Lol awesome. Must be loads of little things like that, tons of stuff to discover. LK Dive so broken now, ha.
Shit, I’ll need to test later if you can punish Bisons psychocrusher as he goes past you, there’s a good chance, would be a great punish. Was too slow in AE.
Hakan is a reset monster now, resetting into EX Dive is ridiculous and not only does monstrous damage but most of the time takes the opponent to the corner and gives you a MK Oil or another mixup afterwards. Dayum.
been catching people with LK dive quite alot just … throwing it out there … just to test it out … its fricken awesome … whiffed shoryu ? NO SON !! YOU GET DIVED ! lol (ofcourse i could do more damage with say f.MP into HP slide and press but still … its fun lol )
one thing i need to try out more is if i can punish seths air dive kick … he does it from really high up and seems like theres enough time to react … dunno …
also … anti air super is the most beautiful thing ever … no1 ever sees it coming …
hey did anyone notice a change to j.MP ? seems that follow up slide no longer connects from a certain height … or am i wrong ? it happened to me a few times … i thought it was weird … (might have been a delayed input so dont take my word for it just yet)
also … did anyone consider looking into the potential of the neutral jump normals buffs ? i forgot what they are … but … has anyone noticed a difference ?
Yeah neutral jump LP is a LOT better, stays out there a whole lot longer. Jump LK tho? That shit is godlike haha, not much will beat this move now.
Haven’t really messed with neutral jump MP.
Has anyone else been having input errors doing oil motion? I don’t know why but there’s more than one occasion where instead of LK Oil I’m getting F.lk? Really annoying and I don’t know if it’s a problem on my part or what. Happens with MK And HK too.
So you should be able to now OS Super off of Jump HK on every character, I just tested on roses backdash and it works like a charm. On some charactes it won’t be so great, like Bison for instance, because it will only work on his backdash and teleport. If he teleports then you have to hold it. If bison has no meter, and you have Super, you should always go for this. Just be careful because I’m not exactly sure if you can hold the super for a second if you see the teleport.
Edit: Sweet so even if you let go of the kick button when you hit the super, during the flash you still have time to react to what’s happening and hold it if you need to. Awesomeeeee.
Heh, so you can do meaty Hakan spear and counterhit Hakan Spear into uncrouchable LK Dive on a standing opponent. Crazy damage. Shame it doesn’t work on regular hit, would be godlike.
Yang torou zang (I think… can’t remember if this is true, 90% sure)
…
I know someone posted about Balrog’s dash punch, but haven’t notice the other mentioned… so you can start the loop like this also.
This is great, this force the opponent into doing something else after you block their moves… backdash, a move or mash normals… So you can land slides!
IMO OD’s currently are the best moves Hakan has… what a change!
Is it me or does Hakan’s st.hp have a little more range? I normally whiff it out to gauge oil grab range, and i seem to be hitting out of lp grab range moreso than I remember.
LK super goes over the shorties which it originally could in AE, however with average characters, the super will fall in front of that. So if you guys wanna try uncrouchable setups with lk super, if you guys flop (which is extremely hard to do it seems), we get a free escape over the shorties.
Wow Super is a lot better at punishing backjumpers now as well as neutral jumpers and forward jumpers! Also I found some okay uses for sliding CC in terms of ambiguous crossups but they all come from oil dives, you can do it so that you beat button presses, but obviously still lose to mashed SRK.
Yeah it’s Oil Dive, Dash x 2 > CC. EX Dive gives a longer knockdown so it’s a little better.
I think it’s always been like that: at some heights it just won’t work. I’m pretty sure you can always do j.MP > (oiled) f.HK though, at any height.
Yeah, I seem to remember them saying that they messed with some of Hakan’s input shortcuts because it was too easy to get the wrong moves. Now you just have to do Oil-up more precisely, but you shouldn’t get random DDTs anymore while doing jump back oil. I’ve definitely noticed this change too.
Inputs are different. Not only with oiling up, but I have more trouble pulling off my weird, delayed oil dives and delayed rockets.
Also, notice that the two nerfs have to do with moves that enable you to tech throws/slip under opponent n.jump for U1 from behind? C.hp+mp+lp is virtually useless now, because it recovers too slowly and oily f.hk no longer techs throws. Hmmm… I knew those were important to Hakan’s game, and I was just starting to utlize them more. I also really miss the large input window, so you could easily crouch for a long time after pressing 360 and still get a special out afterward. Maybe I’ll go back to original SSFIV on occasion… except no one plays that, sadly. I would have liked to have solved the mystery of why Capcom was pretty convinced Hakan was not a bad character. Seriously, if you look at all these buffs that represent a more evenly matched Hakan, like stackable oil and a bread and butter with a knock down, you have to wonder about past balancing.
Also: Could you lp slide underneath Honda’s heabutts before? Because you can now and can hp slide him as he recovers. Also, his lk buttslam seems to have been nerfed, so it’s rather easy to oil dive it.
Yeah, I’m having problems with Super as well! So many times I’ve tried to do super and got LK Oil instead, just as I see the jump, I think yeah, got him, then something else comes out…really irritating, I’ll just need to work on tightening my inputs I guess.
Yeah man, it’s all good, you’ll get it. I don’t think there are any issues now from what I’ve seen. I haven’t noticed getting a missed input yet (unless I know it was my fault), and I used to all the time in AE.
Samurai Drew I saw a replay of yours, and u used s.lk on n.jumps very wel. I’ve started using Oil dives as anti airs. Hakan is now more an on reaction char. Can I invite you against a good Claw player, I have hard time against him.
Super (Flying Oil Spin) DATA
LK.Super has frames of full strike invulnerablility -Anti Air or beat predicted laggy pokes
MK.Super has frames of full throw invulnerablility -beats throw and command throws
HK.Super has frames of full projectile invulnerablility -beats normal/super/Ultra.fireballs & Fei’s ex.rekka
To my understaning, Super will catch if opponent standing and do nothing.
And will hit with the above Data conditions. question:
Now if the opponent is couching and do nothing, Super will wiff.
In this case even if they are couching and do a normal jab/kick etc, Hakans super would still wiff??
