3rd Strike General Discussion Thread

You can; I’ve seen JR do it as part of a stun combo.

I hope you all learn from my mistake so you’ll never fall for this again -_-

lol @ the video title

That guy has a very appropriate name.

That’s Cameron from Nebraska. He actually was ranked in the top 10 according to one of the gaming magazines back in the day.

Lots of trickery with this one, lots of set play.

Don’t think he’s bad, but relies on way too many gimmicks and opponent unfamiliarity. The longer you play him the worse he does once you adapt.

Still, lots of potential if he stays solid and works on his neutral game.

Clothesline. From. Hell

Fall for what? Having no awareness of health/to red parry?

Hey guys, I’m looking for teammates for Cooperation Cup. You know if there’s a specific thread where I should post this? (Tried to search for one but it seems there’s no Coop Cup 2016 thead yet)

Any good Dudley players you guys can recommend watching footage of? I’ve been playing Duds quite a bit recently and want to improve with him.

Ask Holddat or Gavin if they have enough teammates on 3rd Strike Junkies.

Top 3 essential viewing: Kokujin, Aiku (Ike) Rori (Loli)

Other notable players: Yomada, Kaeru, Efu (F) BBK, Totsuka Sensei (Totsuka Teacher) Nakamura

Yeah, I’ve watched a lot of Kaeru’s matches the past couple of days (there’s a lot of FT10s with him on hismit’s youtube-channel), as well as a few sets of BBK and Kokujin. Kaeru’s overall decision making seemed easier for me to follow than the two others, so he’s probably the one I feel I’ve learned the most from watching. The Kokujin-set I watched was pretty darn entertaining though.

Haven’t even heard of Aiku and Rori, gonna search a bit for them.

IMO Kaeru is an essential viewing, except for how he approaches some matchups like vs Shotos. Ducking super a whiffed low forward is probably feasible only for him and Kuroda

Orona’s best Elena. Magunamu and Teppei are up there, but then there’s Orona. I wish there were more videos of him besides Coop Cup and the random Fukuoka Green tourneys, because he’s amazing. Dude is a Yun killer.

Aiku is definitely worth seeking out. He doesn’t have the notoriety of Kokujin, but he’s very solid. Rori is from Kansai, so you’re likely to find him in like…a-cho vids or whatever. Also very good, last I remember he was Ouja in the old Danisen rankings.

I didn’t know anything about Orona until this post, so thank you for it.

Do people still play Online Edition on the PS3?

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED
…except Kaeru seems to be able to do it almost on raw reaction, which kind of blows my mind. It seems feasible if you bait the c.MK / c.HK or the other guy is falling into a pattern, though.

While on this topic: what would you say is the best way to deal with shoto c.MK as Dudley? The most reliable punish I’ve found for it on whiff is c.MK, but that’s isn’t very rewarding in the long run.

Best way to deal with it is to jump in attack on shotos.
