When you say that someone didn’t really beat you, you are basically saying that they aren’t as good as you. You might as well talk shit like a man instead of coming up with an excuse for why you lost. Let’s not bullshit here. If you were playing someone in SF and they said “yeah you didn’t beat me, I beat myself.” It’s disrespectful and is basically implying that you aren’t as skilled as them.
As professional athletes though, you really SHOULD think your team is the best. And if you carry that mentality in, you’re gonna think that if you play 100% that you win for sure. So it goes both ways really.
That’s fine for them to think they’re better than the opponent going in, but that’s not the same as trying to explain the circumstances of a result such as a defeat. Plenty of times players and coaches will acknowledge the opponent executing better than they did, making the plays that they didn’t make, ect.
I dont understand why you are so bitter…no where does it say they think less of thier opponent or that they belittle them, they are simply stating that they beat themselves. why is that so hard to understand. every team goes into a game with a gameplan, if they didnt properly execute thier gameplan, of course the first thing will pop into thier head was “i didnt execute what i came out here to do” which is in essence we beat ourselves. now of course the REASON they couldnt do what they needed to do was because the 49ers were able to do what they wanted to do. and best beleive going into the locker room and watching film they know this better than anyone. honestly who gives 2 fucks if they dont praise thier opponent, what the fuck does that have to do with anything?
