As an Eagles fan, this new secondary (assuming Asante isn’t traded) reminds be of the Bobby Taylor, Troy Vincent, Brian Dawkins teams. This is the first time I can remember that we have both an incredible offense and great (on paper for now) defense. Usually we shuffle between the two. It’s definitely Superbowl or bust with these moves.

Olsen was by far the safety blanket of the past 2 maybe 3 QB’s the Chicago Bears had in house.
He was always the go to guy and was clutch when doing so, outside Forte in the backfield with that boo boo O-Line making things happen, Hester on Punt Returns, Olsen was the man for them.

I looked up his drop percentage, and you’re right he has a great percentage as far as not dropping passes. I just remember two balls in particular he dropped. One was inside the red zone, and another was a wide open TD from a little farther out. But his drop percentage is one of the best for a tight end. I’ll retract my prior statement.
I’ll still stand by my statement that Chicago is better off without him as long as they are running their current offensive scheme. Dude cannot block, and I feel that’s the more pressing issue.

The crux of the Martz system is having a QB able to stick a ball in a location with pinpoint accuracy and receivers that can run routes. You have neither. That could be because of your dreadful o-line (btw, drafting Gabe doesn’t automatically upgrade your o-line) which is making the QB less accurate and the receivers look retarded running out there, but I don’t think you can put it all on the o-line. Cutler just has wonky mechanics and wants to just heave it out there instead of throwing a pinpoint 8 yard pass. I think he also is having a difficult time adjusting to throwing it to a spot instead of an actual receiver. Your receivers also are pretty mediocre. Martz’ system shined when you had a HoF-level QB like Warner passing to elite WRs like Bruce and Holt… but CHI doesn’t have anything even close to that, so your passing offense is struggling, then the o-line is just making a bad situation worse.
I agree with you to a point, but Martz’s QBs have put up big numbers no matter where he went. Even Kitna put up huge numbers with Detroit, and even Mike Furrey had a 98 catch year once…those guys are not top players either. The system works, but they disciplined wideouts who can run routes to do so. There seemed to be way too much crossed signals with Cutler and the receiving corps.
