You ran a train through everyone at a major? Seriously?
(Not that I don’t think you’re not good, you’re a lot better than me.)

Take some of the likely suspects top tier teams against DOK and tell me what you think.
Start with trenchcoats, various DMC setups and Doomy/Ammy Shells. You can start with
Magneto/Doom. Feel free to discuss it here. This is good fodder as to why people may want
to reconsider MODOK for top tier.

I do think there is a distinct disparity however in general casual play and tournament play. Primarily in terms of movement. If you suck at movement DOK will fucking murder you. If I find a player whose got their movement though air plinking, yipes style wave dashing, solid air throw game. DOK gets ripped.

I never said major, I said events in a more general sense. For me, that’s locals and casuals, so it doesn’t mean much. I wish I had more chances to face people offline, but that’s not likely going to happen

I’ll look into it! It’ll probably be awhile (due to work, etc, and remaking the Dok tutorial and going over individual matchups), but I’ll test them out on some optimal Dok teams in the lab and see what I can find beyond the individual matchups. I’ll keep it in the Dok forums. Though I’ll say for Doom/Ammy, that’s a prime example where jamming bomb into snapback is a pretty good idea. It’s usually not a bad idea on the various DMC teams too. I do have a matchup video on Vergil out on my youtube too (though I could’ve said a bit more).

All I know is that I respect longer casual sets the most, especially since I play on 360 pad.

But, most frank teams don’t build way too much meter for the point character. It also optimizes lockdown Vergil, whilst making Frank as good as Thor. And Hiding Missiles are good at hide and go seek.

Magneto. Mobility is everything when it comes to point characters, and he has it. He also is the king of spain. And he has funny looking kicks.

Given that you’ve taken out half the factors of what makes a good point character and only left us with mobility, Marvel-poking, and neutral game, I’d say that Viper and Magneto take the cake for best point character, with Dante as a close third.

With that criteria Strider is in A tier. I think of strider as a better Wolverine/FrankCart combination in one character. He needs to weave his way in. But then he has teleports as a bonus.

But then his hp and damage in reality make the difference.

i disagree that dante is 3rd for best point character. whoever you choose to have on the opening gambit can change the pace of a match massively, and dantes normals are far too slow to even consider using them, plus all of his throws are complete ass, so theres no benefit to even landing a throw at the start of the round either.

So everybody knows Wolverine can beat Morrigan, Magneto, Dormammu, Zero, Vergil, Nova, Viper, Dante, etc but he is barely mid-mid high tier…

I still don’t think wolverine cleanly beats magneto like everyone says. You just have to really pick your places carefully and have a great grasp of magneto’s mobility. Air plink dashing goes a long way because it reduces your chances of getting divekicked vs zig zag dashes.

missiles for the vertical control. but really I would go for dante over missiles

So thanks to Xero, Spider-man now has a untechable UWT set up with ironman. On incoming you do a meaty angled proton cannon and then when they are falling you can Dhc into UWT and catch them. So far only hard drive can escape. What this means is that Spiderman can touch you->Tac infinite with Tony and kill off the next two characters with the uwt set up into another tac infinite. What makes this ridiculous is that IIRC, Spidey has that untechable TAC with dash cancels(correct me if I’m wrong). thoughts on tier placement now with this New tech?
