2012-2013 NFL Discussion and Fantasy - TornadoFlame vs Travis - The rest of you are bandwagoners

I assume you mean on fantasy football, and not the Dolphins’ receiving corps. Well, there are a million little things, but they all center around a few major points: small sample side, strategic limitation, and a pretty shitty correlation between good actual football performance and good fantasy football performance. Moreso than other fantasy games, the battle is won and lost on draft day, and if you get a bad break, there’s very little you can actually do.

No use getting worked up either way over free fantasy football. Live drafts are always entertaining (to me at least, but I’m easily amused).

I’d like to see SRK try an auction-style fantasy league. The shitstorm would be amazing.

Most prenups have a clause that alter it in the case of the marriage ending and one of the parties is explicitly at fault (ie cheating, or abuse). Right now it’s looking like physical abuse (whether he actually did it or not) and adultery. She’s going to get paid.

Has it been stated that he was cheating? Or maybe he just wasn’t ready for a baby yet?

Lot of unanswered questions here still.

It is sad for all his talent and charisma that the biggest legacy Chad “OchoCinco” Johnson is probably looking at might be a text book example of why a man with wealth or power should avoid fucking with reality show hoes.

I hope he got a solid contact with one of the sports networks or is a great coach, because it is looking like his career is done.

I see. I believe you played in Fantasy League 2 back in 2009 with us on ESPN didn’t you?

What was really amusing about that year was Cool-Breeze made me commissioner over that league. Well, people were complaining during the draft that 1:30 per pick was too long and to shorten it. I remember like yesterday ShinBlanka had the last pick and I’d change the time allowed per pick right before he drafted a player which gave the first person picking their turn again. Essentially, no one but Larry noticed that he got skipped like rounds 2-4  Could you imagine missing out on three picks in a draft like that?

The funny thing is, I’ve never seen anyone get shafted like that, then pull off trades in his favor only to win the entire league. It was crazy

So I guess to an extent you’re right, draft day can screw you over (literally).

In regard to being won on draft day and being unable to recover, that’s ridiculously untrue.

I won the SRK league last year based off of my trade of Philip Rivers and Brandon Jacobs for Eli Manning and Steven Jackson. And adding Laurent Robinson. You just have to be smart enough to know as early as possible that the player you drafted isn’t gonna give you what you want/need AND getting rid of them at an optimal time (like after they have a decent game vs a shitty team).

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:

It’s about timing too.

OOhhhh shit can of worms just spilled

Nah not really. Larry knows about what happened. It was a total mistake on my part at the time. Plus, I even offered to hold another draft to which I believe he declined.

He ended up winning anyways, so it was all good.

Packers are making me nervous, given it’s Pre-Season however watching them lose that hard in both pre-season games makes me wanna vomit due to nausea simply because it seems like if our 1st stringers aren’t there, we are as good as doomed. Makes me very, very nervous and I’m hoping that this is just simply that, Pre-Season. Anyhow, I can’t wait for the NFL season to start, it’s like getting a flight to go see your girlfriend knowing you’ll get some loving and waiting in anticipation, that’s the feeling I get when waiting for the NFL season to roll around.

And you never could have done it if you didn’t have rivers and jacobs in the first place, which was my point.

i would agree with you Warp, but ive experienced it myself, starting a season shitty then picking up Maurice jones-drew the year fred taylor got hurt or larry johnson the year preist holmes got hurt, i came back, made the playoffs and won my league both of those years. your year isnt over after the draft, thats what free agency is for, you just have to be diligent and have a little foresight on who is good to pick up or handcuff etc.

No, he would have had other people in their places and he would have constructed a different trade. In addition, plenty of people breakout each year that are undrafted. 2 years ago Jamaal Charles and Miles Austin pretty much won my league for me, and both came off the waiver wire. The argument you’re trying to make isn’t a valid one.

You guys do realize I’m speaking in terms relative to other fantasy sports, right? Not in absolutes?

WE NEED SABERMETRIC FANTASY FOOTBALL!!

gonna miss the draft this year. gonna be in vegas on vacation. my season is over before it even starts

The app will open on a any smart phone to my knowledge.

I agree to this.

Not sure if it could possibly top the NBA auction draft we had this past year. That was full of lulz

I missed the draft the year I won. Just sayin’.
