3 Tickets to Eurasia: Strider Team Building Thread

What do you got with Dark Hole? I haven’t really experimented much with it.

I’m still exploring it but off the setup I posted above you can jump m double jump for all types of ambiguous stuff. While they are being hit by dark hole you can summon an orb then cr h into l gram. If u wanna style while dark hole hits back dash a little then do m qcf s tk h Excalibur into tac to dorm

Make a vid!

no recording equipment really. i can try to make a bootleg one with my laptop camera haha. but it will be hella bootleg.

not even youtube worthy…but yeah here it is. ignore some of the random action after the set ups i was mainly trying to the set up not the combo afterwards…you only get 10 seconds after all…yeah i know these arent optimal

This actually helped! Ty. It gave me some more ideas.

Are there any good zero/Vergil/strider players not named marn. I don’t necessarily think he is a bad player he just isn’t very technical and his strider is ass. Building on some of the dorm Ideas I had last week, Vergil works even better. I can squeeze out 500k meter less with the corner and a bird bomb incoming on their wake up. Striders incoming mix ups are just a notch below zero anchor wise zero is just as capable maybe a step below, barely. Anyhow after zero gets the first kill or gets in trouble I’ve been tagging in strider. Nearly everyone plays doom second and strider owns him…I know tagging isn’t optimal but it should be awesome in theory right?

No, because I’m the only one who plays that team. :3. I was directed to this by Twitter I don’t know why but I guess I’d comment. I’m not technical because I don’t play the game. I just play the player. :(. Playing the game based off technicalities is the easiest way to lose. Playing against the player is the easiest way to win. Why do I do buster lightning so much? Because I know everyone doesn’t expect me to do it because they think I know they know I’ll do it so I’ll stop but I’m going to do it anyway. Same with incoming Vergil helmbreaker. I just flowchart my way to victory because everyone thinks that I’m not going to do shit that I’m 100% going to do ^_^. Easy game.

I don’t really say much on the forums, but honestly if you do read too much on the forums, you lose much more than you gain. Yeah, there’s cool set ups, mix ups, and stuff like that and combos that aren’t very reliable but flashy. But in the end, you’re playing to win. I learned this a long time ago and I hope you do the same. Back when I was 14-5, I would watch this GG Bridget player named Yukinose all the time and just copy everything he did, and it got me flashiness, but it never got me the win because I never tried to understand why he was doing what he was doing. Over time, you’ll have to realize you don’t need to watch other players, or copy them, you’ll realize that everyone has their own unique style and when you master your own, you will win.

In conclusion, I don’t know why I decided to type all that. Maybe because it’s late and I have nothing better to do. I hope all of you guys become great players and strive for the best! Good luck!

@marn

You’re the best dude. Hope you’re feeling better.

Thanks for your feedback certainly appreciate it. I definitely flowchart my way to victory using this team most of the time however i think bringing in strider has its benefit.

Ill record some video when i get the chance. The largest benefit to putting zero on anchor is incoming safety. If you screw up with zero you have two characters with very limited options on incoming. I recall a set of you vs fchamp you were in complete control of 4 of the matches only for dark doom to wreck the entire team.

Point strider vergil dhc does around 850 +. Strider is also one of the best stall characters in the game. Control neutral with birds bombs and tigers backed by hadangeki there is enough durability to keep control.

You’re playing a game of chance playing this team. They all have low life. Do you really want to stall? Do you really want to DHC? Why waste 2 meters when you can waste 1 lightning looping people? You gain so much from both assists. Jump around with Zero waiting for Strider assist to hit, convert, kill a character, and hit the most badass mixup in the game. You’re only handicapping yourself.

NO ONE comes in safely in this game. Incoming mixups aren’t character specific. Putting Zero in the back is cool, you have lvl3 xf where you don’t even know where you’re at most of the time, and trust me I’ve played Strider on point with Zero in the back many times at TRB tournaments. It’s more fun because you play with Strider a lot more. But let me give you a run down of the team.

Zero on point:
Example A: Touches character. Kills character. Kills team.
Example B: Dies. XFC2 Vergil comes in, kills at LEAST 2 characters with a Strider hit / mix up / etc. Even without XFC if Zero dies, you should have meter to kill point character, then XFC lvl2 the rest of the team.

Strider on point:
Example A: Touches character, 850, sometimes people die, sometimes people don’t.
Example B: Dies. XFC2 Vergil comes in with a shitty Zero assist. What do? Zero DP assist scales like a bitch. Zero Hadengeki ain’t going to do anything with dudes in the air.
Example C: Dies. Vergil Dies. Zero comes in. Everyone dies if you get the hit and they aren’t running to the skies.
Example D: They are smart, snap in your Zero, and you’re in the same place if you just played the team in order.

You aren’t playing this team to “control” people. You’re playing this team to maul the shit out of them. I respect what you’re trying to do and be different, but in reality, it all becomes a one dimensional game. If you’re trying to control people, I suggest you look towards other teams. Real talk.

I appreciate your opinion, however i probably wont be changing teams as a main at least. Love zero love strider and cant play dante. I have considered moving strider to point zero second xyz assist 3rd. I agree with about 80 % Of what you said there. The default set up of the team maximizes the xfactor potential of the characters. You can still go for bad ass mix ups with zero after the first. Kill in the event that they escape you have the option of getting strider in if you want. But stider at anchor is a fantastic insurance policy.

Your zero on point examples are all true to form.

With strider on point :

Example a-dhc to vergil can do over 950. Another option is snapping dark characters into some pretty disgusting mix ups.

Example b-vergil has x factor 2 by your own statement should kill two characters. Off any hit. True you can’t. Control backwards. Movement or plink strider high time. It does give plain veril rapid. Slash mix ups any hit you can still pop and kill the last two.

Example c- this is the fun part. Zero is already cloned so instant lightning x factor Is an option. Pizza cutter of course, but its better bc if zero trades clone does not. At this point you should have at least. 3 bars. Level 3 xfactor kills most assists and keeps zero safe. Lastly you can catch anyone in the game kill off of one hit or kill with chip/level 3 mix ups.

Lastly all of this assumes zero kills the point. And they blocked your incoming mix up.

Strider zero akuma
Stider zero bolts/unibeam
Strider zero daggers

Are options what do you guys think.

I’m gonna do a similar post to most people:

My best characters are Dorm and Strider. Have been struggling to figure out a team, but I think I finally found one with Strider on point.

Strider/Dorm/Doom.

I use Plasma beam, but my dorm style does kind of like Hidden Missiles. Any thoughts on assist choice?

Try Rocks instead. Strider does well with Rocks and Dorm likes Rocks more than Beam.

Has anyone ever messed around with strider Felicia? That low hitting assist seems like it would be really good for hiryu.

Any specific thoughts on how to use it differently then beam? With Dorm I just cross-up with assist, which is nooby but works aight. What are the distinct advantages rocks has over beam?

Rocks are better for corner extensions, better defensively, and come out really slow which is good because it gives you a chance to mixup your opponent multiple times. Gotta get the overheads down to take full advantage though.

Just curious. What makes strider akuma so good? I’ve heard marvelo and chrisis rave about this pairing.

I’m assuming it’s similar to Wolverine + Akuma, only Strider’s teleports get stronger with Akuma flying around.

Wolverine does massive damage. Off of akuma hits. Ive yet to see strider akuma on any stream or tourney
