$21,000 MK9 Tourney - Las Vegas, NV - May 14th-15th - 10K first place

hope it’s a success smells like failure

Did you join 2 months ago with the intention of just being a fucking hater and a troll? Control your hatred son?

180 people for one tournament only smells like failure? Way to support.

Spectators can watch for free.

I heard that there will be side tournaments throughout the day where you can use whatever controller you like. May I ask what system you’ll be using for the tournament so I know what controller to bring?

amaca: Everything is 360, side tournaments you can use whatever you want $40 winner take all $5 entry. I think rules would be if you win a tourney you can’t enter the very next one but you can enter the one immediately following that.

:frowning: schools’ not out!!!

Good luck to everyone there, I wish I could be there, instead I’m at school right now listening to some washed-up hack lecture about some bullshit I’ll never use in the real world  Stay in school kids.

cant wait to watch

Good to know spectators can watch for free. I’ll probably be stopping by on Sunday to watch the finals.

Btw, does anyone know what time the event starts on both days?

stream?

stream is live right now

Results

So who came out on top of their pools for this one? How many is it down to? Who’s left? Missed the last leg of the stream today :(

From IPW:

Who the hell did JOP lose to?

is the stream choppy for everyone? or is it just me?

Who won?

JWong got 1st, Floe got 2nd, L.I. Joe got 3rd.

Same old…

Yeah of course fucking JWong, (did anyone have a doubt?) and good job LI Joe taking back old school:tup:

There was some really high level play that was cool to watch. Plus it was nice seeing the pay go to 8th place and man, there was some decent cash handed out. The stick breaking in the winner finals was pretty freaking funny and the stream went nuts about it not being the best advertisment for pdp but the players handled it cool.

Props to Ski for cornering the NRS guys about the crappy netcode and actually getting a developer to talk about it. Also for commentating all weekend on a fighter he is new to, that couldn’t have been real easy.

Did anyone get a final count on entrants.? I asked on the stream and got a range of numbers from 2 to 3000.

There were 179 players that paid and entered and 149 showed up.

The block button got stuck when Justin was up 2-0 and about to win, that was it…basically the cherry switch inside just got stuck. Typical of arcade stuff, I’m sure everyone has seen that before. After 3 days of rigorous play on the sticks from different people, it’s not a surprise that would happen, but luckily it had nothing to do with any outcome of any match.

We broke ties of 7th place and 8th place with rock paper scissors, and 5th and 6th place with 1 match use whatever you want controller specification (no monetary changes for 5th and 6th) and some moron decided to write in sharpee that Perfect Legend basically got to do what he wanted on this marker board we had which was unerasale.

Real classy whoever did that and good job not realizing that was an exhibition match with both players eliminated already and no change in prize on 5th and 6th. Thanks for defacing property.

Tournament was nice, players were great at the event, a lot of people overreacting and not knowing what the heck is going on because they are watching on the stream. All in all people had a great time but players apparently don’t understand arcade architecture very well after tons of use…shit like this was commonplace in arcade tournaments all the time back in the day and with ONE block thing at the end of a match Justin was about to win in Winner’s Finals being an issue I found it hilarious people were jumping on the stick thing again, LOL…we used to hope for days where only one thing broke in arcade tournaments only, and this was a nice few days =)

They don’t go to tournaments so they will never understand Jason.

GS Justin, Floe and Joe.
