2011-2012 NFL Discussion and Fantasy - Payton and RG3, where they going

They 'were’
But hey, go get em tiger.

Pretty sure this didn’t happen.

I am pretty sure greg jennings is the only nigga to put the team on his back

Marshawn Lynch can, but it’s a secret skill only usable in beast mode.

Bengals so winning the SB yo.

Mzenken I sent you a PM
Apparently I am not listed inside the league on my account

I know it’s only preseason, but I use this time to potentially gauge how effective the starters and depth might be in the regular season. The Vikings O-line looked pretty bad against the Titans, yesterday, although Loadholt looked pretty good, and Love might see more time at LT. What I saw was that they were getting pushed around in the run game, and defenders were making contacting well inside the backfield, although it started to get better towards the end (then again, those were against 2nd and 3rd stringers). The O-Lines, pass protection was really poor as well. McNabb, Webb, and Ponder were almost always under duress (this is another reason why bringing Favre back wouldn’t have been a good idea, anyways).

The D-line is definitely in need of help. No longer is this going to be the dominant run-stuffing team. The D-line was getting pushed around quite a bit. Robison was paid to be a pass rusher specialist, as he sucks against the run, but he doesn’t even look that great against the pass (marginally better than Ray Edwards). Ballard looked pretty good, though. This should probably be taken with a grain of salt, though, as Kevin Williams and Jared Allen weren’t playing.

The secondary was without Cedric Griffin, Winfield, and Raymond (who is said to be looking really good at safety) so I won’t criticize too much, but this and the O-Line are probably the weakest links. Chris Cook doesn’t seem to be effective at CB (he should probably move to safety), and there was a pass interference call where (I think) Burton didn’t even need to touch the Titan receiver, as the ball was way over thrown. The pass rush better be really good, or else it will be a long season for the secondary.

As far as QB play, McNabb played alright, but he was constantly under duress. Ponder looked decent as well, but Webb looks like a deer in the headlights whenever he’s in the pocket. I never though he should be a QB (as his physical strengths would serve him best to play WR, or returner). I would definitely take Webb over Tarvaris, though. Receiver play wasn’t great, but it is expected as the offense is usually behind initially as far as being cohesive goes.

I think the Seahawks game next week will probably have more to tell, as some of the starters should be coming back.

It is the preseason none of this means shit, Pro Football is the one sport where you can literally gauge nothing from the preseason.

PM either me or mzenken for a league spot.

Why is everyone ignoring the first post?

Also, lets fill those leagues!!!

EDIT: 2 spots left in league 1 & 2 spots left in league 2.

Things shaping up nicely.

Just sent you a pm with my email kaz. Hoping to do well!

Preseason typically means little to me, and this preseason means even less thanks to the lockout. Preseason is a good chance though to see how your 3rd/4th string scrubs measure up against your opponent’s 3rd/4th string scrubs, if that excites you at all.

top 7 RBs are AP/CJ/foster/charles/ray ray/mccoy/mendenhall and then there’s a decent decline after that. Everybody afterwards has some injury issues (turner, mcfadden, sjax, MJD, gore). Although if any of those later guys stay healthy they could easily put up top 3 numbers. I don’t know about everybody else but I like to draft a safe RB1 and then shoot for the moon on RB2/3s later. You can’t win on your top pick but you could certainly lose.

How could we forget about McCoy?

Good point.

However, I’m looking for Ronnie Brown to steal some of his thunder this year…

Ronnie Brown looked extremely washed up last year in Miami, and got outplayed soundly by 33 year old Pretty Ricky.

Yeah, but I still think he’s going to be a solid #2. With all the weapons the Eagles should be able to primarily use McCoy between the 20s. I could see Ronnie Brown being pretty solid in red zone situations.

Oh Lions fans… http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AlE1tqgwCQvrx_lV4rfm7Q1DubYF?slug=ap-lions-wrightinjured

Lions have NO luck what so ever

Watch Stafford re-injure his shoulder opening up a shampoo bottle or something…

Neither do the DEADskins.

I have high hopes for you guys this year.

My high hopes = 0-16.

Anyways I was was only expecting 6-8 wins for my Lions this year anyways.

you take that back dammit.
