2 PCB's in one stick - Possible?

so I am seeing the common ground mods for the 360, how would this apply to a sixaxis, being that the sixaxis has the 4 grounds. Im not really sure what parts I need

red-comet,

Didnā€™t read too carefully wrt sixaxis, but you will need to confirm with the electronics experts whether the sixaxis behaves the same way as the official early xb360 and if it possible to apply bencaoā€™s tutorial for it

From my own laymanā€™s understanding, the xb360 uses ā€œlineā€ to activate buttons/directions when shorted wheras and the triggers uses ground. bencaoā€™s tutorial goes through the xb360 directionā€™s only. But what it does (my understanding) with the ic/resistors is convert the ā€œseparate line (or groups of line)ā€ to ā€œcommon groundā€. So by converting my xb360 to a common ground pad; I was able to dual mod it with the mc-cthulhu or if I wanted to light-up mod ā€¦

The earlier xb360s are setup similar to the sixaxis where 2/3 buttons/directions are connected to the same ā€œlineā€ ā€¦ ex up/down/rb are grouped together

disclaimer: again this is just my understanding and please confirm before proceeding.

questions in other forums say itā€™s common ground.

is or not CG??

I have cthulhu
I am buying this x360 controller

Itā€™s common line, not common ground. You will not be able to dual PCB with any of the official Microsoft controllers without doing the mods mentioned above.

I have the Madcatz arcade stick pcb

on my T5 arcade stick. I took the T5 pcb out so i can use it for xbox360 only but now i wanna put it back so Iā€™ll have xbox360 and ps2 stick(ps3 w/ adaptor) i just wanna know how will i connect both pcb. Thanks

iā€™ve kinda got the same idea as stikeeykey03, iā€™m using my shell from my T5 hori stick, i already took out the hori pcb and switched the buttons with SANWA and cherry microswitches, now the only question that i have is which DPDT switch do i get, iā€™ve got a Cthulhu board and the mad catz retro stick all wired up, iā€™m running one usb cable through an rj45, i know i have to connect the D+ and D- to each side of the switch, but which switch do i get?

what do you mean which DPDT switch to get? what are your options? As long as it is a DPDT (Double Pole, Double Trow) type switch it doesnt really matter.

i was just wondering if it matter what kind, i already bought a on-on rocker dpdt to use, but thanks for the info

Iā€™ve been reading through this thread and will be modding a HRAP3 with a madcatz retro pad and an Impā€¦

I only have one questionā€¦ Iā€™ve read through this thread http://www.ozhadou.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=51794 and would like to know if anybody knows what pins are for what buttons, and what directions for the stickā€¦ this would make life MUCH easierā€¦ Iā€™ve yet to find a good diagram of whatā€™s what on the HRAP3 PCBā€¦

Any answers would be appreciatedā€¦

Thanks!!!

^^^ anybody have a pic of the request above? Trying to get the last piece of the puzzle before I start my dual modā€¦

So are you just only asking for the pinout of the HRAP3 board?

yes, but one that shows which solder points are up/down/left/rightā€¦

Are the wires still soldered to the board from the stick and buttons?

If not, you can connect the board to the system and just ground each point to see what button it is.

if im doing a dual mod using the cthuhlu board(assembled) and a retro 360 pcb, would i have to use the usb cable from the matcatz pcb? or can i use the USB jack on the cthuhlu board?

your usb cable needs to be connected to the switch or imp board. read over the cthulhu thread http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=162026

  1. No, you do not have to use the 2nd usb cable from the madcatz pcb.
  2. No, you cannot simply use the usb jack on the cthulhu as is if you want 1 cable because you need to hook up the d+ and d- wires to the dpdt switch or imp board.

Hey Guys,

I dont know if somebody has the same problems as me, but I finish up my dual control panel for my arcade cabinet cthulhu & x360 madcatz controller. For each player is 2 usbs comming out the controlpanel. One for pc/ps3 and one for x360. I follow a diagram that was posted here before. The cthulhu part works perfect, but the arcade buttons on my x360 acting very weird. In the x360 dashboard everythings works normal, when I put a gamedisc Virtua fighter 5 or Dead or alive 4 the menu still works fine. But when I start the game my controls doesnt work. I tested all the buttons in on my pc, but it registrate all the buttons correct. At first I thought it was my commond ground cables. Later on I play some arcade games on my x360, like mortal kombat etc and here the buttons works correct?? I dont get it. Hope somebody else has face the problem before.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, new to the stick forums. I just wandered through about 5 different sections looking for some particular info, and sadly the ā€œin-threadā€ search function is not working for me, probably due to bandwidth issues (Iā€™m currently underway.). So, I figured I would resort to being that guy who starts a new post in a thread. Bear with me here.

I just got an HRAP 3 for PS3 from a buddy who was leaving the country. The guy needed to get rid of it, and I wanted a stick. He had it modded with sanwa buttons and I liked it, but forgot to check if it was for 360, the system I currently ownā€¦ I donā€™t even own a PS3.

So, Iā€™ve gotten mixed results from some of these threads. One stated that there is no such thing as a PS3 to 360 converter and directed the idea to this thread. After rummaging through this thread however, Iā€™ve seen talk of a converter that works, but I canā€™t seem to grasp anything concrete through all the jargon. Let it be said, Iā€™m an electronics technician in the navy, so I know electronics, but Iā€™m unfamiliar with much of this stick modding. All I want to know isā€¦

  • Is there a converter for PS3 to 360 that works well?
  • If not, is the dual PCB setup viable?
  • Any links to guides explaining these things would be helpful. I already went through the majority of the stickies.

Thanks for the help.

You can dual mod it with a xbox360 controller.
