2012, Year of the Oil

Hakan’s lk. Oil Dive can catch E.Honda’s lk. Sumo Slam at the top of the arch if done correctly.

makes it easier to do this ^^

not to spam but also Hakan’s oiled H. and EX oil dive can now punish E.Honda’s Sumo Headbutt after block. Also I could be wrong but seems that his oiled focus attack got increased sliding range.

Not to worry about ‘spam’, this may aswell be the thread to post 2012 stuff in on the fly as we find it out.

Alot of the LK oil dive setups I used in AE are still working in 2012, with dummy set to crouch and block. Even also tried doing it where i recorded the dummy just holding down/downback. I find it hard to beleive seeing as the light oildive is completely tweaked, but i mean shit, the results are right here infront of my eyes.

For everything else, ive just moved up a button strength as has been suggested previously and its definately still working 99% on dummies set to crouch.

damn good read sir very insightful now that 2012 is out I am gonna put fourth more effort to figuring out more stuff with Hakan.

please when you get a chance record your findings and post them on youtube I really want to see how this is done.

Im afraid I have no method to capture footage =[ Othwerwise id be in there

capture footage = Digital Photo with Videomode gworks well on LCDsg

beside that im now at work will test things at home and post there… for my attitude–> its no german thing its more a “me =ass thing” but wellyou can give me that i know a damn lot and be proud of it and i know its throwable the word bible may a bit overdooing it but im a theorie monster… well not anymore needto test again everything now…

will work on figuring it out then :stuck_out_tongue:

#1 C.hp (double hit) is perfectly safe on hit contrary to reported nerf.
#2 You can easily j.hk, 360 into tiny walk and uncrouchable lk dive on reaction to a standing opponent against bigger characters. Throw invincible and on reaction? Yes, please. Maybe against smaller opponents to a degree, but I haven’t checked yet.
#3 All characters are now vulnerable to uncrouchable dives
#4 All characters now vulnerable to air-reset uncrouchables
#5 All characters now vulnerable to f.lp air-reset uncrouchables
#6 Preliminary test suggests dive also grabs jumps and crouches equally well, instead of opponents being able to jump out of uncrouchable dives

(Of course, lk dive being way too fast to avoid on reaction makes all these uncrouchables that much tougher).

HUGELY buffed. I didn’t expect THAT much!! Maybe Capcom screwed up on Hakan’s balancing to a degree, judging by how big these buffs are. Crazy. I feel like it’s probably overdone, personally. That is a LOT of help for us.

They made a real useful move out of 360K not just in gimmicks and setups. IMO, what he should have had the whole time. One thing though, I thought the nerf was c.HP was becoming less safe on block?

it was mentioned that DDT got a diffrent jumparc anything true or does it look like bevore?
Besides how save is it on a miss (jumpover) punishble or as save as a blanka roll?

is aLP chain much harder to punish on block? is the 4f blockstun true?

In the corner it is still going to be very punishable, still lots of recovery, mid screen, your opponent will have to be pretty aware to maybe dash up and sweep as a punish? It travels pretty far. I haven’t done any real testing of it yet, I need to go to work now, but I will later.

Hey Mordie

is #3 true? with no exception…Did you test blanka?
What do you mean by #4?..does it mean j.LP and do a lk dive works with all characters?
Regarding #2, do you need to do late hk in order to get it uncrouchable? How about mk dive instead of tiny walk.

how good are his Air-2 Air Moves while jumping streight they where improved quite a lot

Stuff:

You can tick an uncrouchable LK oil dive after a landed s.lp/s.lk, on either hit or block, if they’re standing. Also, any attempt by them to jump and backdash (?) will be caught as well.

After a c.lk, an LK oil dive will catch people jumping or backdashing to avoid an SPD.

You can do an uncrouchable LK oil dive after a j.mk, with a very large window to do so. Countering buttons is incredibly easy, as well.

Post slide knockdown, backdash > forward dash is a sort-of 50/50 between a s.lp and LK DDT. If they mash buttons to avoid the DDT, they are forced to block or counterhit, and if they just crouch they get DDT’d. Jump’s will be stopped by meaty s.lp and the DDT. Backdash will escape, but can easily be countered once you recognize it.

and yeah

guys im new to the forums but been playing with hakan a bit and i found out 2 things.

  • when oiled next to opponent cr.MK > HP Slide (no followup) goes through opponent - tested on zangief, ryu, sakura. works un-oiled too but must be crouching…?(not sure)

also does anyone know if LP Super is uncrouchable or not? ( i thought i got it to work but at the time i wasnt sure if dummy was set to crouch…)

Hakan won’t jump over opponents will oil dives unless he is in normal grabbing range. So roughly anything more than 0.95 range means you are’t gonna fly.

Wait, ignore what I’ve said above. It does go further than normal grabbing range, but not too much. Ex dive goes over at a further distance. Different button has different flying range it seems.

these changes are music to my ears …
im so happy … cant wait to try it at home …
looks like my pre 2012 hakan switch is gonna pay off
