its so demotivating, If they are afraid of more casual players hating on fighting vs. Grapplers, just nerf their random tools like moving pokes, and jumpins. And buff their skillfullway of playing. and maybe nerf spd dmg, while getting that knockdown etc.
Man, it’s 2013. This shit came out almost 5 years ago. Anybody still playing likely isn’t a casual scrub. People just bitch about Gief for no reason. My friend plays Akuma and will get 1 sweep and vortex me to hell, but he still cries when I SPD a cr.MK. We’ve seen that characters like Gen and Makoto can be dominant as fuck if you put in the work, but nobody’s crying to nerf them. Just Zangief, because getting grabbed “on the other side of the screen” for being predictable and pressing buttons like a fucknut takes no skill and is just mashing.
If people hate the command grab so much, why have Capcom consistently made his other options worse? It’s perplexing to say the least.
I wouldn’t underestimate the number of “scrubs” as well. I’ve played about 4 matches this whole year but I still have an interest.
I’ve mentioned it before capcom doesn’t know WTH to do with Gief they nerfed him first to make him more of a “grappler” then they take away too.s to help with that into a more footsie oriented character despite having weaker pokes than other characters.
I really do wish they would fix his headbutt since it tends to whiff on air to air opponents I don’t know if others have bad that problem.
Played a few matches mast night and I was thinking to myself, “wow almost all of these jab spd’s are gonna whiff now in Ultra.” It was pretty discouraging to think about.
So are they going to fix RBG finally or is that just left in there as punishment for picking Zangief?
If they were serious about Zangief they would get rid of rbg completely. I bet they just completely leave it as is.
If we cant combo into ex gh that’ll be devastating to me. That’s one of the reasons I picked gief in the first place. When I saw vangief whiff punishing into ex glove it was amazing to me and I’ve been playing him ever since… It’ll suck

normal SBK is just a silly move is like saying RBG is the best move gief has, the ex version doesnt move forward so i cant use it against focus that much. U1 is an ok ultra against focus but you need charge and a retard holding a focus long enough to get kicked in the face. About ex hzu idk that move wont be that useful agaisnt focus imo, at first ppl wont be able to use silly focus bait against hzu but that´s it.
as a chun player focus give us a lot of problems, maybe gief´s focus is ass, but that´s him.
Doesn’t EX legs break armor as well? wAnd hazanshu breaking armor will give her more robust setups on wakeup. People have to respect that move a lot more. You just said focus gives you problems; the range on hzu with that new property should change that. And EX SBK is the important armor breaker; i dunno why you’d use regular SBK either.
Ex legs can be used against focus, but its not that practical: st.mp xx ex legs and dash into ex legs, but you know is easier said than done.
ex hzu will improve chun´s already strong anti-fb game imo, but it wont be any focus killer like adon moves and such.
About Ex sbk i strongly advice to save this move and to use it as a GTFO move, it will beat point blank focus yes, but against ppl that is constantly focus baiting pokes about sweep range Ex sbk doesnt work at all and neither ex hzu on USF4 because is too slow (26f start up IIRC) decent players just need a backdash from the focus stance to whiff punish hzu hard as this move is really awful on whiff. Dash into ex legs may be the only tool and like i said its not that great as dash into throw does the trick too.
Well as expected jab spd range is getting nerfed lol. Good job to all the scrubs that bitched about Gief grabbing from full screen, you all got your wish.

Yeah same here. I’m expecting Gief to be alot better in Ultra when he gets a knockdown.
Maybe he’ll have a cl. strong/cl. forward ex gh vortex which is gonna take some serious awareness of hit confirming and remembering character specific close medium attack combos. As for jab spd if it’s nerfed too much then there are going to be a lot of special attacks that Zangief won’t be able to punish anymore on block.
Its gonna be intresting to see if middle-greenhand will have the same mixup game as current EX-Hand. BEcause if we cannot light to medium hand and get mixups, it wont matter that we can EX-GH through fireballs for the knockdown.
