have made it last this long. Definitely getting closed soon. HAV came in to correct a few people about certain aspects of SFIV, most of the people that are posting in here obviously are here because they like 3S or like 3S completely more than SFIV and that’s about all this thread needs anymore.
Don’t just come in here assuming players like me, Deviljin, and others are scrubs. Do your homework next time. This is major trolling.
So it’s ok for you to think 3s is a “horrible game”, but when others think that SF4 is a “horrible game”, that’s wrong :lol. Nice logic there.
Pacing and feel are hardly minor gripes. I personally feel SF4 is a so so Street Fighter game, “horrible” is a strong word, but I’ll just say I prefer ST, Alpha 2, 3rd Strike etc.
This type of elitist attitude on display here is part of what holds the messageboard/community back imo.

I couldn’t agree more with this.
The first page is the only page worth a damn in the whole thread. We agreed that game feel/speed, bad hitboxes etc. were the culprits, we had a few laughs, some really insightful comments, and that was that. Page 2, 3 and onward is when the trolls and people with nothing to add other than X game sucks with no reasoning behind it showed up.
The thread has run it’s course and should definitely be closed. The title is scrub/flame bait, though the I did agree with the OP’s opinion.
Also, before the thread is closed, I’d like to recommend something that “other” message boards have matured enough to understand: OPINION IS OPINION. They are like assholes, everyone has one. You don’t need to get all crazy/angry/defensive, or coming in here with some elitist jerk attitude. Relax and chill, and let people voice their opinions. If you don’t agree, you skip the post and move on.
There are good posters and players out there. And you know who you are. And there are assholes, and I know who they are lol.

I never said Devil Jin was a scrub. In fact, my only reference to DJ was that he got 9th at Evo. I know because I was there. Right there, ready to fight some Cali guy during the match… so… umm… miss me, please. If saying somebody got 9th at Evo is saying they suck… then… I can’t even think of something clever with which to finish that…
As for the rest of it… I never said it’s wrong to think SF4 is a horrible game. If you think it’s horrible, that’s fine. If you think it’s horrible because of the reversal window (dumb reason), the inputs (another dumb reason) or anything else that doesn’t REALLY affect gameplay, then I think that’s dumb. If my gripes with 3S had to do with other shit that doesn’t REALLY affect the game, then that would be dumb too. Ummm… nothing illogical about that. Try again?
If you don’t like SF4 because of OS, but you claim to love 3S, the only possible explanation is that you don’t know that 3S play is riddled with OS. That’s the only possible explanation…

I respect 3’s players. I couldn’t get into 3s let alone play sf4 on a high level. I do like how much more aggressive sf3 is.

I feel that the speed of the game is what makes it great. I mean ppl like Marvel because it’s fast. When you’re processing that fast in ST isn’t it like speed chess?
I own five ST boards by the way and maybe one day I’ll have five ST h2h cabinets in a row right next to the five 3S h2h cabinets. You think if you saw that in an arcade today, would that setup make money?
Nope. But it would earn you major e-cred. I’d love to open an arcade, I have the ability but it’d be stocked with games no one is really excited to play. 
Sucks.
ST rules. It’s a different world to me. I’m totally out of my realm there but it’s a fun game worth spending time on.
