Let’s calm down a bit guys. Damdai did anyway a great work for the arcade gaming community, so first point is to give respect to that. Second thing is, I remember VERY well how 2df went criticized when the client interface changed, and then now, it’s like we talk about a godlike interface.Common, be as aquashark on this point, be constructive not destructive : give ideas, suggest smart features to Damdai, but just don’t blame it like it is the ultimate version of a 5 years old site. Of course, supercade lacks a lot of things ; just be patient and constructive, 'cause even if Damdai is the only creator of it, this is now OUR site, and he always listens to clever suggestions. I’m sure that in six months or so, this site will just kick ass.
Have you opened TCP/UDP port 27886? Before when i played 2df I would have UDP 27886 port open, which allowed me to host. On Supercade though it said it couldn’t so i opened TCP 27886 and it worked. Hope that helps.
I can’t get the games to work. It says that it can’t find the roms and I’m using my normal rom folder (which is in my documents) and the option to change rom directories doesn’t even exist. Supercade is still far from complete and I know that its being worked on but right now it’s really frustrating.
I had this problem initially. What I did was tested out which games it would do that to me on (mines in program files also). So first I loaded 3rd strike and it said I didn’t have the roms. Then I tried Super turbo and the same sort of message came up. Then when i tried Garou MOTW It said i was missing one of the files so it gave me the choice to select my rom folder again. Hope that helps.
All the games I have are working fine, except for Garou… it loads ok, but when the emu screen pops up, everything it shows is a black background, and it keeps there… so the game loads but i can’t actually play it.
Am I the only one with this issue? looks really weird, because all my other neo-geo roms are working without problems. Thanks guys.
I opened port 27886 on both TCP and UDP and I’m still getting the same error on Supercade when attempting to host. It says unable to accept incoming connections on port 27886.
I’m stumped.
alright, so far, so good, imma try and play later, but it has read my roms and seems stable.
for ppl having problems with the ping issues
Damdai put it in the setting tab that you can change the ping restriction, and as for the same person challenging over and over…you can just keep kicking that person from your game or make a private session
i believe in the online username thread for ggpo/2df etc…players should list a password for their private session for those who are looking to join them, it might help ease that problem possibly but thats just my thought
so how does this run 3s in comparison to ggpo and the late great king 2df
I was able to get in a few games earlier today, and they were still just as laggy as before this new facelift. Then again, it was in primetime here in Los Angeles and Im cable internet.
Also, yes it’s cool Damdai has now allowed the user to set whatever ping limit they want, but what’s happening now is players are still restricting their limit to 150 or so. So it’s still difficult to get into a game because they have their limit so low. Maybe they’re unaware you can change it now?

so you complain about lag first then about people using the 150 ping restriction?
Can hosts see who they are playing?
Try this to check if your Ports are really opened

Were all the 2DF accounts wiped or something? I can’t log in, and password recovery tells me, “no account is associated with this address.”
Hm I cant get this thing to recognize any of my roms. Tried Samsho 5 special, Garou, Alpha 2 and 3S so far. There is no option to change the rom directory yet right? Im sure I picked the right one though.
You only need to select the rom folder when it cant find the roms. If it is not asking you to select the rom folder, it means it can find the roms. If the emulator is launching and saying the roms cant be found, it is because of a permissions problem reading that folder. Try moving your roms folder into My Documents or something not under Program Files. This is all explained on the Help page.
Viache, only active accounts from the last 3 months were transferred.
For me emulator couldnt find the rom folder by normal means, so I solved it by adding rompath directly into supercade.ini
I had the exact same problem yesterday but now it works. Try restarting your computer.
Out of curiousity, what constitutes an “active” account? I was playing KOF 2002 just prior to the switch to supercade.net.
I’ve recreated my account now. Password change functionality appears broken at the moment. :\
