2011-2012 NFL Discussion and Fantasy - Payton and RG3, where they going

lol. This shit is Madden.

lets see your list smart guy

ain’t gon lie, when I saw that brady/freeman trade, I was thinking to myself this isn’t fair at all…Especially looking at bison’s lineup now…

That was a pretty good game that was exciting until the last snap. Rodgers is basically unstoppable right now with Finley, Nelson, Jennings, Driver, Jones, and now Cobb. Add Starks and Grant to mix it up, and I don’t understand how Rodgers is going to be stopped this season (outside of injuries).

yea thats what i was saying last season, packers offense was beast mode last season and mad people were injured, rodgers should be straight up dominating this year barring any injuries.

Co-Sign, I just got back from the GAME!!! 75,000+ inside the stadium, and they calculated that if you counted the people outside it was over 150,000+ people at Lambeau Field!!! That is as much as the entire population of Green Bay itself (population is like 151,000) which is ridiculous. Btw, hotels were all booked for more then nearly 50+ miles away from Green Bay, lmao!!! Thank goodness I live in town so it wasn’t a huge leap to get there.

My pops was going nuts in that game, and honestly Brees made our defense look scrubby. That dude was just bossing it up, he was an Elite Tier QB who was just chucking passes that even I was grabbing my head going “OMG, you can’t cover that, it’s impossible”. As for Rodgers…what’s their to say, when we want to throw the ball, it’s impossible to stop #12. Finley was just Godly, and Jennings? Are you kidding me? Driver was a monster and super crucial on those plays, I <3 the guy, his consistency is too damn good, and Nelson, I used to give him so much trash, but now I am eating all of it, that dude has showed up and kick the words I’ve said right back to my face. Continue doing what you do Nelson.

Randall Cobb, lol, I am going to bandwagon this guy now. Too quick, and the kick off return, haha, I almost had a glimpse of Desmond Howard all over again. So could we see another era of this? I’m hoping he’s just that, but with the stupid bs rules, I highly doubt we’ll be seeing what #81 did for us back in 96.

Starks+Grant were sensational with the running, and the run blocking looked good tonight. If they continue this, their is no way any team in the NFL should be able to consistently stop our offense, I mean, we are just too loaded if we play to our potential. At least from this game, our offense looks great, and I don’t think our defense looks “this” bad, because Brees and the Saints offense is just that good. I was expecting a 27 pt or so game, but not a 42-34 rofling pulling my hair, on the verge of a heart attack win.

This was a great start to the season, I don’t want to meet the Saints in the Playoffs unless its here at Lambeau, that team is good. I’m so hyped for football guys, my G-Men got the win, and my week will be nothing but hearts and kisses until the next time the Packers play.

I listened to most of the game on the radio at work, and saw just the end at home. I thought it was going to be a low scoring game (offenses needing to get up to speed), but I was very wrong on that. What I didn’t like was Green Bay rushing only 3 guys with 1 minute left. You know the Saints are going to pass, so rush more guys. All Brees needs is time and he’s going to hit someone, and that’s what he did. Green Bay dodged a big one, but if they do something like that again, it will bite them in the ass.

Prevent defense sucks.

Co-sing with this hard. At the beginning when we were up 21 points or whatever, they were 3rd and 13…and we played Prevent??? Seriously? Had we blitzed, Brees would’ve been forced into a short pass. Much better then giving him 10 seconds to throw the ball in which he converted the 3rd and 13. I’m not a huge fan of the play calling sometimes, especially on 3rd and double digit yards to go. We need to play a bit more aggressive in those situations…remember 4th and 26…A good QB>>>>>Prevent Defense, because prevent will prevent you from winning as the saying goes.

Watch the Lions stop you guys.

I’m not kidding either.

Saints were so fucking free that first quarter. Shit hurt me more inside than all the chicken wings I ate while watching it. Gotta love all the random drops and fumbles too. And of course we would be the team that that rookie decided to show his mutant powers on, I mean that nigga got that spiderman agility.

You’ll see. I’m going to make sure I save this post so that when it happens, I remind you about it.

Arsenal’s the realist fan in this thread, and I’m sure he knows the Lions won’t be a push over this year, especially defensively. The Lions IMO are the only team in the NFC North that will be competition for Green Bay this year. Bank on it. Did you even see what they did to Brady? Granted it was the preseason, but if that game went on, I’m convinced the Pats wouldn’t have won.

Who dat?!?! Lost?!?!?

Where’s monbaby?!?!?!?

Lions defense is pretty sick, at least their defensive line (secondary is suspect as fuck). Rodgers has shown reasonable ability to extend plays while under pressure (Brady has never in his entire career), and Rodgers is pretty much the master of completing the short throw on the run, so I feel good about Packers passing offense vs Lions pass defense. I like the matchup of Rodgers + WR corp versus that “meh” Lions secondary; only hope Lions defense has is at the line of scrimmage.

EDIT: By the way, if I was James Jones, I’d be pretty scared right now if Cobb plays even half as well for the rest of the season as he did last night. Our WR corps is already pretty crowded and there are only so many passes to go around. Finley/Jennings get first pick, Driver/Nelson second, then it’s a tossup between Cobb/Jones/everyone else. It’ll be interesting to see how Jones responds (so much potential, terrible hands thus far).

EDIT2: Rodgers is pretty much the biggest troll. He uses sarcasm to ease the sting, but he’s getting in on everyone who claimed the Packers would suffer from not organizing player workouts during the lockout; it’s like he wants to start a flamewar, just so he can snap and throw for 450+ yards and 4 TDs and laugh in their faces.

I agree, lions secondary is nothing to be scared of. but thier defensive line and linebacking core have always been pretty dam good. i dont think the packers will be able to run to great avail against the lions, but i dont think the lions can stop the pass attack either.

I agree that game was like watching high level madden.

Brees + Rodgers = crying defenses. I totally didn’t expect that 108 yard barrel roll kickoff return though, that shit was pure video game level shit.

He’s slooooowly becoming overly sensitive and annoyingly arrogant. He hangs on every negative thing anyone in the media says about him or the Pack. You’re the friggin’ champ, let your play say it all.

With the Mark Sanchez/GQ thing, everyone was thinking what Rodgers had the balls to say (even though it was in a joking manner). That GQ spread is gay as fuck. Not gayer than Brady and his Uggs, but at least Brady can say “I have 3 rings and fuck Gisele. I can wear whatever I want.”

With the lockout practices, yeah, he’s just trolling with some of his comments. Btw, Rodgers always has given off that Northern California, too-cool-for-school attitude; that’s actually one of the main reasons the 49ers were turned off by him during pre-draft interviews (Rodgers and 49ers coaching staff ended up hating each other apparently).

But at the end of the day, it’s hard not to rub it in your critics’ faces when you always turn out to be right and them wrong; from the draft debacle, to the Favre saga, to the “can’t win a playoff game” tag, to little shit like “Packers will be rusty because Rodgers didn’t lead the team in lockout practices”… I’d probably start talking shit too if I was in his shoes.

Favre saga? Favre was the better QB until he went to the Jets. It’s not like the Packers were saying, “Hey Aaron, you’re better - but that’s Brett Favre man!” It was more like “You’re ready to start, but as long as Brett’s around he’s the better option”. He got his shot and earned a ring. Congratulations.

The thing a champion doesn’t do is rub every time they’ve proved the critics wrong in their faces - at least not bluntly. It’s the reason guys like Brady and Manning get so much respect. They don’t have to say anything. They know that you know. They know everybody knows you know. You can see it in their body language. That’s a champion. Rodgers comes off as insecure when he blatantly goes on his “I was right, you were wrong! Wrong !” comments.
