-Stay in the area during the tournament (or at least have your phone handy, etc). Three calls total will be made when your match is on board. If you happen to be out of the area, we may let a match go ahead of yours, but we don’t have to and reserve the right to DQ you if you’re not present when called.

2v2 Teams is a possibility.

*Since this has been brought up, BBCS tournament will be PS3 only. I am sorry to 360 pad players. If someone wants to bring a 360 setup for casuals, that is fine. But… I do not want to be stuck in a situation where two people are fighting over what setup to play on. If both players agree to have a tournament match on a 360 setup, then that is fine. Otherwise, the tournament will be PS3 only.

*In regards to that issue with Super, it’s up to the community to do what they feel is best. As far as I know, one person has volunteered to bring a PS3 for super, but I do know a lot of the community does prefer 360. At the moment I will leave it up to the SRK guys to decide what they want to do.

Volunteers (will be paid in melon bread)-
Blazblue- Munsu, Huey253
Melty Blood AA- Tae Seong Kim, MissedFRC
GGAC± Blargster (or w0ki if he decides to run it)
Super-

maaan akicon is so trash lol. but its still new and has a lot of growth potential.

I would like to help only if they will be handing out some deodorant sticks at the door.

^I’ll show up for the hours the tournament will be held, painter’s ventilator mask on and ready to get some free money/prizes IF they are worth the time/hassle

I have no problems with that. Febreeze is also welcome. (Just don’t get us kicked out.) I also highly recommend that everyone shower before showing up.

I will have to figure out some kind of fund raising method for prizes, especially since I don’t really know what the SRK community likes. Suggestions would be great also, if there’s anything the community would like to pitch in, that’s also welcome (I have a C. Viper figurine, but I dunno if anyone wants that).

Our community doesn’t have a lot of 360s though, so if you guys want to play on 360s it’d be great if you guys brought setups. We need four PS2s (including the one I’m bringing, we have 3 accounted for), three 360s, and three PS3s and… also, naturally copies of the game to go with it.

PS2/PS3s and copies of BBCS/MBAA/GGAC+ are pretty easy to get a hold of, but most of the copies of SSF4 around here are PS3. TVs/monitors would also be great (CRTs for GGAC+/MBAA and lagless monitors for SSF4/BBCS). Akicon will be providing some, but I dunno how great they are. We do have a couple people bringing monitors and CRT, but more would be great.

Akicon is small, but they’re a lot easier to get a hold of and easier to work with because there’s not a million years of red tape.

Volunteers to help run equipment and brackets would also be awesome.

condoms and glowsticks for all entrants

I’ll bring my PS3 te and my PS3 copy of Super if it’s needed. This event sounds fun.

surprisingly, anime fans smell better than gamer fans (found this out after going to sakuracon and PAX)…but still yeah.

Bumping, we still need a few more setups for Super.

Update- With a little over 1 month until the event, I thought I’d just pop back in here.

I think? We have two setups for Super now. One of the guys bringing a setup is from Canada, and I’d rather confirm local people for bringing stuff since I know what shit can come up while traveling.

If you are interested, please pm me with what equipment you want to bring and a way to contact you as I want to confirm with everyone bringing equipment a week before the event so we know for sure what’s being brought.

I’d like at least one more (two to be safe). If anyone wants to bring one, please PM me or Lord Raptor.

There will be a live stream, I will post the channel of the stream here. Each game will be streamed for about 50 minutes, and the order I’m thinking of is Guilty Gear, Melty Blood, Super, Blazblue CS. And, of course, top four for all games will be live streamed. I haven’t decided where, but it’ll either be Top Tier Gaming on Justin TV, or iplaywinner.

We’ll be making an actual trailer soon. However, if there are people who have footage that they’d like to possibly be included in the final trailer, please contact me. We want as much footage of local players since that’s what we’re trying to pimp.

Look forward to seeing you guys there. We’ll do our best to make it a fun event. I’ll also try to think of good prizes for Super. If there’s anything someone in the SRK community want to throw in, that’d be great.

I was wondering how big this event was. Then I see Johnny Yong Bosch on the list of guests. That definitely made me more interested.

Aki-con is still relatively new, so it is smaller than Sakura-con, but the staff are working hard to make it bigger every year.

Also, if anyone here has footage- we need footage for SF4 by Friday. Just post links to youtube video of local matches you want to be used here.

And we still need more confirmed setups for Super. Please bring those (and post that you are bringing them).

For those who are interested, we will be streaming live on justin.tv/toptiergaming and we’ll have hype commentary from awesome people like Jais and Scooter.

I’m putting in my own money and our scene is raising more money for prizes. Don’t expect anything huge, but we’ll be doing our best. If there’s anything you guys would like to throw in, that’ also be appreciated. There will be prizes for at least first and second place for all tourneys. Goal is to make all first place prizes to be worth at least $30 and second place prizes worth $10. However, I’ll let you guys know for sure.

However, because this is where the donaters have requested it to be, the Exia model will go towards Guilty Gear and the $100 will go towards Blazblue. I’ll try to have cool stuff for Super too.

I will most likely be coming to this. I can bring my stick and a copy of super for 360.

im goin. got my hotel booked. i thought it was gonna be in everette, but bellevue is doable.

Uh… at this point I dunno if anyone is bringing a 360 for super. However, if someone does and there’s enough TVs, you’re more than welcome to set it up for casuals.
