My stick arrived from the repair center finally. Works great.
just had to swap out the switches on mine its cool now. Thinking of doing the spring mod.
I’m having the same problem. It won’t light up, even when connected to my PC. Flashes green once then goes dead.
This is the EXACT same issue i’m having with my 360 TE. When I called MadCatz they thought it was just the breakaway cable. I’ve since tried the rock band guitar breakaway cable and get the same results. Like someone is pulling the usb out and plugging it right back in.
I’m going to call them in the morning, last time I called I asked the rep if I could show up there and have them fix it instead of waiting 4 weeks for something I just bought. He gave me his direct line and said I could hang out in the lobby while he fixed it…I’ll let you guys know if his offer still stands and if so i’ll post his direct line.
How did it go? Where are they located?
My stick randomly stops responding (once or twice every couple of hours). Sometimes the 360 will say please plug the controller back in, sometimes it’ll just be stuck on whatever direction I was holding (usually downback =P). Also, sometimes when this happens, a couple of the red LEDs on the Turbo panel will be lit up.
I ended up taking the drive down to San Diego to MadCatz HQ (Nice showroom!) and Mike Browning the customer Support Supervisor took my stick to the operating room and was back out with it in 45 minutes. He ended up replacing the PCB. Not a single hiccup since! Funny story while I was waiting and chatting it up with the MC employee working the front desk another guy with a TE came in to drop his stick off for an issue with the stick getting stuck in one direction.
Leave it to the only MC parts in the stick to go bad! Oh well, it happens just get it fixed and it’ll be golden.
My RT and LT triggers have randomly stopped working twice… I’ve only had it a few days.
Once i unplug and plug back the USB cable it is fine again.
Anyone else experience this?
I had it for one day. RT stopped working once.
Man, I had my TE stick for about 3 weeks, and I only tested it out once on the PC, since I don’t have a 360. Didn’t have any problems then, but it looks like I need to try it out some more during the warranty period.
Man, so much hype before its release and look at all the crap its getting. How about the opinions from the major players like Markman and other household fighting game names that had the stick to preview for us?
Just here reporting the same problems on a TE I purchased last week. HK button and the RT button both go out sometimes. Unplugging the controller “fixes” it until it randomly does it again. I’ll try using a Microsoft breakway cable and see if that solves the problem. I’ve got another 80 days of warranty support – might as well wait a bit longer to see what’s what.
That didn’t fix it. Mad Catz told me to ship it to them because it sounded like “a PCB issue”.
In the meantime I got an SE and it was broken out of the box with a bad PCB – all four kick buttons only work intermittently, and pressing a punch button will randomly result in a kick. Mad Catz support, “That’s definitely a bad PCB.”
Two sticks, two bad PCB’s, two weeks.
How long is the warranty on TE sticks?
I’ve seen 90 days and 5 years on the MadCatz site… also their link to register for warranty doesn’t work. BadCatz.
90 days afaik.
90 days?
I’m having the roundhouse button issue too. Stick constantly needs to be replugged.
I’m new here. Long time poster on CAG where I read Markmans commentary and ended up buying a TE because I didn’t want to bother modding any stick even a SE.
Anyways just wanted to chime in that my TE is 8 hours old and already one button didn’t respond till I unplugged the controller. I’m praying that other people had this one time issue otherwise I’m gonna have to send in a product that I just recently got ugh. How often should a button go “unresponsive” before it warrants a send out?
hm. i just picked up a te. now i am havin second thoughts… as it is still unopened
I have this problem too!!! Anyone figure it out to see if it is a bad pcb?
It isn’t necessarily a bad PCB but I don’t know of any way to figure that out without sending it in for repair. As I’ve said in several posts/threads, I’ve had the same problem and Madcatz tech support told me to send it in to them for repair. I’m still waiting on the shipping slip for my TE…got the one for my SE last night.
What I’m worried about is the fact that the buttons in question don’t go out every time I use the stick – only maybe once every 2-3 hours. I’m afraid they’ll get it to test, it will work fine, and then they’ll ship it back to me without having done anything to fix it.
I noticed something this morning which might be unrelated but is your cord pulled all the way out of the storage compartment for the cord, or is it twisting in there before coming out. During gameplay my stick was moving and it caushed all kinds of weird problems like all my turbo buttons were light up then I kept going in and out of the pause menu. I pulled the cord out all the way out before close the compartment door and it seems to be working fine now. I’ll let you know if it happens again though. But yeah, like you said it doesn’t happen very often, it’s pretty random so I don’t know how they would troubleshoot that.
