You all are going overboard. Equal to zero? Need I remind you that zero can kill you with a mixup anywhere on the screen.

switch frank and phoenix on the front page tier list ^^

Yeah I kinda left because the moderators were huge douchebags.

That and if Zero hits you…he has a chance to seal the entire game.

Either way, Frank isn’t inferior to Akuma in as much as people used to view him much early on in UMVC3.

Same. One of them was bitching because he didn’t think someone’s submitted Poliwrath set was up to par and going on and on about how he was the best Poliwrath main so he would know. I’m like, well if that’s the fucking case why the hell don’t you do the set yourself instead of making someone else do your work? And thus I got warned twice, to which by the end of it he STILL submitted a set. Fucking asshats.

I would rather have at least 10 other characters than frank lvl 4. you guys are under the illusion he is so amazing because when he comes in the table is already perfectly set for him. Its like Vergil land with 3 bars. Of course hes going to be a god because at that point you have a huge problem since you character is most likely maimed and his is loaded.

Yeah he’s the most accessible win more to me. Which is good…but not great. Especially in this game I’m not a big fan of anything where I have to do good with my first character in order to do good with my second. Put in some more work and do better with Morri Doom etc.

Do any teams exist that can get any special mileage out of the OTG from the Shopping Cart THC?

I’ve long been of the opinion that the reason to put Frank on your team must first and foremost be Shopping Cart assist. If there is a team that could really benefit from the shopping cart THC it could increase Frank’s value a bit. On point, Frank is a fairweather teammate. When things are going well he levels up and wrecks shit. When things are going poorly he doesn’t get to level up and he’s just ok.

Why is noone discussing Firebrand’s godlike buttons? I feel like they could draw a sword over his current boxes, and only then would people realize he’s amazing

Mainly because it always seems like for every one person who says they are gdlk…another person always says they’re stubby and subpar. Its like Firebrand players don’t know if their character has good normals or not.

You know, I wanted to give you a chance. I really did. But now, ignore.

Firebrand’s has some good air to air’s in the game.

J.M is clownshoes.

Also Firebrand took derp lessons from Frank Best because FB’s slide is just as good.

Firebrand’s buttons are all godlike except cr.M I don’t really care if anyone agrees, as their claims matter more than facts. Firebrand is gonna kidnap this whole game once real Firebrands start popping up to graaaaaaaaa

This is the team I keep telling myself I should be playing. Sucks that I have so much fun playing the team in my sig cause its ass. Also I ruined Doom for myself when I started playing Magneto. I didn’t understand beforehand when people would say how sluggish Doom was when I was a diehard Doom main until I dropped him for Magneto. Now, ugh.

But yeah Mag/Doom/Dante is godlike. You got Doom’s best assist IMO in there with jam session so you’re not free when Magneto’s out. I just wish I could bring myself to drop the robot and the raccoon :frowning:

level 4 frank IS amazing. worst comes to worst, you still get the shopping cart assist.

After going to MVC2 training mode out of boredom… one thing I am glad they didn’t keep from the old game is characters turning around in the air upon crossup. That is a testament to how godly peoples blocks were back then.

my tiers are based on the likelihood of reaching tournament success with that character.

I’m going to start off by saying I’m really not a good player. But I have read all these SRK arguments, Twitters, Facebook pages, stream chats, read Bradygames cover to cover more than once, and watched at least 20 worldwide tournaments live. If you feel like there is something I don’t understand by my list then please tell me, I promise I’ll consider your opinion in editing a revision.

That said… this is a team based game, no? So my tiers are based on the likelihood of reaching tournament success with that character. ALL characters are capable of this, but being lower on the tier list simply means you will have less freedom with the rest of your team by including that character. In other words, the lowest tier characters are only viable with basically perfect optimization; Shuma, Iron Fist, H-Ko get a pass here because of great assists even though they are too weird on point to reach consistency.

The only reason these numbers do not reflect tournament statistics exactly, in my opinion, is because specific characters require unorthodox and/or difficult execution techniques. Viper, X-23, M.O.D.O.K., Spider-Man, both DLC chars, looking at you guys.

As for the top 5, let’s just say the meta game for the past 6 months basically revolves around how to use them, and how to counter them. Need I say how valuable they are? Even Doom who is (slightly) weak on point simply has the best assists in the game, all three of them (yes, even rocks, and definitely not just because CJ Showstopper) are fantastic. You just don’t realize how amazing rocks are because vertically/lockdown you’ll choose missiles instead, and horizontally you’ll choose beam instead. And I don’t even think he’s bad on point, he just doesn’t blow people up as easily as Vergil - but he still has great zoning and easily confirms of all types of throws and knockdowns. Akuma is also an extremely underrated point character who can consistently do ~1mil damage at a loss of half a meter, and make Lvl 3 XF comebacks simply (and definitely not just because Knives or Justin).

One last thing, I know a patch isn’t confirmed or really even possible, I’m about 50/50 here. But all you need to do is nerf a few assists, tweak some normal priority and hitboxes, nerf a few point characters, and improve mobility of all the slows/heavies, and the tier list would change.

my tiers are based on the likelihood of reaching tournament success with that character.

Because right now everyone, myself included, seems to be basing their tier lists over how easily you get blown up by top tier. This is why you can’t (pragmatically) discuss issues such as Nemesis’s sick reset game, beyond theorizing and Unkn0wn replays. That’s because he has a flaw (his height) which allows top tier (and most tridashers I guess) to blow him up for free. Too many chars like this are still not played at top level regularly enough to judge them, so everything other than S-A on my list (and in my opinion everyone else’s) should be taken with a grain of salt, because if the top 5 were nerfed then it would be an extremely different game.

my tiers are based on the likelihood of reaching tournament success with that character.

The part where your tier list is based off of how much tournament success you can have with that character? bold it and put it at the top. 99% of us are not going to read those paragraphs so make sure the part for us with short attention spans is there.

ok I fixed it
