2v1: A handicap or a broken matchup?

What? I don’t understand what’s not to understand. Harada explained his reasons for implementing solo characters when he first announced the change, and it almost made too much sense. Namco added a whole new dimension to the game while taking away absolutely nothing. There’s absolutely no reason to be upset over this. It’s like getting angry because your cable provider added a bunch of social networking games to their programming. You’re not going to play them, but it doesn’t mean other people can’t.

The way it looks to me now, solo and team are about equally effective, only that playing solo removes a lot of the decision making. Which makes it a more brainless option. Adding brainless options that are equally effective to the game is a bad thing in my book, and makes it less interesting.

The game would be better without it IMO. I won’t be sobbing if it ends up being banned from tournaments, as it doesn’t really add anything interesting to the game, just takes away from it.

They were smart to add it, just needed to be in its own 1vs 1 section… Almost all my friends comments when sfxtekken came out were they dont like team games and why is there no 1 on 1. it was a smart move, as alot just want to play 1 on 1. the 2 just should not be mixed together or you should have a option to filter singles out if you dont want to play against them at all. ill deal with it , but playing new chars and learning on the fly in matchs against single player lars over and over is ruff .

I understand why there’s a solo mode in this game, but on a competitive level it adds nothing and just makes the game look like Tekken 6.

Solo mode is fine for casual play and as a way to introduce people to the game, but it should be banned once people have had enough time to get accustom to the game. The training wheels have to come off eventually.

As for online, who cares.

“I don’t like it, ergo it should not exist.”

Or you just missed the points they just made.

It all comes down to nixing an option that, as far as I see, is a very minor inconvenience.

2 vs 1 only looks broken when the single players gets rage at the middle and at the end. You can just run, duck and cover until it runs out no?

Aris from avoidingthepuddle.com put up a good tutorial on how to deal with solo opponents.

Horrible analogy. Namco should have implemented 2 separate lobbies, Because under the current system i can just come over to your house and force you to play those SN games. I get that noobs and scrubs need to be coddled but they should be kept separate from the rest of the community until they learn . Allowing solo players to play tag players basically means that you have 2 people playing 2 different games.

 I’ve recently become fond of players who use solo mode because they teach me to not get hit.

Solo is definitely a bit too strong if you ask me. Especially when its characters with long strings. I think Baek Hwo and Steve and law are the worst. More stamina, double rage, faster life regen. Plus most solo players are scrubby button mashers. I beat this solo Bruce that did nothing but CD 3 u/f 3. It took me a round to catch on but just one CH and I’m looking to tag. Meanwhile I need like 3 good tag combos to get the same damage…:confused::confused:

Don’t do tag combos on solo you clowns… Only near the parts where they will get rage anyway. (50% and 5%)

This is common knowledge… I dont do a lot of TA combos anyway. I use tag buffered combos. Insulting people doesn’t help BTW.

Personally I kinda like playing solo online ATM because getting used to blocking and punishing all the shit with one character is more than enough for me. It’s too much information overload when I constantly switch characters and need to handle situations differently.

You need more solo-Combot shit uploaded, btw

Nah I’m all about solo yolo paulo now.

That’s not true unless you play alone. You have to face Solo players and while playing with them, you’re actually consumimg (forced to consume) the feature.

I had no idea the solo player was supposed to be at an advantage…

Everytime I fight solo players I just feel bad for them. I’ve only lost once I think to a solo player so far. But he was just way better than me overall. I can’t see someone around my level beat me in solo,

Anyway, is there any recent tournaments where a solo player did well ? I remember one, but if it was broken or else, we would see this happen more often.

I just think that between 2 beginners, Solo player is at an advantage because less things to worry about (tag system, learning 2 characters…). But otherwise…
