Thanks a lot, Toodles. Now my VSHG running smoothly :wgrin:
This is a new pcb Iāve just encountered while wiring for a dual mod project w/ the cthulhu board along with the imp board. After soldering it, the xbox pcb seems to be recognizing itself on the PC, but not on the 360 console. When I plug the controller in, the madcatz starts blinking (all 4 rings.) and I canāt seem to get it functioning. However, when I start the 360 console up, I can use the guide button and THATS IT. The Cthulhu board seems to be functioning fine after using the imp switch mod as the secondary controller.
I have highlighted the area on the 360 pcb in LIME GREEN as the ground wire connected the āCā slot of the PS3 Cthulhu board. Might that be the problem why the madcatz pcb doesnāt recognize itself on the 360 console only?
NM, fixed it!
Hey danzborin, did you ever get your hrap3 dual mod finished? Im curius, hit me up if you need a ps3 to test it on.
Check out this Tekken 5 stick I modded.
Put Ls32, seimitsu buttons and dual modded with a psx and mc 360 pad.
I have a few connections to re-solder between the ps3 board and the impā¦ I pulled a few things apart troubleshootingā¦
xbox side works fineā¦ only odd side effect is if I go into the messaging window and hit A too hard on the add text menu, it blinks out and goes back to the messaging windowā¦ but if I hit it soft it works fineā¦ I think the hori button Iām using as guide is a bit to sensitive and is triggering accidentallyā¦ not sure, but I can live with itā¦
when I have some more time, I will pull it apart and get the imp part doneā¦ and take out the seimitsu buttonsā¦ gotta go back to sanwaā¦ so much betterā¦
xbox360 pad with a p360
first i would like to know if this is worth doing, and second does anyone have any wiring diagrams to show exactly where the connections go?
What are the issues with the new p360s; I have the old one wired for a ps and use a converter to dc.
Are there any guides how to dual mod a hrap3 USING the hrap3 pcb? Or rather just pictures of where to solder? Specifically where the 3.5v solder point is.
Hi guys, just wondering if ALL gamestop 360 controllers are common ground
In particular these ones:
http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=43229
Iām looking into modding a HRAP3 for people and need common ground wired pcbs for the 360 readily available and these look like the only ones.
Sorry if this has been answered already, iām just starting to go through the thread and iām on page 2 :S
Short version:
2 PCBs, hrap2 and 360. With ground connected, only 360 works. With ground and power connected, neither works.
Long version:
Hey all. Long time lurker, first time poster.
Iām trying to add a 360 PCB to my HRAP2:SA.
Iām using the HRAP2:SAās own PCB and a 2009 Madcatz 360 controller, Gamestop logo on the handle. Itās got a bit of a different layout than the 2007 one on slagcoin, but using my multimeter Iāve figured out most of the differences.
Following the diagrams and posts here Iām almost done, but thereās one little thing screwing me up: Connecting the power between the HRAP2:SA PCB and the 360 PCB.
Right now, with everything but the power (including ground, of course) connected between the boards, it works perfectly with the 360 board, but if I plug the hrap2saās board (to a pc through my ps2->usb converter which worked with the hrap before the mod) most of the buttons are read as held down, stick doesnāt work.
Since neither board is diagrammed on slagcoin I located what I believed to be the +5V on each board using my multimeter with the ground points. These points each read 5 volts of difference with the ground with their own board plugged into USB. On the hrapās side, itās the blue wire on the connector between the cord and the board. On the Madcatz board, itās labeled USB. If I connect these, I get the same problem as above with PS2->USB, and with the 360 USB I get āPower surge on USB port: A USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub portā
Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Looks to me like the hrap2 may not be common groundā¦
One more thing: Even with the power connection disconnected, I still canāt use the 360 side if the end of the PS2 cord has my USB converter hanging off of it. In that case it has the same problem as the PS2 side. I have to take the converter off for the 360 side to work.
Adding a 360 pcb to a hori fight stick 3
Hello, I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with adding a 360 pcb to a hori fight stick 3 using the original pcb? I tried searching but didnāt come up with anything. Thanks in advance
look back a couple pages and youāll see:

Hey, dual modded my 360 TE stick with a Cthulhu board and for some odd reason my RT for 360 doesnāt work well everything else works fine. I solder the wire from the madcatz pcb to the Cthulhu.
does the RT work when its using the cthuhlu board?
Yeah.
you might want to re-check the solder point on the RT of the mad catz pcb thenā¦ re-solder it if you have to, do you have multimeter?
Can you check for continuity?
Looking to do this too. want both pcb wireless. i already have a sixaxis stick made and want to add a 360 to it.
im more interested in getting both of the pcb to work on 1 stick but at same time not running them pcb so both systems dont turn on randomly.
can i just Y the connections so 1 goes to ps3 pcb and other goes to 360 pcb? iāll have 2 home bottoms (so it doesnt turn the other system) and 2 usb ports for syncing or is it more complicating then that?
worst comes to worst iāll just do a reversiable stick top side is ps3 bottom side is 360. just flip the box accordingly ā¦ lol (thats gettho)

Itās not a complete guide as Iām still working on the battery situation atm. It does have a working schematic of a common ground mod for the sixaxis though.
Thanks, Iāll try that this weekend.
Would anyone mind giving me some sort of ms-paint diagram showing where to wire the button w/ ground for all the buttons, the ground for the controller and the 5v (or 3.3 or whatever).
Hello everyone!!
I want to add a Dreamcast pcb to my arcade stick (wich is hacked with a USB Genius pad)
Iām aware about the L and R triggers lag, but right now it doesnt matter for me as Iām not going to use these (Im playing VF3tb).
So, this is the pcb im using - i have the cables soldered to the cherry switches and used just one cable for ground (chaining? whats the name? sorry) as the pcb is common ground
http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/3090/dsc01097at0.jpg
so my question is, should I follow this??
I know where to find the +5V from the Dreamcast pcb, as seen here
but im really confused as i dont know where to find the +3.3V at my Genius PCB
http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/3090/dsc01097at0.jpg
maybe someone can point me where to solder to make the bridge between the DC pcb +5v and the Genius +3.3V ??
And, why should it be +3.3V ?? What if my Genius pcb doesnt have 3.3, but +5V?
Sorry for my noob question guys, Im learning a lot everyday thanks to you guys
