That pcb isn’t common ground. It won’t work for a dual pcb mod.
Just finished my custom stick mod.
combined a MadCatz Wired 360 PCB with my PS1 DS PCB.
Thanks everyone for your info and help!
I’ve been lurking in this thread and I have seen a few wiring schematics that seem kind of pieced together, I decided to make a high res one for when I am able to finally put together a stick. I mostly made this for me but I thought I’d share.
If it’s helpful to you, hooray.
(let me know if it’s wrong too)
Is it possible to damage a console by running 2 PCBs in one controller? I remember hearing horror stories about blown Dreamcast controller ports with certain setups that drew too much voltage.
Ive seen afew diagrams of peoples 2pcbs setups. Am i not able to use the jlf harness for 2 pcbs? Do i have to get different switches?
Or where the green wire(ground) is coming out from the terminal to the buttons could i also stick the black wire from the jlf harness in that slot and not have to worry about daisying the stick?
Just use the black wire from the JLF harness, you don’t need to daisy chain the stick.
thanks, i didnt think there would be a problem, but wanted to make sure just incase.
Will this work for a dual pcb (cthulhu and mad catz classic arcade stick) mod?
The OR chip? Yup, it’ll work for any combination of buttons as long as they’re CG boards.
But really, get an Imp. You get the Start+Select=guide functionality, and DPDT-less switching for a single outgoing USB cable.
oh im not trying to do dual mod, just hrap 2 to 360, not sure why i started posting here :S
Hello! I have been reading through this thread, and I’ve seen mentions elsewhere, but for the sake of completeness:
Where is the common ground on the HRAP3 PCB? Or rather, a more broad-based question, how can you locate the common ground and 5V with a multimeter?
Got a prob and would appreciate any help- I did a madcatz 360 padhack and put it in a VSHG with a dpdt switch. The PS3 functionality is normal, but the 360 part has a strange issue. While I’m using it on 360 I can see my receiver attempting to auto-detect the sound type every few seconds. When this happens there seems to be slight input lag on the stick. Any ideas?
using this diagram for 2pcbs with 2 caords with pcb a( madcatz retro arcade stick) and pcb b (cthulhu) will the pcb to pcb ground connection work with a common ground on the madcatz board? or does it have to be from the usb cable? also what is the significance of a diode? what does it do? thanks guys
im having trouble searching for stuff right now since im at work and the internet is laggin SO much. Plus the 300sec wait between searches isnt helping. lol
I have acouple of friends that want me to put a ps1 ds pcb in their 360 se sticks. How hard is it to add a 2nd pcb? I googled an image of the inside of the stick since i dont physically have one in front of me and it looks pretty crowded in there.
Is there a source that has all the pcbs labeled that are in the se stick?
thanks
I only got to like the 5 page of this thread before I couldnt handle the internet speed.
When you get home and get decent internet speed you will notice all the information is in here you just have to read. There is a link to a tutorial I made on this page.
Fundando- cool. I saw the one you made with the cthulhu board. Is it possible to do without it? Or will it be a big pain?
Well it definitely is a lot more work, but yeah it is possible as long as the pcb your using is common ground. First thing I might recommend for you is to read this whole thread.
Ive done acouple of dual mods, its just the whole setup of this stick is what is throwing me off.But your right, ill probably have to do some more research. There just so much useless junk on the SE stick floating around.
Please forgive me if this has been addressed before…
Hey whats up guys, Ive been thinking of taking a Mayflash PCB and using it to make a ps2/ps3/xbox360 stick by adding an xbox360 wired controller PCB and using a DPDT switch: http://homepage.mac.com/cramlet/.Pictures/extra/dualpcb1.jpg.
Basically solder an xbox360 wired stick PCB to the Mayflash PCB, so at the end I will have one usb plug and a ps2 plug.
My question concerns the Mayflash PCB itself. Is it reliable and does it work laglessly on the ps3?
Has anyone used this PCB in playing sf4 or HDremix?
Is there anything I should look out for electrically when doing this mod?
Thanks!
Is there any limit to how many PCBs can be in one stick from an electrical standpoint? What I mean is, since all PCBs must be powered, would running too many PCBs draw too much power from a console and damage it? I know the Dreamcast has a habit of blowing out it’s controller ports…
