I think what seems its a “parry” its just an animation for blocking. Maximilian’s video showed this. Parry is a polarizing feature, you either love it or hate it, and for every third strike fan asking for parrys there are two asking for FADC.
I don’t know what you are saying Kring. So it’s just a block because more people played sf4?
i think araider is right it looked like the little blue effect on block was all when ryu was doing fierce/roundhouse stuff.
ryu’s sweep looks like his 3s sweep more so. animations overall look janky though but that’s the kind of stuff they work on and tweak until the end.
Also… no quick roll just quick tech and throws untechable again? blargh.
Im just trying to justify capcom’s reasons to not include parry in a game. The parry analysis is here https://youtube.com/watch?v=KaGT-mXXUyQ.
Its obviously just a third person analysis, but after watching it again i think he is right.
Just watched it. I agree with much of his speculation but he forgot to note that the beefy counter that makes Chun spin doesn’t call out the “counter” sign on the bottom right/left. This leads me to believe that it is a command counter. Or maybe something like in 3s, where if you dash into a sweep you flip over forward, kinda like adding to the force of the oncoming attack by walking into it.
I agree about the parry, though. I just don’t think the players are quite there yet.
On a side note, I love the speed of the animations, or lack thereof, because it provides real hints as to when you can actually attempt a reversal attack.
AGREE but overhere in America EVERYBODY is shitting on their pants about this game…ROFL
oh oh, it’s time to fall in line behind ryan!
why be optimistic when you can be cool
Cool? I just stated my first impression. That noodle bowl? Give me a fucking break. Clown shoes.
It looks like a mix between sf4 and sfxt.
SF4 looked like trash. This looks considerably better, especially since parry is in.
You guys might want to start a new thread for sf5 talk. Please discuss 3rd strike. Thanks.
I don’t understand why you’d use a thread about a game with good-feeling movement and b+hp to talk about a game whose movement looks to be ass like it’s predecessor.
What does “General Discussion” mean
These two posters have no clue^^
You have something to discuss regarding 3s? Go ahead, nobody is stopping you. This is the GD thread for the 3s board
You don’t like reading about SFV discussion? Start a new conversation. The beautiful thing about a written forum is that multiple discussions can take place at the same time
What a concept!
Now stop.
convenience? Why the heck would you do something seemingly out of place? what are you? twelve and what is this?
3rd Strike general discussion = sf5 talk?
C’mon man.
seeing as how we were mainly discussing the parry mechanic in SFV, I do see it suitable for being in the general discussion section of the 3rd strike forum, to gauge the reaction of 3rd strike players (the only place online where this is possible other than chats on GGPO). And even if we weren’t, some people like myself would like to know what my fellow 3s players think about the trailers. This would be the place to do that.
I really don’t understand why you’re being such a negative nancy about this.
As I mentioned earlier, there’s plenty of space to talk about 2 or 3 different things.
There’s plenty of space but remember that the topic of conversation in this thread is 3rd Strike, not speculation about a different game.
A new thread should be made, if anything, to gauge reactions.
This is general discussion for the 3rd strike board, not general discussion about 3rd strike. That doesn’t even make any sense. Oh so how does Necro dry his pants?
are you guys for real right now?
and how is discussing the parry mechanic in SFV not related to 3s?
The biggest question I ask about Necro is why has no one arrested him for grooming that 14 year old girl that follows him everywhere. Her parents must be worried sick.
…You don’t read very much do you?
Or… You know… Listen to people.
Max agrees with you guys
LI Joe agrees with me
