People don’t only run the nesica system on brand new cabs. They put them into the old versus cities all the time. To me, this means that if you go to japan, 3rd strike will be fucking everywhere.
In some magical dream scenario in which I’m able to go back to Tokyo before all arcades go under, it’s a good thing for me, because it means I get to play 3S in Kamata at that arcade that has a lot of bemani but somehow not one Street Fighter game (or VF, even though judging by the number of lindbergs and the crap on the walls, the game CLEARLY had a presence there at some point ). I bet there would be people there who are bad at the game, and I’d be able to beat. Or maybe the people of Kamata have some kind of vendetta against SF and the Tekken kids would beat me up. (or the Wangan or Gundam VS kids. they’re all equally loud.)
But I guess the more realistic scenario of every small arcade is going to shut down now if Fran3S is right. Ug, I should’ve majored in…whatever you major in to be able to immediately go to Tokyo after graduating.
this is also how i interpreted it.
just means people can access 3S in a lot more places doesn’t it?
and keeps it going with the contemporary arcade scene.
how does it work? will it be an exact copy of it running on CPS3, emulation, or what?
It’s most likely emulation and not a port. How good the emulation is questionable as it doesn’t look good especially how fucked up the scaling is. Another problem is going to be the cost I don’t expect many people to use them. Why spend a 100 yen on a online match when you could just spend 50 yen on the real hardware version.
I think it’s a given it will be an emulation but as to how accurate it will be is the big question. I wonder how accurate Capcom’s internal emulation will be in comparison to IG’s Frankenstein’s monster of a port (a pretty good port all things considered now after the patch, but still a pretty odd port). The Nesica machines have online play, right? I’d assume that Capcom would use delay-based netcode for that.
I’d rather have CPS3 (I’m sure that’s true for everyone) but I guess it’s good that there’s another way to play 3s out there. and if it’s emulation it can always be improved over time I guess? ShmupMAME proves it’s at least possible to get in the ballpark of CPS3 even if it’s not identical.
I wonder if they’re committed to improving accuracy over time?
If Nesica machines have online play, I never figured out how to use it. They certainly have head to head, the same as any other fighting cabinet. (aside from the off few that aren’t hooked up to a second player cab, of course…) I used to assume they did, but I think that was just because of the little connected to the internet thing in the corner. I barely know any Japanese though, so I could’ve missed something.
What the hell are all you homos talking about
Where are my stupid questions and scrub mentalities?
There’s no online play on the machines. Its connected to the net to keep track of stats, ranks, etc.
Neiman gave me some good advice about life tonight
Better put it to good use!!!
Call the cat Win Streak, good name for a cat.
nice cat,lance
another fitting name could be "mantis / tourouzan bullshit"
kinda long but eh
“never eat yellow snow” ?
we’ll see
in any case,we were simply discussing about possible scenarios / consequences
there’s really no need to get upset about it
Ill report back whenever I see any nesica systems.
If its in a hd cab it’s auto unplayable.
I hope to try it out in a CRT old skool cab. If the game is off at all it will suck because no one will give it the time of day.
uh, who sounded upset again?
Naha is a grungy dirty ass arcade, and they know no cabinet other than versus city. 50% of them were running nesica or ringedge 2(guilty gear and under night run on this).
Just sayin
Sanchez mentioned something while he was behind the mic at a Guilty Gear tournament, he was talking about a ‘classic evo’ that’s supposed to happen this fall, with the classic games (3S, MvC2, CvS2).

Anyone heard anything about that? o_O
“Better save up those parries, Dander.”
I don’t think it’s a classic evo tournament but more of a throwback in general terms. He may be referring to the Daigo Parry 10th Anniversary tournament that Watts is throwing at Cal State Poly. I’m hoping to enter but I may forget about it between now and then. I’m guessing they will be trying to run it like old B tournament series they had before evo had even been established. I recall it B4 being the event b4 the daigo parry.
