Nice to see that many new games !
Do those such as Battle Garegga or Biomechanical Toy- ie not CPS1 nor CPS2 nor Neo/MVS - have lag compensation (I somehow doubt it, as it seems nFBA didn’t have any update unfortunately) ?
Also, I’m sorry if this has been suggested before, but being able to open several sessions could be handy. Without this, it may become like old Kaillera interface were it was a waste of time to open a session for a unpopular game. It would take like 20 minutes for someone to join. It couldn’t be as bad for supercade, hopefully, because Kaillera had a lot of servers, which scattered players a lot. Anyway, 2DF was pretty handy on that matter, because you could stay in an unpopular game room (even several of them) AND, if this room is too empty, challenge people in other rooms meanwhile.

ps2 : I know this is a tiny meaninglessl detail, but I just noticed the “page size” setting is reset each time you click on a game.
damdai, I have a question about the customisable ping threshold. I lowered my threshold significantly, yet some sessions still get very laggy even though I’m pretty sure there’s no network congestion from my end. Then I remembered how in 2DF, the ping display for each player did not always work, and sometimes just displayed a “?” instead. Has that situation carried on over to Supercade? And if so, would those players slip through my ping net?
I’m also still seeing no replay save window, I haven’t modded any colour palettes or anything. Ah well, I don’t really care about replays too much.
All players can be pinged now. Ping is only checked upon connection though. Just because it is within your ping limit when you connect doesnt mean it cant get worse afterwords.
Not sure why you are never getting option to save replay. I have never NOT gotten the option. Not sure what the difference could be.
I don’t know why, but my ping to a lot of players outside the country is on average around 275-290ms. I realize they’re out of the country and I’m in the US, but dang, I’m on a fairly good cable connection(13mb down/800kbps up) so surely I should be getting a lower ping than THAT? The few games I did manage to get in yesterday turned out to be lag fests
bandwidth doesn’t affect ping… your ping is bad because your ISP has terrible routing (the signal takes a lot of detours before reaching its destination, instead of reaching out in a more direct path)
before anyone asks: to start a multisession you have to add to favorites all the games you want to play, then when creating a session select My Favorites from the list
Same here. I am no longer getting the replay pop up menu. It was there the first couple games but now nothing. Funny thing is, I can actually hear the “pop” sound as if it does pop up, but nothing visually. Running win XP 32bit and an ATI 4870. Using the latest version of firefox.
Damdai, why not simply make a setting that we can go to, that allows us to have Supercade either save replays to our HDD automatically, or not all? I’m sure this would alleviate the whole pop-up window problem.
@damdai: it seems that u dont see my reply but anyway… super sidekicks has problems… after 2mins game, u cant move anymore… it stucks there… dunno if the emu or sth else
Supercade crashed on me a lot. I play a couple of games, then it freezes, and done. 2DF did not do this. I assume it has something to do with the new software I had to download for Supercade, or something else…
Great update. Also liking some of the other minor tweaks, like the system tray feature of playing my favourite games in single player while waiting for somebody to join my session.
I really like the new functions but there is still one thing that is incredibly annoying and that is that you can’t choose your rom folder whenever you want to. I was creating a multigame session and because metal slug 2 was missing in my rom folder the choose your rom folder window popped up. I just closed the window and now it is apparently set to the wrong folder and I can’t set it back again. I’ve tried selecting new favourites and creating more sessions but it won’t let me change my rom folder. So annoying
Edit: The problem isn’t that my folder is wrong. When I choose a game that I don’t have I get the option to change folders and when I choose a game I have it tries to load but says that the files are missing. I have been able to play on supercade before
