I recommend going early. Pretty sure parking is free (a rare thing for a hotel), so spots will probably go fast.
I don’t remember if I mentioned this, but there is going to be a raffle.
It’s just like a put names in a hat and draw one out type deal.
Prizes for that will be Japanese candy, exclusive Blazblue CS posters (these only came if you bought the CS arcade machine), 1 month xbox live, SF2 for PC (comes with SF1 and Megaman 1 and 3), I-pod Shuffle, and USB memory sticks (they look like lava lamps and glow when you plug them in).
There’s a also a possibility of rare BBCT and CS artbooks (both of these are really nice).
Hey! Thanks for showing up guys! Sorry we ran so late, there were issues with trying to get setups running along with the stream (there were issues with that as well which is why we ended up only streaming blazblue uu;; ) v. hotel internet. Plus, it was a really big surprise at how many people entered. I wasn’t expecting more than 30 people for any tournament because of how small Aki-con is, but Blazblue was almost 50, Guilty Gear was 30, and even Melty Blood was like… 42-45?
It’s awesome to see that you guys had a strong turn out too. Sorry for the delay in getting the second setup for Super. There were supposed to be three, but there was miscommunication in who was supposed to bring what (uh, I was really surprised to hear that Riki was in Florida) and we ended up being short on hands.
From what I saw though, you guys were running really well. Sorry you didn’t get to finish your finals, but I hope you guys ended up enjoying the prizes that were given out. Aki-con said they’d like to see us back, so if things go right then we’re definitely thinking of doing this again next year… with more organization and better prizes. I’ll post the results up here later today. But I hope you guys had fun. If there are any further comments, suggestions, or questions post here or shoot me a PM.
Sorry we didn’t get any Super footage. >_<; But, uh… we’ll be doing random recordings at Digipen. If any of you guys want to stop by and hang out, feel free. We usually have at least one Super setup going.
A lot of people entered all the tournaments (and though it was a scheduling nightmare), I thought that was really neat.
We’ll be posting the recorded finals up here. But we also got a lot of recorded matches of the brackets (only for Blazblue though. >_<; when we were testing the setup it took so long that it was all we had time to do. personally, I really wanted to get more Guilty Gear and Melty Blood recorded), so we’ll also be posting those on this channel. Some of them are really funny, so be sure to check them out.
If there are any particular request for matches, lemme know and we’ll go look for them.
