I dunno about that sir…I have a pretty set list (that’s fuckin’ sad)
Perfect Dark Zero (maybe)
Dead or Alive 4 (maybe)
Import Tuner Challenge (the US ver of the NEW Tokyo Xtreme Racer)
Forza 2
Halo 3
RE5
GTA4
MGS4 Substance
King of Fighters MI2/2006
Any 2D fighter that STILL makes it to the system (KOF XI, GGXX/, NGBC, etc)
That’s about it for my 360 unless something else comes out that is the shit or if more PS3 Killer Apps get a “Substance” like release.
And XBLive Arcade stuff like Uno and ol’ skool SF’s.
Later Edit: OH SHIT - THEY HAVE BOMBERMAN!!! and it’s ONLINE
ANOTHER Later Edit: They redid the 360 ver of “The Godfather” and made it BETTER?!
Well, thing about CoD2 is that come November, it’ll be Platinum Hit’d. So will probably PDZ and I pray Condemned, so they’ll be dropped to 20/30. I picked up Oblivion and DOA4 and have been living off of it for a while now, and it’ll prolly carry over until November, when I splurge on the reduced-price launch titles.
That’s why I got DOA4 and Oblivion. They’ll last me a few hundred hours each.
DOA4 is good, and I’d go for Call Of Duty 2 over Perfect Dark Zero. Both games still have fairly big communities online but Call Of Duty 2 is the better game overall (online AND offline). Perfect Dark Zero is still good though, playing Infection on PDZ is hella fun.
Bomberman Act Zero looks shit, if that’s the one you’re referring to. Saturn Bomberman has been rumoured to come to Marketplace. Any annoucements probably won’t be for a while so Konami can ride the Act Zero cashcow for what its worth but yeah, it looks shit. Bomberman with a storyline… eurgh.
360 version of Godfather isn’t really that much better than the Xbox version. They’re adding some more execution moves to the game and… yeah. Other than that, it’s the usual spit and polish job. No new missions or anything, IIRC.
Mycah, does Oblivion not interest you at all? It’s a fantastic game, really cool for mucking around in and killing time.
PDZ is already $30 new, Circuit City had it for $20 a couple weeks ago - same goes with Kameo
A lot of 360 games are dropping in price now, Ridge Racer is $20, Hitman is $35, Far Cry is $30
Call of Duty 2 is greart, but 3 is coming out so might as well wait for that. If you get CoD tho make sure you get the Game of the YEar edition cause yo’ull get some free maps (which cost money to download in the xbox marketplace)
but if you casn find a really cheap copy might be better offf getting that and buying the maps
The Call Of Duty 2 maps cost 500 Microsoft Points, which works out to $6.25. So a bit of mental maths before you buy might help you save a few dollars. Definitely worth getting the game one way or another.
I heard The Godfather had MUCH better graphics on 360
I’ve been waiting on PDZ Since the Gamecube Launch Days…I might get it on GP alone, no matter how much of a rushed letdown it is.
Bomberman: Act Zero does look a little odd but they honestly took the series back to it’s roots - do some reading, I’m f’real - and Saturn Bomberman in the Marketplace? - would it be ONLINE PLAYABLE?!
Also ALL of my X-Box games are live playable - it has to be something SPECIAL for me to get it without an online mode (GTA, Godfather, MGS, etc)
And a LOT of games you guys posted up do NOT intrest me at all (hence why I posted my list lol)
And as for the question of Oblivion being of intrest to me?..NO - the “Fantasy” setting is THE biggest turnoff ever, I fuckin’ HATE Medievil/D&D bullshit.
Howcan you not be interested in Oblivion? It’s awesome! Flat-out, straight-up, pulled-in, hands down AWESOME!
But yeah, GRAW is THE FPS (for offline and online play) on the 360 atm. And unlike Halo 2, it isn’t overrun with many a hacker right now. And Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is still modestly popular online.
Bomberman Act Zero looks like crap from the multiplayer standpoint. Bomberman with health meters? That kills it right there. Not to mention the uberfob trailers they have posted online and on Marketplace. I hope and pray that Saturn Bomberman does come through, as it would be sweet to get back to the core Bomberman play, look, and feel.
Maybe I didn’t play it enough, but I got so frustrated with how piss poor PDZ was that I returned it 24 hours after purchase. The single player campaign didn’t hold my interest, and the multiplayer felt like gahbage.
I have to second the Anti-Oblivion stance. I’m so sick of the fantasy LOTR bullshit. I was never into games that involved 20 sided dice or anything remotely related to it. I don’t find anything “fun” in wandering around some huge place raising experience points by pressing A a billion times. Where’s the game in that?
Give some of the other XBLA titles a shot. People who know me know that I’ll rep Geometry Wars like my life depends on it.
Think of Dead Rising as a GTA-like game where you can go anywhere/do anything in a Dawn of the Dead scenario. In fact, when you boot up the game, the first thing you see is a disclaimer that this game has nothing to do with Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. lol. Too bad the save system sucks.
Oblivion’s a weird one. I hate D&D with a passion and loathed Lord of the Rings and yes, Oblivion is full of that kind of serious fantasy stuff. But for some reason, I was able to ignore the “doth thou slayest warlock of ashtop mountain!” side of the game and just wander round, punching women in the face and conjuring huge flame lord things to kick arse when the village guards came after me. Which probably isn’t doing my argument any favours but I found Oblivion lots of fun.
PDZ is okay online but I only ever used to put time into Infection mode, which was brilliant (except it was the only mode where friendly fire couldn’t be turned off, which was a huge problem when playing as an infected and you were the only guy with a snazzy gun). Never got into it offline but online, it has its merits.
Anyway, Bomberman Act Zero looks shit, I have the preview code sitting here (I work for a UK videogames magazine) and played it once and… yeah. That was it. It looks awful. Which breaks my heart.
There’s nothing I can add to Zereul’s description of Dead Rising, it’s pretty much covered all aspects. Dead Rising is hella fun. Not out in the UK for another month, sadly.
Mycah, you HAVE to try Marble Blast. Even if you only get the demo. By far my favourite XBLA game!
