The difference between a good strider and a bad one is ridiculous. If I still have XF left and my strider touches the ground you better pray you got some yolo ass randomness to snipe me with since your whole team is likely forfeit. Even outside of Xfactor he can comeback reliably against two characters if the second is within one combo killing range. Vergils like the one character that just fucks him. He has so many shenanigans in XFactor no one uses. Hell S.H—formation b is like a plus 10 true blockstring that catches jumps if you go low. but people would much rather pop those orbs and waste their factor
I need to make a vid of Strider tricks when I get back home. Hell a full tech vid of Viper/Dante/Strider tbh. People need to stop sleeping on that shit. You need to play it near perfect with viper but if you do its absurd.
That new Dante bnb variation is the JAGO technology. He had been keepin it a secret for a long time and it was spilled before he got to put it in a video to explain how to do it and abuse it and why you should be using it. I think he gave up on doing it since he meant to do it as a last gift to the community after he retired.
This game is about maximizing the bullshit your team is capable of so you get the first hit before your opponent, because that first hit usually leads to the death of a character.
Damage now is almost irrelevant because of how easy it is to kill your opponent, off of basically anything.
Again Magneto and Dante put out about the same damage and yet Mags damage is never seen as bad.
As long as you put out 750k damage before dhc you are doing quite alright.
Well, I mean j.H openers are not THAT uncommon. Wesker, dante, nova, iron man even. a lot of mixups involve a j.H somewhere in there, and Dante it kinda is a main way in.
The arguing/discussion between the various playstyles and thoughts of spider-man players was one of the few intelligent things to come out of this thread.
Wesker/Weasel Shot/Asian High-Five, Nova/Hiding Missiles/Spardan Corridor, Mighty Dude/Tall Hats/Hiding Missiles. Which team is most likely to be playable at a tournament level?
this is something ive been wondering myself being a spidey player. i was recently told by a mags/drones players that i needed to be more offensive and not give him so much space to call drones so much, as atm i spend a lot of time in the air and then whizzing down with webzip and going from there. but then trying to rush down doesnt work so well either since its difficult to open people up with him and there is nothing to fear from his ground throw either. i dunno, i seem to do better with him when i focus on being as annoying as possible playing him.
People complaining about Dante’s damage is so retarded, the nigga builds 2 to 3 bars in a combo and can do 600~620k before hyper with one assist, and the fact that at least half of the characters provide a good combo extension for Dante it means that you should not have trouble finding one.
I get what you’re saying about stacking assist characters, but you’re going to the extreme here. Neither Dante or Strider are half as hamstrung as Commando or Cyke were. These two are probably still somewhere in the top 10 as active characters. And Strider is the #2 derp anchor out there.
I always think of Viper/Dante/Strider and Zero/Dante/Strider as control teams. Jam Session is what you use up close against people trying to move forward on you to put them back to full screen. Vajra is what you use against a few match-ups that are trying to control you back (Zero, Morrigan, Magneto when he’s full screen, Wesker if he’s super jump gunning, etc)
If it’s done well, it should be a 50/50 where neither player knows which way to block. A coin flip is a coin flip - even Sun Tzu would get hit half the time.
I don’t think it’s even his best incoming mix-up though because it puts you right inside of them. If they do block and X-Factor, you’re probably screwed.
This guy gets it. Viper/Dante/Strider isn’t about going ham. Its pure control, which leads to hamness when in close. Just calling jam session when you get thme close to the corner is incredibly scary for the opponent since if they flinch thats 180k damage from seismos right there. And god forbid they call an assist lol
trying to open someone up when they call drones is a horrible horrible idea without an assist to knock them out. Personally, against mag/drones I do everything possible to knock out Drones with MODOK while staying away from Mags. He has better buttons then you and if he ever manages to catch you blocking, you’re gonna start eating tri-jump mix-ups unless you get a lucky spider sting (which is some made yomi shit to pull off). Better to be patient and not eat a mix-up/Shockwave to the face.
