360 not detecting TE Fightstick

Holy hell I can’t believe we’re all having these same issues.

Both my SE and TE have problems. The TE’s RT will often fail and unplugging/replugging the stick seems to work until the next time the button fails.

The SE on the otherhand constantly disconnects and then reconnects itself periodically.

Arrgh that’s so much money to have spent on faulty sticks. I’m wary about sending either stick in because of the turnaround time (plus my SE is modded with buttons and a jlf).

;__;

the joystick on my 360 TE went completely out but all my buttons are working perfectly. including my guide button. I tried swapping out the breakaway USB cable to a wired 360 controller cable but still no response. Just to reiterate, all the buttons on my stick are working. the joystick however is completely out so obviously there must be a connection problem with my joystick. what should I do?? thanks in advance

I just recently got this RT problem. My RT stopped working as well as my turbo, but as soon as I re-plugged it in I no longer had this issue. I’ve had my stick for a couple of months with no issues until yesterday.

Is this something that will always reoccur or just some kind of fluke?

darn, i thought i was being slick by selling my old TE stick for a nice profit. finally when my new stick came in, it died after maybe 5 hours! WTF! I guess i’ll try to have this repaired by MC, but honestly, I might just return the damn thing.

I can believe the problems happened with the initial supply run, but this next production run should not be having the same problems. Unacceptable.

always.

I called MadCatz about the 3 issues I was having:

a. LT/RT not responding
b. Joystick stuck in one dir even though stick was in neutral
c. Turbo stops working when above occurs

The tech thought it was a PCB issue, but since people have still be experiencing the problem even after repairs were made, I am weary of sending it in, only to have it happen again.

Also they mentioned that they wouldn’t cover shipping to them, but would cover shipping back. Not sure if that was because I’m in Canada (and need to ship it to the USA).

Since I got the stick in the beginning of July, I still have at least 2 months warranty and they said they were pretty lax on the 90day limit. I think I’ll hold out until a more permanent solution is available.

Other than having to ship the product myself, I’d have to say the MadCatz service was alright. I got through easily and explained my problem to the tech. He gave me an order number and I shipped it to them 2-day priority. Overall process took 1.5 weeks (I’m in LA, so it was not bad at all), and I’ve been using the stick frequently since (maybe about a week).

I would say just send your stick back to them unless you can comfortably perform the soldering and repairs yourself.

I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, but there better not be any recurring problems.

Oh, on the note that you are required to ship with the stick, I wrote to them to thoroughly test out the buttons and stick, as I mentioned the problems other people were facing I did not want to deal with in a future occurance (my problem was only the PCB).
