Would you happen to know if people still play in TO? I have wanted to get into 3S but don’t know anyone who plays locally. Wondering if there is the occasional A&C gathering or something, as it seems to be the place to go these days…
@luckyjim
In Toronto there are some people who play occasionally, used to play or a few that play regularly. A&C is far from ideal though. They care about what makes them money. They are a business after all. I’ll PM you.
I get kind of destroyed by makoto playing ryu. If I can keep her at distance I do alright but the second she is in I eat every mixup and die. I am generally free to command grabs as a whole it seems when under serious pressure.
That guy’s gouki is wack
What makes his Gouki so wack?
Who were the players in that vid? Doesn’t seem like Makaveli beat anyone good there. The first match, Makoto missed like 5 basic executions on the TOD. He fought head on against Makoto with stocked meter in corner so it showed Makaveli didn’t even respect her power.
Online Makoto is usually one of the worse characters to go up against. Her 50/50 mindgames up close are already strong and to include any form of lag in there makes the evasion and reaction more harder to deal with. You have to guess a lot more and the dash up throws, ticks to command are much more annoying. Watch Ruu vs Makoto to get an idea how to stop her from getting in. Crouch short, cr.mp can be good tools.
Kiraki has been playing for less than a year and his Elena is already pretty good. Better than Talbain at least who just refuses to improve after all these years and is almost considered a joke there. Well ok that’s not saying much, I know, but Kiraki is actually good, he’s even been awarded with touzaisen mpv status one time. He just has to improve his defense, play more consistently and he can reach the top Elenas in a few years.
I think this should help both sides of the Makoto vs Ryu equation
It should be noted that you must play almost completely different if you don’t use denjin.
Also if mak is playing seichusen or abare
Would love to hear about this in detail.
A lot of people I’ve played don’t understand makotos mix ups or post-hayate mix ups that well (not saying I 100% understand it or anything though)
Go in OE training mode or get together win a friend and test/check the possibilities. use frame data + makoto videos as reference.
that is great as I do use denjin, I’ll have to give that video another look.

@luckyjim I have sessions at my house once a week, You would be more then welcome as long as your not a thief or asshole.
@MintChip9 Thanks I’ll take you up on that! Was also discussing with @NoMoreFunland about some A&C casuals hopefully this week when ‘World’ opens up again (they just moved)… there are a couple other players that I know play at least occasionally that I’ll try to get to come as well.
It would be so sick if Daigo found a way to pull off the parry again. Too fucking sick.
There’s a website now with more details, The got BAS coming for CvS2, and Santhrax for MvC2.
And registration is open:
Is anyone from here going?
whoa thanks for that video.
i forgot about that song from cvs2. i don’t like cvs but that song rules.
