My thread

The wiring is pretty straightforward if you follow the instructions included with your boards.

Anything specific you have a question on?

from your thread it just a matter of replacing the DPDT switch with the Imp Board
Was kinda looking for a pic but that is the only one I see sorry its late

that is pretty much it. Other than that just make sure every button and direction is connected to both boards. When you add the cthulhu all you need is to make sure is every signal line is connected to the appropriate spot. You do not need to connect any additional ground lines from the buttons since both boards are common ground.

Thanks this help going to sleep Im gonna map this all out 2morrow so there are no hiccups when my stuff arrives and quick trip to radioshack for cable sleeves, Soldering Iron etc

I was scouring the web recently for the same answer myself. Thankfully, I found this thread. I can vouch that it works. Enjoy my fellow HRAP3 modders.

thanks! scraping the black stuff seems the obvious answer but won’t that interfere with the actual button press?

Not really. And use small enough wire and you won’t even feel it. I used 26AWG.

thanks, one more question. it looks like he only soldered wires to the signal points on the 360 pad and and then connected the +5v and the ground to the corresponding points on the hrap3 pcb and then the d+ and d- to the switch, so if that works then that means when you press the buttons which are directly connected to the hrap3 pcb it grounds for the 360 pad as well. am i correct?

and i’m curious on your own mod did you use a switch as well or go with one of toodles’ imp boards?

Yes.

I used a switch cause it’s simple and didn’t require ordering and waiting. My next stick mod will use an imp.

i’d rep you if i could but i’m still like 70 posts away :frowning:
thank you again and i hope i won’t end up bugging you with more questions in the future

Is it impossible or impractical?

Cthulhu is sold out everywhere, so i was wondering is it possible to use a wireless sixaxis ps3 controller’s pcb to dual mod? ( i have a xbox 360 )

on top of my head i can see that the controller is wireless can be a problem but what if we attach the charger usb cable that comes with it?

either have 2 usb sticking out of the box or combine it into 1 usb ( however u do that)

haven’t seen it done

I’m currently doing a dual PCB mod. I have both pcbs working individually but while wiring them up I found that my madcatz 360 pcb isn’t exactly laid out as slagcoin’s diagram says so I want to use my multimeter to see for certain which wire is the 5v. Can someone explain to me how to use a multimeter to find the 5v line and also how to do continuity testing? I tried searching the forums but I couldn’t find anything and I tried looking for tutorials but I got was so confused by all the different options. I have a cheap cen-tech multimeter from harbor freight tools.I would be so grateful if someone could explain this to me because I have been searching all night and cannot make sense of this stuff. :crybaby:

plug your usb cable into a powered on computer

take red plut touch red usb wire

take blk plug touch any common ground

keep looking at voltmeter (should be set to dc volts, prolly 500 milli amps)

when screen says five volts you win :bgrin:

are all current madcatz 360 controllers common ground or is it a crapshoot?

I’d like to ask a question about the dual PCB.

I believe the Late 360 PCB (http://slagcoin.com/joystick/pcb_diagrams/360_diagram1.jpg) is common ground.

My H Dual Shock (http://slagcoin.com/joystick/pcb_diagrams/ps1_diagram9.jpg) is also common ground, I’ve connected the 3.3v and 5v to each other and i’ve grounded them both to the buttons as displayed on the front page. However, the 360 PCB does not turn on my 360, and in windows the buttons do not register. Despite this the PS1 PCB works fine on my PlayStation 2. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Nope.

Im working on a dual pad mod, but im having a tough time looking for a CG X360 controller. is there any way around this? Like… making a Non-CG into a CG? im unsure…

Also, can i shorten USB cables by splicing them, and then reconnecting them later as i find the length suitable? thanks.

** im using a PS1 Rev A Controller as the PS side.

Does anyone know why? What makes the Sixaxis any different? Was thinking about sticking a sixaxis in my stick that already has a madcats arcarde pcb.
