1 - DEADPOOL!!! <3333333333333333333
2 - Bob Agent Of Hydra
3- kilowogg
4- bucky cap
5 - k’lrt
6 - inkblot face from watchmen
7 - hal jordan (taichi would love this)
8- cyclops (only if written by wedon or ellis)
9 - norman osborn (tbolts 120)
10 - agent x (second rate deadpool wannabe)
11 - HULK SMASH!!!11
I could probably come up with an (almost) entirely different ballot if you asked me again tomorrow, but this is what I came up with.
Superman: Come on, guys. You knew this was a given. He is my favorite fictional character.
Vladek Spiegelman (Maus): Dude survived the Holocaust and still manages to be racist against black people. Not even Dr. House is that fucking curmudgeonly.
Marv (Sin City): Contradictions can either render a character totally unbelievable or just a little more believable. With Marv, it’s the latter.
Son Goku (Dragon Ball): He never hardens. He never becomes more worldly. He’s always naive and sort of dimwitted, which is exactly why so many of the antagonists in the series are won over by him. He’s absolutely incorruptible.
Mitchell Hundred (Ex Machina): On one hand, he’s presented as the ideal candidate, and on the other hand, he’s also a sometimes-tragic example of what happens when idealism and reality meet.
Rorschach (Watchmen): One of the most well-realized characters in the history of the superhero genre, and one of the most disturbing. He’s Travis Bickle with a mask.
Supreme (Alan Moore version): See, I get to vote for Superman twice. This is an interesting take on the character, adding on meta-fiction, satire, and assorted other Alan Moore clever-dickery.
Dr. Manhattan (Watchmen): Might as well make it an Alan Moore threefer. Dr. Manhattan is the best logical extrapolation I can think of for the standard “powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men” superhero trope.
Swamp Thing: A walking vegetable who thought he was a human and eventually became the protector of vegetables that don’t walk, or some shit. I love the sci-fi weirdness. And I guess this is four Alan Moore characters now. Sue me.
Dream/Morpheus/Whatever (The Sandman): A long-running series with an actual arc for the main character? Sign my ass up.
Short and Sweet, here we go:
Ultimate Nick Fury
Iron Man
Sanji
50’s Superman(Loved the color scheme)
Batman(a.k.a. Terry McGiness)
Hmm tough call-
1- DeadPool
2- Jonah Hex
3- The Riddler
4- Thor
5- Ironman
6- Richard Rider (Nova)
7- Nightcrawler
8- Cyclops
9- Colossus
10- Cassandra Cain (Batgirl)
Hmm that kinda sums it up for me, I really don’t favour one character over the other but DeadPool’ll prob. remain my fav. comic book character for a long time.
Sano you should’ve made it 4 threads; 1 for Marvel, 1 for DC, 1 for Asian comics and 1 for Other Publishers (Dark Horse, Image, etc.).
It’ll be much easier to vote in IMO.
I didn’t mean either Steve Rogers or Bucky. I could have been more specific, but I just meant Captain America, The Icon, which is what Brubaker’s run has completely encapsulated.
Whaaaat… Dammit, bub, there goes all your high-falutin’, pretentious indie rock street cred. You’re the last dude I would have ever expected to like Dragon Ball.

Hey, at least I didn’t put Rorschach as my number two. The only thing you could have done that would have been more emo is find a way to sneak Holden Caulfield and Davey Havok into your list. LIFE IS PAIN. I UNDERSTAND YOU, MAN.
See, I’m not sure how to count that exactly? I guess I’ll add your vote to whoever leads between Bucky Barnes or Steve?
No one has voted for Steve Rogers just yet, or John Walker when he did his Captain America stint so so far it’s not an issue.
I still see a Bru/Cap as a vote for Bucky, just because Bucky Captain America was off the table for every other writer for about a year, no one used him but Bru. It’s only recently that he has shown up in Avengers Invaders and Secret Invasion.
I can always make just say 1 vote for Bru Incarnation included in votes, similar to the All Star Batman deal…
Easier to vote, more difficult and time consuming to count. Besides this site heavily favors Marvel truth be told. Some people would look over DC completley except to vote for Batman…

Eh I dunno, making one for DC would also show who the SRKers like, I mean heck someone voted for Goku (not that I have a problem with or was surprised at it…actually I was surprised that you can vote for Asian Comic characters as well XD) and that widened the eyes of some people around here.
At the end of the day its your call. I’ve made my list, but it only features characters from Marvel and DC (I’d add in from Image but that would totally make me go :looney: just deciding who I favour over who
My post holds BTW (and Jonah Hex IS my fav. DC character), so that’s my contribution.
One vote for Adam Warlock - Check.
LOL but that was more about who voted for Goku, and quite frankly I’m surprised that Zephy didn’t know Goody was a Dragon Ball fan at this point? Well staying away from Dragon Ball related threads is overall good for your health I guess… :looney:
Though yeah I’m not much for seperating stuff, you get a lot of blurry lines in the long run. There are lots of people who didn’t originate as comic book characters. Jimmy Olsen started out a character on Superman’s radio show. And then you have merchandising craziness like Marvel released Godzilla comics, DC/Wildstorm released Ninja Scroll comics, etc. G.I. Joe started out as a toyline but the silent Snake Eyes issue was history in the making. It’s best to let the voters decide IMHO. So long as the property’s available in English, it’s fine by me. If someone loves Lone Wolf and Cub on the same level or even more than they love Maus I’d hate to deny them anything. Majority still rules and everyone needs at least 2 votes to kinda matter…
Empire’s List was the same way really, maybe more for people who either or originated as comic book characters or are best known as being comic book characters, but again I want as many people to participate as possible. But yeah, so far no Spawn votes… Empire had him up at like #5… No real Spawn hate really but c’mon man he shouldn’t be #5… :looney:
Bah some still count as comic book characters though.
Anyway maybe in a future poll we can have separate ones, now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to go back and see some more SF4 pics after Gen’s confirmation mindfucked me…LOST-style.
Okay I got your vote for Gen, check! I keed I keed. :clown:
You know I would never even think about lurking in a Dragon Ball thread, so this revelation has rocked my world. Last night, I could hardly get any restful sleep at all. I feel like I’ve been sucker punched, frankly. I don’t know if I can ever read goody’s blog and other semi-intellectual postings with a straight face again. The only thing keeping me sane is my AFI albums… HEY MISS MURDER
Also, I am all in favor of giving Sano more work to do, but I think one “voting” thread is good enough. I can already predict that the top five of this poll will include Spider-Man, Wolverine, Batman, and Deadpool. There’s really no point in opening it up when the good people of SRK are gonna vote for Deadpool regardless. And even if Sano were to add more categories for each company, nobody here is that well-read anyway. Ha ha. Yes, I said that. Whatcha gonna do? Ya’ll RABBITS ARE ROADKILL
Thread winner, already?
