I’d like to add, in messing with the new F.MP->HP slide with no followup that crosses under the opponent, I’ve also messed around with doing cr.MK canceled into HP slide at point blank range and even HP slide raw at a point blank range and sometimes Hakan still passes through and crosses under the opponent. Its very inconsistent though, maybe 2 in 10 times ive managed to get a raw slide to pass through. Can’t pinpoint the ‘sweet spot’ so to speak. Needs more testing.
could be completely impractical untill we discover some solid setups after this strange glithcy looking crossunder technique, but something to keep in mind nonetheless.
Interesting stuff:
I believe I figured out what exactly they did to oil dive. It seems that oil dive can grab people as they are entering the crouch animation. Before, the “squatting down” animation was considered crouching (or at least, in a state where dive would whiff), so a lot of the time it would whiff.
Now, with this in mind, it makes certain stuff possible.
Your enemy can create uncrouchable DDTs for you.
You can “punish” Adon’s jag kicks, Rog’s lp rush punch (spacedependent), Fei’s Rekkas (spaceddependent), Honda’s MP headbutt, Rose’s spirals, Bisons non-lk scissor kicks, Viper’s ground burnkicks, etc.
While the frame data says these aren’t technically punishable by a 9 frame dive, the frames that it take the enemy to crouch block after their move gives you enough time to get the uncrouchable.
Again, this isn’t technically punishing; its simply letting your enemy set up their own uncrouchable for you, and setting a mixup for themselves (Should I mash c.lp to get out? What if he jabs and i get CH? etc).
Yeah, I noticed that it caught the opponent in an odd animation sometimes when I did a dive. Oil Dive has been given a major overhaul, and just looking at some of the technical uses like Liquigen suggested means there could be a lot of interesting applications for this. Good shit.
I still haven’t came out of training mode yet, haha.
Here’s some LK Dive setups that are new, just standard dive setups new to AE that you might want to use. All LK Dives, + one EX.

I did test Blanka, and I got an uncrouchable on him. (I think I did c.hk, whiff s.mk, hk dive)
Air reset, as in do an anti-air s.hp and your opponent lands with a standing animation into crouch. Or do a f.lp and lk dive them as they land. Air to air will work, too, although those are much harder to time to get an uncrouchable.
The reason I wouldn’t necessarily do mk dive is because you want to do it on reaction to them standing. If they crouched on your j.hk, you wouldn’t want to throw at all but combo (ideally), mk dive will whiff them, if they crouched on the j.hk. Against a big character like 'gief, it probably won’t go over their head either! That’s bad. The tiny walk is to give extra time to determine if they were standing or not. Good against people with heavy damage throws, for example.
Been playing matches on XBL with Hakan. Starting oiled is freaking awesome. Every few rounds I would start the round with dash-in SPD. Worked every time… granted, good players would definitely know to avoid this, but y’all really should try it on people you know aren’t gonna jump at the start of the round.

About the CC cancel, I was thinking and testing that move and I can say that this is going to be an awesome toll to use against people who know the Hakan Matchup.
Example: In a matchup against Abel you can try bait his wheel kick or even Ultra1 because the player will try punish your focus after abusing them against his normals then you use the CC cancel to avoid the move and try punish.
This is just thoughts and this was the main way I used that move in my first day of gameplay, and this way to use is not possible against some character as Viper.
I am really happy about the changes and impressed by the things already founded, once again congratz to all.
In Drew’s video he shows the HP or EX Oil Rocket > Jump Forward > lk Oil dive but I found this didn’t work in the corner if you had to jump over someone. However it still works if you simple do a neutral jump straight up into lk oil dive.
Here’s a lk dive set up that gives more meter: Slide-press, lp slide, lk dive.
Here’s something very, very nice: s.hp, confirm they are standing and confirm hit, uncrouchable lk dive. Works even on fast crouchers like Chun and Blanka. So, if you see a focus attack and punish it with s.hp, do a lk dive and see what happens :). (provided you’re close enough)

I just want to mention, the Sweep, backdash DDT setup works with super too. Though, with the big flash and all, I think it gives the opponent some time to mash something out.
Something interesting I saw when playing around vs blanka. I couldn’t do a single lp lp lk combo when he’s crouching. If he’s standing I can, but not when crouching. the lp to the second lp wont combo for some reason. Just a weird matchup thing I saw. I definitely wanna redo the matchup guide… but not anytime soon. Still need to relearn Hakan.
So, they DID improve the start-up on MK and HK Oil Dives. New MK seems like old LK, and new HK seems like old MK.
So f+mp hit xx HK Oil Dive is an uncrouchable now.

anti-air f+mp into HK oil dive of course always used to work but now that f+mp beats shit more its really easy to time to get an uncrouchable. Also in general lk oil dive is amazingly good, even with startup its pretty nuts. Since it grabs lower will it grab some crouch normals now that raise hitbox? I think that needs to be tested!
Just use s.lk. This has been this way for some time.

You can now do cr.lks on a standing opponent into an uncrouchable LK Oil Dive, also the dive can’t be backdashed or jumped out of. LOL
This can be done from max range > so for instance, cr.lk x 4 > LK Oil Dive
