Where are you going with this? Viper is bad without neutral assists. Strider was bad in marvel 2 without specific assists. What is your point exactly? For the record, morrigan has to be one of the most self-sufficient characters in this game because she has so much mobility, and she can convert from practically anywhere, and she can protect her approach similar to magneto.

Spiralā€™s keepaway went from perfect lockdown to guess right and get in due to the guard cancel tech. You pushblock to end your blockstun at a time earlier than Spiral wanted, turning perfect lockdown into guesses. It was still hard to fight but as characters like Sentinel and mags and storm developed the risk/reward was put in their favor.
Blackheart is a similar story. The glitches discovered favored rushdown and didnā€™t improve his keepaway. Also Cable

and strider without doom in MvC2 was heresy. Heck, even without Doom sheā€™s a great character with some of the best tools in the game.

Strider was bad in Marvel 2 even with good assists for the record. Clockwork was by a country mile the best strider player and still was not at the top due to team limitations.

mag vergil doom order allows u to play some different matchups and gives magneto some TODs with swords

Mags gets an easy untechable throw setup, same for Dooooooooooooooooooom, and they both get stylish combos from it. I think Vergil is best on point for this team, as he is ass against incoming mixups, but he can body poorly timed incoming mixups with maximum vergil.

Rapid Slash is not that bad of an assist as people think. I think it is pretty good in my opinion. Good enough to justify playing him on 2nd/3rd position at least.

Rapid Slash can used as a GTFO assist that pushes the person full screen. It can be used as a lock down assist in the corner. It really good for incoming mixes up. It comes out fast and can beat the start up of a lot of assist which can lead to happy birthdays. It does a soft knockdown making it easy to confirm off of and great for combo extensions.

The biggest plus however is that it comes with the character named Vergil.
