Forward fierce from far range will beat it out, but isn’t really reliable as much on reaction. On block you won’t be able to punish with it either, so it’s more of a ranged footsie tool than a counter attack.
Jumping in, as was previously mentioned, is a good option too, though be wary of their recovery as they may have time to parry or anti air your jump in.
thinking about reachin coop myself as a sort of last hurrah. never went to japan during the sbo heyday and it can’t be guaranteed that there will be a coop cup 2017. i dont know shit about travelling internationally by myself though lol
on dudley, jima and dan were good dudleys from earlier years but their style might be outdated now. best dudley is kuroda and best source of dudley theory is the kuroda dvd. if dudley did not have overheads or parrying (arguably two of his most valuable assets), kuroda would still be able to consistently win with dudley. think about the gravitas of that claim. he uses dudley’s walk speed to force the opponent into dashing or jumping to regain ground, then punishes both. i would call it essential viewing for all aspiring dudleys.
Traveling to Tokyo is pretty easy. My first time i was pretty worried i wouldnt be able to get around, order food, communicate and id get lost forever and die. Its pretty easy to get by in Tokyo with only English.
Took 2nd at a local. Ricki’s Chun is still gay
I don’t know how to beat this character as oddly few people seem to use her outside of higher level play. Halp pls
I’ve heard Osaka has a scene and I’m fairly certain Fukuoka has players as well. I was curious if Nagoya has a scene. It’s a large city but I personally haven’t seen any recent 3S footage from Nagoya.
Also curious if places like Sendai, Sapporo, and Kobe still have active 3S arcades by any chance?
I don’t know if Fukuoka has Green anymore, but that’s where all the best players migrated to after other arcades like Monkey House closed down. You can easily get there via Hakata Station(I forget which station exactly you need to get off though). If not, you can go to Tenjin(downtown Fukuoka) and play the randoms at the Taito arcade, most of whom are still way better than average American players.
I dunno about Kobe and Sapporo(anymore…I think Georgia is from the Hokkaido region), but I know Sendai has a scene.
Holy shit, I used to go there all the time a couple years ago for sf4 and sf2 on the 10yen machine. I always saw a crowd busy on the 3s machines but never connected the dots! Now I have a reason to go there again next time I visit for vacation.
